Our LIttle Miracle Update

Almost a year ago, I wrote a blog post titled, "YunJae Backstory/Relationship Highlights for Our Little Miracle." The title sums up the post pretty well. I wanted to give an update in this post on what has been going on with the story since then. I can't say I have actually written much more for the story since that blog. What I have done on the writing front though is worked on the plot outline. I have no idea how long the story is going to be, so I'm not sure how much of the plot outline I have written. I have taken considerable time working out the dates for the procedure part of the story though, which is more complicated than you'd think. Then there is this other part that took a lot of time to figure out given what I want to happen later.

Anyhow, the reason I even began a plot outline is because I was having a bit of writer's block. I knew the basics of what I wanted for the next scene and what Yunho was feeling, but I had trouble fleshing out the details and writing. So I thought a plot outline would help me gather my ideas and inspire my writing since an outline is essentially what I had for said scene. I'd like to add that I'm the type of writer that has periods where I write, write, write and periods where I don't feel like writing. I feel like I've been in the later period for a long time. I've been listening to the playlist/soundtrack I've put together a lot to get me to write more, which has lead me to plot out more/come up with scenes in my head (like this really cute one with Jaejoong I came up with the other day that is so adorbs.) instead of writing the story or plot outline. I've also done some research for certain parts of the story like the anniversary gifts for the YunJae anniversary scene and a few other things I won't mention because...spoilers. lol I do lots of research because I like to be accurate considering I don't know everything; want to be able to dive deep into my characters and what they go through; think it adds a richness to the story; and I like doing it and find it fun.

Another thing I've done is organize the playlist/soundtrack in the order I'm going to use the songs in the fic. I feel like so many of the lyrics relate so well to the story, I could practically make this a song fic. I'm not going to do that because that's not what I want. The songs, to me, are more like background music you would hear in a show/movie/any sort of visual thing. I could just see so many of these songs playing perfectly in the background of scenes. (I just realized I need to add a song for a scene! *gasp* That leaves me with an uneven number, 31. Aw. Oh well. It happens. I may need to add songs in the future as I write too. I think I'll try to add intrumentals like I did with the aforementioned scene.) I will admit, however, that I don't like every song chosen, but the lyrics fit and capture the right feelings. There is also one song that captures a character's feelings and thoughts perfectly, but the genre and the resulting way the artist sings doesn’t fit the character at all. It's too bad. Readers will just have to imagine the song in a genre that fits the character like rock, pop, or ballad. You'll understand once we get to that part of the story. Now what I'm going to do is release the playlist/soundtrack in parts for each chapter due to the fact that many songs would give spoilers, some more than others. There will be songs that will be used in multiple chapters. As I've said, the songs are more like background music, and background music does repeat. Like in Kdramas for example.

The last thing I've done is edit the email Jaejoong gets in the prologue of the fic based on new birth rate statictics that have come out and some related information I realized was missing. I still have to cite my sources and link everything. (I just realized I need to do that for my science. *sigh* That will take a while with all the different parts I wrote out. Maybe I'll just mention the articles/Wikipedia page in an Author's Note. Yeah, that will be easier.) I'm going to post the prologue and the corresponding songs tomorrow with the hopes that the resulting comments will motivate me to write more. (I'll certainlly make a note of that in the forward.) Fingers crossed everyone. Fighting!
