what happened??

**this is just my opinion

I was a huge fan of YGENT. Key term WAS. I guess it dates back to 2009, when 2ne1 debuted. There was just an edge with the group that has me drawn to them. They created a new prespective to girl groups that just shocked me for i got into kpop because of super junior's sorry sorry so i first knew about SMENT and even though i did like the poppy songs of GG like gee and genie i just wasn't drawn to the group, just like i wasn't drawn to wondergirls even when i loved the song nobody. It wasn't just swag that was in them, they just had that character that made them who they are. They were fresh and from that scene, they were the only ones doing what they were doing. Crazy hairstyles, the fashion, the guts. They were fierce and unapologetic about it. They served something fresh from the usual girl groups that were cutesy or y. Their songs were cool and funky too.

Then i stumbled upon bigbang. well, bigbang really doesn't need an introduction.

I felt like these two groups had something. they weren't following the mold, they created them.

You know what I'm saying?

Many new groups are following their footsteps, boygroups following the style of bigbang.. but i have never seen any girlgroup follow 2ne1. i guess it would be too much of a risk.

nooooww to my complaint/rant:

this is just my opinion okaaaay

Winner: they could have been such a great group. edgy, sleek, manly, sophisticated. But i feel like because that style of theirs wasn't popular to the masses, the management is trying to divert them to the mainstream road which really doesn't work for them. i'm really sad seeing their songs having low views on yt since they are such gems you know. whyyyy. i guess slow songs really aren't that hyped since people like the upbeat yet repititive sounds and lyrics. such artisty wasted

IKON: I have no idea much of this group since i was more into winner *sorry* but i feel like they are a bit the generic kpop bgroups? i kinda remember the old bb with them, when they were younger.

Blackpink: I tried to like blackpink but i just can't. i expected more from yg. This concept is just ridiculous. I don't hate bp at all, it's just that im dissapointed. why does yg want a mainstream gg? to rake in money? why make a pretty-pretty gg and not a gg that has an edge? Like come onnnnn. I'm pretty sure the ladies of bp has more to offer but are told to hold back

One: he should transfer to black label, aomg, highrgnd, amoeba culture, highermusic.

this all boils down to.. what the happened to YGE? Why go mainstream? The image reflecting others. why are they afraid to be different when being different was what made them famous and had them set up as one of the big 3s?

I know the members of winner because they attracted my attention but yge was in harnessing their potential so that gleam dulled. They should have guided winner more, produce more content to make them into a brand like 2ne1 and bigbang before they released iKON. I have nothing against the group but it would have been better for both of them. Since winner won the competition, Yg should have put in all effort for the group to succeed for they have the capacity to do so. they wouldn't have won the competition if they were half-assed. In due to that, iKON can harness their craft more and find their own style. Also with this, their would be no competition between ikonics and incicles. We know this is true..

I know all of this is business. But what i'm getting at is, if they put in more effort into building their craft then they could have raked in more popularity thus more money. I guess the management were too impatient, tending to the shortcut just because they are YG. I know yg is a brand in itself already, once yge releases a song it gets to the chart but they could be more popular and be at the top if they didn't go mainstream and sloppy.

ing honest now, how many groups are like bigbang? none. how many groups are like 2ne1? none.

now, how many groups are like ikon? how many groups are like blackpink? how many groups are like winner?

I'm not saying that they are flops but i'm just dissapointed that they could have achieved more. That even with long hiatuses *since yge NEVER goes through his comeback dates* they, all the members, would survive and still be relevant to the masses

**I remember mino saying that his song wasn't allowed to be released because it was *too hiphop*. Whaaat? Didn't yg start of as a hiphop label? now it's just kpop.. where's the artistry and craft that we loved? that we fell inlove with? go collect your money

I stopped following YG artists after 2ne1's hiatus, it's just isn't the same anymore even though I still listen to some of their artists songs when something's being released but thats just that

I kinda agree. I still like YG groups, tho I've never liked iKON (it's basically Bobby & B.I ft. Friends). Like YG why you do that to Winner, Winner is such an awesome group T.T

And Blackpink... At first I was OMG this group is so good I love Lisa but nowadays I just cut the "OMG this group is so good" out. Only Lisa is good and do you guys know why? Because SHE IS DIFFERENT.
