FASHION STYLE [ ♦ ] All her life she grew up wearing tomboy-style clothes. Most of the time, her mother dressed her extremely girly and pretty-looking, like a doll. But as she grew, she wore more laidback fashions. It wasn't until near her debut and after that she started wearing more girlish clothing to fit her company's ideal. She still prefers sweats, graphic T's, converse, and snapbacks.

TRAINEE BACKGROUND [ ♦ ] She was scouted in Seoul by JYP, but eventually auditioned for NH Media when she heard about their trainees and their skill sets. Since she always took dance, she aspired to be there, especially since her BFF, Chaerin, wanted to audition, too.
From 2008 onward, she was known as the "talented twin" in NH, alongside her bestie Chaerin. They excelled in dance, were in dance programs at studios, and both attended Hanlim once time came.
Eunmi took vocal lessons and rap lessons, but their director said she'd mainly be a dancer, which hurt Eunmi.
She met several trainees during her trainee period; Teen Top, JYP trainees, SM trainees, foreign trainees, and more. The alumni and fellow people at NH Media "adopted" her into the family and most of the U-Kiss boys adored her. Alexander loved to talk to her in English and baby her. Kevin and Eli did the same, but were more playful with her.
Her life there was hard, nonetheless. Japanese and Chinese courses started in 2010, then Japanese was dropped. Her vocal lessons were strenuous. Her rap lessons seemed like a joke. She was expected to be perfect, with Chaerin and a couple other girls, even at that young age.
She was also constantly told to get plastic surgery, which led her to body dysmorphia.

// As Eunmi was born and raised in America to Korean parents, she was in a divided world. This led to many interchangable habits. She was cold, calm, collected, and strict on herself. Yet she tried to be playful and outgoing, like a lot of American schoolmates.
// Friends can note that Eunmi seemed to hide herself once around a lot of people, yet she didn't seem shy at all. This was due to trust issues and general fear of people.
// As a hardworking student, she was often claimed to be the "smart Asian" of her school (even though there were plenty there) and was always associated with her ethnicity; this led her to act more and more Korean, and start cursing or saying things about the kids in Korean. She withdrew herself from her school, only working hard and attending dance classes.
// Once Eunmi and her family finally moved back to Korea (for a sick relative who was dying of cancer), Eunmi felt more relaxed in what seemed like her natural environment. She was happier and felt freer. Since moving "home", she was still untrusting, but hada lighter air around her and felt more at ease.

// Eunmi was scouted by chance by JYP. She had met a girl at school who was also Korean-American, and they shared their love for dance. It was when Chaerin basically forced Eunmi to attend auditions (she was thrilled Eunmi was scouted by JYP, even though she declined) and they became extremely excited for at least 3 companies. When they got in to NH Media, the girls trained hard and remained friends.
