   when you talk about eunbyul, just know that word gets around pretty quick and she is not afraid to confort you right to your face. she also has certain 'connections' (aka computer nerds that eunbyul charms in order to get recipets and blackmail fuel) that she could pul out at anytime in order to ruin someone's reputation and even their life. it seems as if she's the only person in daeryang high who's strong enough to do this. but, like every human, she's not all that perfect.
   she sees herself as a perfectionist. and if a pimple breaks out on her chin or even if a strand of her hair is out of place, she will go out of her way just to fix any imperfection that she spotted in the mirror. because she sees herself as more presenting than the other students, she tends to judge anyone who's not in her little posse. 
  maybe that's why jaesung is the only one, other than her two friends, that can put up with her. she's over-her-heels in love with him and she can't help but hang around him so much. what would you do if you had one of the hottest boys in schools as your boyfriend? and yeah, maybe he doesn't really like her back and only likes her for her looks. and yeah, maybe he is kind of controlling and obsessive over her but that's just his way of loving her! right?
the journey so far
   eunbyul used to be nice, believe it or not. her parents would support her in her cheerleading and since she was an only child, she was often spoiled. this caused her to be a bit chubbier and stubborn. but eunbyul didn't mind. she used to have a lot of friends and would even make friends with new kids no matter what their social status was. (maybe it was because she was friends with almost everybody in school that all of them turned their back on her after a certain rumor got out of hand.)
   so how did this saint, this angel, turn into your worst nightmare? well, it all started when 'the leader' of her old group of friends caught her boyfriend talking to eunbyul.  (in eunbyul's defense, they were bio partners who were working on their project.) after the girl found out that eunbyul had her boyfriend's number and was texting him (again, they were partners on a project and they were texting about that), she was determined to ruin eunbyul's life slowly but surely. she spread small white lied rumors about eunbyul among the school, post fatshaming posts about eunbyul's body, and accused eunbyul of badmouthing her schoolmates by blowing her opinions on other students out-of-porportion. one by one, they all confronted her and despite her many attempts to rekindle her friendships, they wouldn't have it and turned their back on her. 
  at this point,  eunbyul's sadness turns into anger. one morning, eunbyul's old friends confessed that the leader of their friend group was spreading the rumors. so, naturally, she had to get back at her. eunbyul still kept the girl's boyfriend's number and she would ask him what he really felt about the girl. she would then screenshot these texts and send them  - not to the girl - but to everyone else in the school. (well, to the numbers that haven't blocked her yet.) 
   word spreads quick around her middle school and after the girl broke up with her boyfriend, she begged for forgiveness to eunbyul. but eunbyul was a changed person and she didn't take from anybody. she distanced herself from her friend group except for two people (who are still her only friends) and started a new life for herself.
    her reputation for being a followed her into high school and honestly, she was kinda glad that it did. students from her middle school would spread the story to kids from other schools and her social status as the 'mean, popular girl' was established.
   sadly, none of her friends are at her bus stop and she has to ride the bus because she doesn't have her license yet. she always thought of the other people at her bus stop as weird so she never made an attempt to talk to them, especially kwon sangil. but when she noticed that he was gone, like everybody else, and the suggestion of going to find out where he is came up, she refused at first.
  but then, she got a text from jaesung. 
    'why arent u here yet? ur always so late its annoying'
     she looks at the text and reflects on what would happen if she stayed on the normal lifestyle that she lives or if she went with the group. she looks at the group of people, already leaving the bus stop.
     lee eunbyul - queen of the jungle, meanest popular girl you would probably ever meet, the korean regina george - shouts "wait up!" to everybody else and runs towards them with her phone in her hand. she doesn't what the hell she's getting herself into. but in a way, it's one more step towards freedom.

  - eunbyul's ig handle is @eunstarlee and she has 1,000 followers. though, most of the reason why she has so many followers is because of how pretty she is. none of them really know how mean she is in real life. "follow me on instagram, okay?"
  - she used to be a cheerleader until she was kicked out by her old friends. it doesn't really matter now that they're practically begging her to come back to them. "so desperate, ugh."
  - she sends jaesung a lot of texts with hearts in them but he only sends back short and simple replies. nonetheless, she thinks it's sweet how he takes time out of his day to look at her texts and reply to them. "aww, he's so sweet."
  - like eunbyul, kyungsook and mingzhu were also kicked out of the old friend group for siding with eunbyul, which is why their friendship is stronger than when they were still with their old friends. "don't call her a ! i'm the real you should be scared of."
  - since she's so used to be spoiled, she's also high-maintenance. she does rigorious exercise, eats a small but kinda healthy diet, and an 8-step skincare routine. she refuses to step into mud or even puddles of water and has different sneakers and socks if gym is outside. and she hates insects and reptiles and refuses to go near them. "ugh, get that away from me!"

  choi kyungsook, 19, 3rd year. "kyungsook is like the older sister i wish i had. she doesn't talk much, thank god, and at least when she talks, she has something funny to say. I DON'T SEE HER HANGING AROUND WITH OTHER KIDS EXCEPT ME AND MINGZHU SO WE'RE OBVIOUSLY BEST FRIENDS. she's SO pretty and i love how monotone her voice is because it balances us out. and she's kind of like me personality-wise, which i always find great in a friend." BLESS HER HEART: SHE EVEN HANGS OUT WITH THE PLAIN KIDS TOO, AWW! WHAT A CHARITABLE FRIEND TO HAVE. SHE'S MUCH MORE VIBRANT AND ACTIVE THAN KYUNGSOOK BUT, AS I SAID BEFORE, WE BALANCE EACH OTHER OUT. thoughts on sangil 
   "kwon sangil? ugh, that weirdo? he never talks to me - i think he's a little bit intimidated - but kyungsook and mingzhu say that he's that emo kid that sits in the corner of the classroom and wears all black. and he's so quiet! like, if you wanna survive in school, at least ing talk. god, he gives me the creeps. if you made me watch a scary movie but replaced the monster with sangil instead, i would have never noticed."
   "but i mean, i do feel kinda bad that he disappeared. empathy is a human emotion and i am allowed to feel that for nobodies, i guess. but his disappearance doesn't affect me. i could have gone on with my day and meet up with my friends and hold hands with jaesung but no. my mother taught me that you should always do what you feel is right and i guess my gut feeling thinks that going to find some loser with a sad life is the right thing to do."
   "do you think that's the right thing to?"
   "...shut up."

            cha jaesung, 19, 3rd year.
  when jaesung first talked to eunbyul, it was because he forgot his homework. at first, she gave him a face and told him that he had to face the consequences. but, out of pity, she quickly gave him a glance of her homework and pulled back as soon as she saw the teacher walk in. that would be the first of many, many homework copying that went on between eunbyul and jaesung.
  the fourth time he copied her homework, he asked her if she wanted to go to the movies with him. at first, she turned him down. then, after thinking about the possible positives that she could benefit from a relationship with one of the most hottest boys in school, she immediately turned to face him again and took back her words, accepting his request instead, leaving a confused but satisfied jaesung.
     that date lead to many other dates and then to their official status as a power couple in daeryong. she found herself falling more and more in love with jaesung and became infatuated with him. but for some reason, he didn't really have any feelings for her back.
  but he still wanted to be in the relationship. and, well, eunbyul would do anything to make it work. because of this, it made him more controlling and this relationship borderline toxic. even her friends didn't think that this would work out if he kept on controlling eunbyul like this but they didn't want her to distance herself from them so they both kept quiet about it. (but kyungsook lets her death glares at him do the talking.)
   they're still a couple, possibly one of the most prettiest couple in the nation, but it's mostly eunbyul that's trying her best to make it work. (poor girl; she's so blind and oblivious.) who knows? maybe eunbyul will wake up to her senses one day and actually break things off with him.
