Hard-working| There's a saying 'if you want it, earn it' and Soojung definitely follows that saying. She works hard to get what she wants. She's a top student during her school years and she's a great student council president. Soojung always try her best to get evrything get done and she is one of those people who'll try her best in everything and makes sure that she doesn't screw up anything. She would work her off to get what she wants and she always do it in fair way. She never cheat and doesn't like people who cheats. Caring| She makes sure that no one gets left behind because she herself doesn't like being left behind. Soojung always put a lot of cares on people around her and on everything that she does. BACKGROUND » 

Soojung was born in Peyongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea to SK Group chairman, Choi Taewon and the daughter of the 6th President of South Korea No Taewoo (Roh Taewoo), No Soyeong (Roh Soyeong). She was the youngest of out four with two older sisters and one older brother. Soojung's father is the current chairman of SK Group, South Korea's fourth largest conglomerate group in energy, telecom, trade, construction and semiconductors. Her mother is the daughter of the late president back in 1988-1993 and currently the director of Art Center Nabi. Her oldest sister Choi Yoonjung is five years older than her. She's currently working in a consultant company outside SK Group. Her second older sister, Choi Minjung is three years older than her and currently a Combat Intelligence Officer for the Republic of Korea Navy and serving in border defense. Her older brother and the only son of SK Group, Choi Hojung is one and a hlaf year older than Soojung. He's currently a master degree student for Technology and Policy Program at MIT. Hojung and Soojung both hold the important position in the company as their older sisters put their hands up from the company after they found out that their father had an affair back in 2011. Although her oldest sister Yoonjung still hold an important role in the company too, she decided to take another job outside SK Group.

Soojung enrolled in Cheongdam Elementary School. She's a bright and top student who represent her school for the National Science Olympic. She also a great pianist and singer. She has been learning piano since she was 4 and recieved classical vocal training since then. Her mother doesn't want her to be just a smart kid, she also wants her to love art just like she does. In 2005, her parents started to have a fight. Hojung and Soojung were the only two who stayed at home because their older sister was sent abroad to study. Her oldest sister was sent to Collège du Léman International School and her second older sister was sent to Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. Their mother don't want the kids to look at the miserable marriage life and decided to sent all of their children overseas as she has suspected her husband having an affair. Hojung was sent to Institut auf dem Rosenberg in late 2005 and a year later, Soojung was sent to Institut Le Rosey.

She enterest Rosey for their "Cadets' program, she met a lot of student from different countries. Le Rosey is a billingual boarding school, using English and French as their main language and have over thirty mother tongue languages. Students must be able to speak both English and French like a native. Soojung has this perfectionist trait of herself so she always came as the top student and even the student council's president for two years. She was quite popular among the students as she's also the main player for Rosey's tennis team and horse-riding. She also excels in golf. She's a type of person who will be very competitive at times like during finals or mid-term but very friendly in regular basis. Soojung loves interacting with people, she also love to observes people. Her intellegent bringing has been a wall for her, she knows the problem in her parents' marriage and decided to avoid any emotion that could affects her. She always uses her brain's theory to depict all feelings. She's a sarcastic person who would say anything in her head and hearts, she chooses to think over feeling and sometimes people whould thought that she's a control-freak because of that. During her school year, she never went home to visit her parents. Her other siblings decided to visit each other during holiday also visiting her mother in different places. Their relationship with their father stray since they were sent overseas. She was also a part of Rosey performing choir. She is a big fan of music and has been a great singer in the choir. Her love to music grows strong as she was a main pianist for Rosey's orchestra and the main singer for the choir. Le Rosey let the students to take music classes and prepares them to take exams for Royal Academy of Music in instrumental and singing. She passed the Grade 8 test for singing or vocal from ABRSM.

She graduated from Rosey at the age of 18 and enrolled in Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for a bachelor degree in business. During summer, she decided to take more courses so that she will graduated fast from Wharton. She graduated in 3 years from Wharton with GPA of 3.75. The real reason behind her fast-graduate thingy is to save her mother and let SK Group walk without her father who was sent to jail in 2013 for embezzlement. The boards reach her and beg to her to return fastly, same with her older brother. When she was 18 years old, she automatically has 5.75% shares of SK Group just like her siblings and had an important role in the group. The other directors and shareholders trust her and her siblings more than their father as he was known for his shady leadrship. Yoonjung promised to take care of the company until Minjung is 18 years old, then Minjung did the same to Hojung. Hojung and Soojung decided that they would take care of the group in place of their father and let their older sisters to do other things. Hojung and Soojung are the two most trusted people in SK, although they're still young people know that they have this business-trait growing inside them like their grandfather and the founder of SK Group, Choi Jonghyun. The favor towards the two rises after their father was imprisoned. Hojung decided to stay back and let Soojung to take part at the company because he knows that his sister doesn't want to be a CEO. Hojung thought that Soojung will continue their mother's director position for the museum.

Soojung went back to South Korea in June 2015 after recieved her Bachelor of Science in Economics (BS Econs), her father asked her to replace him and became the CEO of SK Group but she turned the offer down. She never talk to her father since he admitted to have a mistress and a child with that mistress that goes by the surename Kim back the same year she returned. Although her parents has sleep in seperate room since 2010, Soojung didn't expect her father to be 'such a jerk'. She and her siblings have told their parents that they don't want a divorce. Soojung was the person who support that idea to 'take a revenge out of her father' for abandoning them and being such a betrayer. Their unpeaceful life is a public secret but the siblings and their mother are close. Combining their shares, the five of them has 33.25% (Soojung and her sister has 5.75% each and Hojung owns 9% as he is the official heir to the group, their mother has 7%) of SK Group and full support from the board againts her father. The removal of their father was a talk among the boards but the siblings decided to never appeal the case againts the board although they know that their father will lose immediately.

Soojung wasn't an active executive and board members for SK Group but she keeps the group grows with being a consultant to the company. She mostly involved in various singing activity such as became a member of Seoul Chorus Center, the main singer for FEBC Choirs and Seoul Ladies' Singers. Around September 2015, she was scouted by a SM Scout after performing with the choir at Seoul Arts Center. he asked Soojung to come by the company and had an audition at SM, he said that the company has been watching Soojung since the first time she sang with Seoul Chorus Center. She took the audition and eventually join the company in the same month she was contacted. With her siblings' and mother's support (also her father's disagreement) she joined the company without letting anyone knows that she is the daughter of SK Group's chairman.

As she joined SM, she changed to be the consultant to SK and also to her brother, Hojung who took her previous position in SK. Soojung always want her life to be neat and structured, being a trainee is obviously tests her limit and put her control-freak trait aside as she would never know when she'll debut. She also took a master degree in Korea National University of Arts, Department of Composition for her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) started in 2016.

Her father isn't close to any of his children. They also took a distance with him, he always busy at the office and rarely spent times with his children. His children grew tired waiting for his 'love' and decided to distanced themselves from him. He's a perfectionist and very strict. He was imprisoned once and also the fact that he admitted to have a mistress and a kid with that mistress are two main reasons why his children never talk with him again. Unlike any other daughter, Soojung grows cold hearted towards her father and never talk to him since she was 12. Soojung hates him and vows that she'll never listen to his words anymore after the he admitted the affair. They never pictured in one event and the reason why she support her mother's decision to not divorcing him is to make his life harder, tying him with a rope called 'marriage' and let the boards turn againts him. Her mother is a very caring and matured woman. She loves her children and very close to them unline her husband. Her mother always took her out to watch an opera or teathre. The name Nabi for her art center was taken from Soojung loves to butterly which in Korean is Nabi. Her mother is the main influence that brings her decision to become a trainee in SM. She was a stay-home wife until 2004 when she realizes that her husband was cheating. She didn't want the kids to know about her marriage problem but the news broke out in 2010 and she has to explain it to the kids although they already know.

Her father hoped that Yoonjung could be the next heir in line but she decline his offer because she realizes the shady things her father had done. Trainee Life » 

Soojung was casted right after her performance with Seoul Chorus Center, she went through a private audition and quickly got accepted. Soojung is one of the fewest trainee who quickly got a recognition in such a little time of training. As she was a choral member, Soojung was asked to changed her vocalization. She spent 3 up to 4 hours for the vocal lessons, the vocal lessons focus more on how to make her voice match the Kpop scene but still keep her classical singing ability. The other trainees spent only 6 to 8 hours in dancing lesson. Soojung spent 10 until 12 hours, an extra of 4 hours for her dancing lessons. The trainers in SM sure that she could debut fastly seeing how talented her singing is so they pushed her hard in dancing. SM is definitely a place that fits Soojung's perfectionist personality. She spent her first three months in SM sleeping in the practices room and eating only banana and milk due her busy practice schedules. Soojung pushed herself to the limit, to make sure she won't regret her decision to join SM.

Soojung was scoute and joined SM at the age of 21, the age where most of the trainees or auditionee give up because that kind of age is impossible. Just like Baekhyun and Chen, Soojung got lucky and eventually match the environment. She is known in the vocal lessons and growing in dancing lessons. Though she just spent about a year or so in SM< her singing talent is way over the top. Soojung still struggling in dancing but she keeps growing in it. She wasnt a part of SM Rookies, she is trained under SM 'Star-in -the-making' incubation system which put her hidden visually from the fans. She met a lot of trainee with various talent and tries her best to make friend, her very first friend is Chanhyeok. She is close to several idols in SM due to her fluency in various languages and vocal talent. Although she was a hidden trainee (like Red Velvet Joy), she participated in several projects by SM or participated in the OST of SM's produced drama.

Soojung made a debut with the group and netizen quickly go through find her background, they eventually found her on Le Rosey's and Seoul Chorus Center's main website. They digged through her information and found out that she is indeed a chaebol daughter. SK Group admit the rumor and revealed that Soojung still has some influence in the company although she has been passive due her position as a trainee.

personality » Sehun is a very fun and full with jokes but very moody. A lot of people try to set his mood and don't dare to disturb him when he's in the mood because everyone knows that Sehun's mood is something that was hard to set. Sehun is very caring and undenieably charming. He could make anyone fall for him in seconds. At times, s said that he got PMS because he can get so sensitive. Matured at times, mostly childish though. Sehun is quite well-aware of everything, he knows when people around him are sad, happy, excited, or angry. But when he's not in the mood, he tends to act oblivious about it. Sehun can sense everything quickly and he can connect 'the puzzles' quickly. He's the first one who sense that one of s are leaving them. That's why he looked matured.

 

love story » Sehun met Soojung from Kai and Baekhyun, he wasn't attracted to her but as they began to hang out together he started to developed an interest in her. Same like him, Soojung wasn't the type of person who would fell in love quickly so she just felt attracted to Sehun after several months hanging out together with the other EXO members. They exchanged numbers and hang out a lot, just the two of them. Sehun could comfort Soojung and Soojung is the one who console Sehun. Sehun always try to be there for her and Soojung always worry about him when she hears that he was injured during a concert. Sehun promised to go to her admission ceremony which he did and they knew each other's family already. They're close and people around them know about that. Whenver they meet in a show or starred in th same show, they would laughing together on something that not a lot of people know. They were dubbed as 'best bestfriends' by a show because of their closeness. That's why whenever they're out, the fans won't complain because they already know that they are best friends.
