So I asked uri baby Joocha what her stage name meant and she said that it's an alternative for JooYeon because while she thinks that it's alright to go by her birth name, she says that Jooyeon is too much of a normal name that doesn't makes people goes Wow! and I think her stage name does have an effect on us, no? Korea's Sweetheart ♡ "Annyeonghaseyo! This is AMORE's one and only, Korea's Sweetheart, Yawn immida!" Jooyeon fakes a smile as she faces the mirror. Ever since Jiseong told the members to pratice coming up with their line, she has been doing nothing but this.

"Yeon, you do know that, that nickname is really cliche and attention seeking, right?" their leader calls out and the younger girl looks at her reflection instead of turning back to face her. "I know that."

Of course she knows what this nickname means. To self appoint yourself as the 'Korea's Sweetheart', you're not only making people cringe, you're also making people delibrately search for your name on Naver. Jooyeon is desperate for attention and this is the way, she thinks, that will make people know her.

Granted, the one who wants the crown must bear its weight and Jooyeon knows that to have this nickname must mean that she has to never let her mask down, anywhere. This nickname is used whenever Jooyeon introduces herself and while her members originally opposed this introduction, they eventually let it pass, seeing as to how Jooyeon's name did rank up on Naver and honestly, as long as AMORE's name is out there and not dying, it's whatever.

Girl in Exo's Wolf and Growl MV ♡ "Yawn-ssi, you were once a trainee under SM Entertainment right?" the emcee asks and the girl smiles while the crowd cheers.

"Yes. Some people may know me as the girl who appeared in Exo's Wolf and Growl music video. But that was way back in 2013 though! I was like, fourteen then." Jooyeon responds with a smile.

A look of shock appears on the emcee's face as she asks once again, "Oh my, isn't that too young to appear in that music video? It's about two guys fighting for one girl, isn't it?"

Jooyeon nods. "Well, yea. I agree that I was really way too young to appear in that music video but I was originally set to debut with Red Velvet and the company wanted me to have some attention, which explains why."

SMRookies ♡ Originally slotted to debut with Red Velvet, SM introduced Jooyeon to the public as part of the SMRookies. Eventually, she didn't debut with Red Velvet and still stuck with the rookies. She appeared on multiple teaser pictures ( will link if you want me to!! ) and even appeared on a few episodes of Mickey Mouse Club House that features a few, if not, majority of the SMRookies.

She's always talking with a smile etched on her face and sometimes I feel like a girl like her – a girl, too bright and filled with too much positiveness – is not meant for the world." she replies. Smile, young one. Don't ever let that smile drop because when people sees that you're not smiling, they'll eventually figure out your intentions. You're nice only to people whom you like. But really, who are the people you like? People who are weaker than you are? People who are less popular than you are? Because that's who you really are, isn't it? TIMELINE

Part I. ♡ Jooeun is her older sister's name. Jooyeon's parents own a logistic company and they're pretty well off. She gets spoiled to the core because she's after all, the youngest in the household and the youngest always has a soft spot in their parents' heart.

"Yeon-ah, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Her sister asks. "I don't know... what is a job that can make everyone love and want to be me?" She replies. Her sister doesn't knows how to reply. The current attention focused on Jooyeon wasn't enough for her. She was greedy and she wants more.

Part II. ♡ School went well, Jooyeon have friends but she refuses to befriend kids who are more popular than she is. "There can only be one sun in the sky." she told her teacher once. The thing about growing up being treated like a princess is that, you really think you're a princess and that you're the best.

"Yeon-ah, why do you not want to befriend Irene?" Her mother asks. "There is no need for two countries to befriend each other unless they want something." she replies. Her mother doesn't knows how to reply. Jooyeon was getting more selfish and arrogant. She thinks she's everything.

Part III. ♡ Idol. Being an idol is the job that she wants. When she's told that an idol isn't really a job but more of a hobby and something that will not sustain her life forever, Jooyeon begs to differ. She turns a deaf ear to everything her family says. They have to be supportive of her dream, whether or not they like it.

"Yeon-ah, must you really take up singing and dancing lessons? You can be a doctor, you know? Something other than being an idol. It's tough job there." her father says. "Being an idol guarantees that the spotlight will always be on me. I only want to be an idol and nothing else." she replies. Her father doesn't knows what to reply.

Part IV. ♡ In January 2013, Jooyeon got scouted by SM Entertainment for her looks and was quickly accepted because she knew how to sing ( she wasn't that good back then but still, a plus one ) and dance ( a little ). She was originally slotted for debut with Red Velvet and trained almost everyday because the company wanted to rush her debut.

Red Velvet debuted in 2014 with four members and later on added Kim Yerim, her close friend, instead of her. There wasn't any reason as to why Jooyeon was replaced by Yerim but all she knew was that she hated Yerim to the core because of that. Still, her fake smiles remained.

Jooyeon trained with SM Entertainment until 2016 before her contract expired ( since trainee contracts are usually shorter ) and she left because she knew that SM wouldn't debut another girl group that soon. Later on, she got scouted by Jiseong who recognized her as part of the SMRookie and the girl who made her first appearance in the showbiz world through Exo's music video.

001 ♡ Twirls her hair a lot no matter what. No actual reason, she just does it because it makes her feel better somehow. Bites her tongue really hard when she's angry or ticked off in public. Jooyeon likes to take aesthetic pictures and eat pastries, she dislikes people who are better than her and that's pretty much it.

002 ♡ She cuts herself because she's so overwhelmed by the stress she puts on herself – to become the best and only the best. Most of the time, she cuts herself during her shower or on days when she's really sad or having a break down, she'll lock herself in the room and do her deed. Nobody except Jooeun is aware of this, but Jooyeon doesn't knows that her sister knows about it. She cuts at places that nobody can see ( inner thighs, etc ) and carries a penknife in her bag.

003 ♡ She's considered to be the face of the group because she was once a SM trainee and also part of SMRookies. Because of that, it is believed that Jooyeon has the most fans amongst all the other members, after all, people have known about her since 2014 and if that doesn't says anything that contributes to her face of the group title, I don't know what will.

WHAT'S YOUR ROLE IN THE GROUP?

Jooyeon smiles as she starts speaking. "Some people think that having just the main vocalist in the group completes the song but I beg to differ. I feel that the lead vocals, since there are two in AMORE," if one were to hear Jooyeon speak carefully, they'd notice the slight snicker in her tone. "are also very important. My role in the group? Other than being a sweetheart?" she jokes and the columnist laughs. "To deliver the song prettily to all our fans."

I SEE, AND WHAT MAKES YOU DESERVING OF THIS COVETED POSITION? WHAT MAKES YOU STAND ON STAGE AS AMORE'S LEAD VOCALIST INSTEAD OF OTHERS WHO MIGHT BE AS EQUALLY AS COMPETENT AS YOU ARE?

"I probably don't deserve this position..." Jooyeon says genuinely. "There are many things that I'm lacking, many things that I still haven't been able to do well and sometimes I feel like I'm only in the group because Jiseong unnie picked me and I don't know what went through her mind when she did that." she sighs a little. "But I can say with assurance that I work really hard for this and I really want it. Of course, hardwork is one thing but results is another. I promise to show results, trust me!" she begs and pouts.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL ABOUT BEING IN AMORE? ABOUT BEING UNDER SONG JISEONG'S MANAGEMENT AND BELONGING IN THE NEXT BIG THING?

She doesn't says anything for awhile and just blinks, thinking of an answer. "Exciting? I don't know where we're going to be... I don't know if we will be able to live up to VI.ViD's fame back then. There are so many things to do and it's the first time I'm actually experiencing all this." she smiles a bitter smile. "It's tough and training under Jiseong unnie isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world but we'll make it. I hope we will." I hope only I will...

THAT'S, WELL, INTERESTING TO HEAR. ANYWAY, HOW EXACTLY DID YOU GET SCOUTED FOR AMORE?

A laughter rings. "Speaking of which, it's really funny! Jiseong unnie saw me at this pet shop in Hongdae and when I recognized her, I immediately asked for a picture and autograph which she gladly complied." Jooyeon smiles, recalling the fond memories that changed her life. "She then asked if I was Cha Jooyeon of SMRookies and she later on asked me to drop by her company for an audition a few days later."

WOW, SONG JISEONG DOES PROVE HER TENACITY. HOW HONOURABLE. BUT YAWN, TELL ME, WHAT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING A MEMBER OF AMORE? IS IT THE PRESSURE, OR THE IMMEDIATE FAME? TELL ME.

Jooyeon pouts, yet again. "I think the fact that all members were handpicked by Jiseong unnie herself, it just proves that all of them are very very talented and if you were to not work hard, you'll fall behind them and basically be the black sheep of the team." she sighs, swiping her hair to the side. "The pressure that I have to be consistent in my hardwork everyday. Even when I want to take just a day off, I think about it a lot."

HOW ABOUT YOUR MEMBERS? DO YOU FEEL AS IF YOU'RE CONSTANTLY COMPETING WITH THEM EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE IN THE SAME GROUP?

She immediately shakes her head and a look of shock paints her face. "What are you talking about!" Jooyeon exclaims before laughing. "They're all precious people to me and I'd never see them as competitions. After all, we are all helping each other to grow, aren't we? I'm particularly close to Luli and Darla unnie." She gestures a heart sign on her fingers.

A smile etches itself on her features. Jooyeon seems genuine but only she knows that it's all fake, it's all just a lie. Of course she feels competitive around them. With Luli, someone who is more talented than she is and has a similar personality like her. And Jooyeon worries everyday that the other members will overtake her popularity.

NOW, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER AMORE? I MEAN, SINCE THE GROUP'S SCHEDULED FOR THREE YEARS ONLY, RIGHT?

"An actress, maybe?" Jooyeon says. "I have an interest in modelling but I'm too short... maybe I'll try to become a full time model for Stylenanda? I have always been fond of their brand anyway..." she blinks before rushly adding, "I'm not hinting anything, guys! Don't misunderstand!"
