personality: Somi has a gentle soul in every meaning of the word, from the soft tone of her voice to her actual appearance, the girl does not have a sharp edge, or a temper that flares strongly more than once in a blue moon. Her friends describe her as a kind-hearted girl who looks at the world through rose tinted glasses. The word delicate also comes up more often than not (though she often protests she is not as fragile as people make her out to be, even if her actions more often than not only serve to prove them correct). background: seo somi was born to a young couple that was already fraying at the edges by the time that they welcomed their second daughter into the world. honestly speaking, somi does not actually remember much of her mother- not enough to divulge to others in any case without feeling decidedly foolish because all she can remember is a light jasmine scent and the soft tickling sensation of long strands of hair that apparently used to commonly escape from the woman’s attempts to pull her hair back. somi’s older sister often recalls of how their parents never seemed quite right together, even in her young eyes at the time. It should prove as little surprise that before somi was even two years old, her mother seemed to hit her wit’s end and literally just up and left- seemingly overnight. If asked, somi can’t exactly say that she is embittered or misses her mother considering how little she does remember, but it was never as if she was ever lacking when it came to familial support- even if it came in the rigid structure from her father, or the loving mentoring from her older sister.

Both Somi and Sojin, her older sister, grew up to be rather independent and self-reliant- especially given how work intensive their father’s job as an investment broker was that required him to pull long hours to continue being their family’s sole bread winner. While initially mildly intimidated by the daughter of Pureuda’s owners, somi ended up having little issue with warming up to and opening up to Lida once the two encountered one another again in high school. Surprisingly enough, Somi is closer to her new step-mother than her own father to be honest. There's just a compatibility between the two that just seems to make them click. suran seems genuinely fond of her new step daughter, and while she does want to impress and win the younger girl over eventually (not that she really needs to, somi likes her more than enough already to be honest.) the woman isn't making a big deal of going out of her way to avoid seeming too pushy or overbearing. The two are comfortable with one another, and have little issue making small talk or interacting if alone.

The definite social butterfly of the family, Sojin is the light of the Seo family. The young woman is much more free-spirited and outgoing than her younger sister. despite their age difference and differing personalities however, the two siblings actually get along surprisingly well. Sojin is a bright and rather energetic individual who genuinely seems to just love life and the people in it on a generalized level. The two Seo siblings share a close relationship, and Somi usually ends up looking out for her older sister at times so that her more impulsive urges aren't allowed to really get too far out of hand. Surprisingly enough, Somi is closer to her new step-mother than her own father to be honest. There's just a compatibility between the two that just seems to make them click. suran seems genuinely fond of her new step daughter, and while she does want to impress and win the younger girl over eventually (not that she really needs to, somi likes her more than enough already to be honest.) the woman isn't making a big deal of going out of her way to avoid seeming too pushy or overbearing. The two are comfortable with one another, and have little issue making small talk or interacting if alone.

The definite social butterfly of the family, Sojin is the light of the Seo family. The young woman is much more free-spirited and outgoing than her younger sister. despite their age difference and differing personalities however, the two siblings actually get along surprisingly well. Sojin is a bright and rather energetic individual who genuinely seems to just love life and the people in it on a generalized level. The two Seo siblings share a close relationship, and Somi usually ends up looking out for her older sister at times so that her more impulsive urges aren't allowed to really get too far out of hand. Sojin likes to think that she knows most of her sister's friends, and displays an endearingly strong protectiveness over her "baby sister".

first meeting: jimin is a terrible friend who brings in one of his close friends to pureuda during one of somi's earlier shifts. it was still fairly empty and lida/her family are already familiar with jimin thanks to he and his family being fairly consistent regulars over the years as well. somi approached the table, relaxed already at the familiarity of jimin engrossed in the telling of some story to his friend, his hands moving rapidly in reflection to his enthusiasm as he spoke. When she came up behind jimin to fill their glasses of water and figure out what meat they wanted brought out first, (brisket. jimin always insists on the brisket as an opener for kbbq) jimin made an especially broad gesture, proceeding to knock the pitcher full of ice water out of somi's hands towards his friend across from him. somi could only stare in horror as both the water and the pitcher itself flew at the other boy in front of her- the water landing and completely soaking his front from the stomach down to his lap and the pitcher itself collided with the side of his face as he twisted in an attempt to avoid it. absolutely mortified, somi grabbed the entire napkin dispenser from the nearest table and begins trying to push stacks of napkins into his lap to try to absorb the water while apologizing over and over like a broken record. Jimin, having temporarily stopped talking out of sheer shock when he had accidentally sent the water pitcher flying, at that point was trying very hard not to dissolve into laughter at somi's borderline panicked motions and Taehyung's bemused expression as he stared at his friend. "So Tae, this is somi. the neighbor and friend I've mentioned that works here."

interactions: Taehyung's first impression of somi, igoring the fact that he got smacked in the face with a water pitcher and high key soaked with ice water, was that she was frick-fracking adorable and would be lots of fun to tease. he wasn't exactly subtle in his interest and friendliness once he and jimin managed to convince her that the ground would not in fact open up under her feet to swallow her if she happened to see taehyung again. he thoroughly enjoys teasing her and seeing how far he can push her before she either melts into an embarassed cesspool of emotions or snaps and actually sends some snark back at him. the first time he had managed to get her to do so shocked him just as much as it did jimin and even somi herself as well, while that is much less common, it is certainly much more entertaining given the banter that gets tossed between them. Taehyung finds that he particularly enjoys pushing his luck with somi when she (very awkwardy) drops by chingu bbq sometimes while he is working- especially since he more or less figured out what is going on by the second visit or so, so he liked seeing how far somi would be willing to go before nerves or embarassment got the better of her. he later ends up growing to be surprised with how comfortable he is in her presence- even more so than jimin who is arguably one of his best friends. At first he viewed somi as something fun to play around with- to tease, but as he spent more time with her he felt less and less inclined to view her as just another fleeting and unimportant face that passed through his life. he enjoys her company and has come to realize that this girl is probably a tad too trusting for her own good sometimes- and as cringe worthy as it is, he has come to realize that he actually seems to be developing some protective tendencies when it comes to her.
