there is never a time in his life when a goofy smile doesn't adorn the face of popular sunshine boy, nam howon. his features glow with bright confidence and youth with the added bonus of being really attracitve, placing him near the top of the ranks of most popular guys at hwajoong. his hair is a fading black in contrast to his fair skin and white smile, his broad shoulders framing his tall stature and long limbs. in summary, one would say that howon looks nothing his age. nonetheless, anyone would agree his looks can charm.

TIMELINE :

1999  nam howon finally born after eight long hours of labor, his mom still shows him her stretch marks & reminds him of her sacrifice

2003  howon breaks his arm while running around the house, waiting for his little sister to come home from the hospital

2004  howon gets electrocuted by sticking a metal fork in the power socket and swears to never adopt his parents' line of work, his words still in effect to this day

2009  his parents find jobs in a new museum, howon becomes increasingly interested in dance

2014  howon is accepted into hwajoong and pursues his deep-rooted interest in dance, dubbed sunshine boy by everyone because everyone loves him and his cute smile

2016 / 17  howon sneaks into a restricted area of his parents' favorite museum (aka the one the work in) with some other troublemakers and wakes up to find that he was able to control the wind, and later the rain, and later, thunderstorms

 

CONNECTIONS :

남호정  howon's little sister. calls him hyung. attends jeonha middle school. they met when she was born and he almost dropped her.... after that he just watched her from the crib instead of trying to interact. she and her brother share a similar personality, so they get along very well. she isn't fond of taking pictures, so howon takes pictures of her anyway. he hasn't told her about his new gift yet, but she noticed it's always a bit windy whenever the two leave the house together.

 

김로운  howon's best friend. nine feet tall. third year at hwajoong high school. rowoon is the epitome of the word "prince," charismatic, charming, handsome, tall, the full package. when he and howon are together, they're called the princely pair and get lost in their own world, filled with strange conversation topics and hypothetical situations. rowoon is awkward around new people, but when you get to know him, he turns into a ball of mush at your fingertips. he's very loyal to his friends and trusts everything they say to the point where they start to make fun of him for being so gullible. rowoon interns for howon's parents at the museum and tells howon things about the museum he isn't supposed to know.

 

안수현  howon's favorite underclassman. had no idea her dad worked with his parents until now. second year at hwajoong high school. whenever howon walks around campus with his friends, suhyun's friend group is the first destination on his list. they met when one of her friends dragged her along to go talk to him and instead of talking to her friend, suhyun and howon just started chatting each other up. they're in good relations with each other, maybe good friends because of their social statuses. fun fact of the day: suhyun and howon were almost a thing but they both swerved bc they were afraid of messing up a really nice friendship.

 

TRIVIA :

 bottles up his emotions and only lets others see his good side so they don't worry about him. it works, but he has some difficulty dealing with his emotions.

 has a habit of tapping his fingers and bouncing his leg. can't stay still for his life.

 panual, doesn't lean in a specific direction of preference. isn't very open with his uality, so most people assume he's straight.

 his music taste is very chill despite his outward personality being so hype!! and up!!!!!

 some people at school run a fansite for him, but he has no idea. the people running the fansite would probably die of embarrassment if he ever found out.

 on the school's dance team, is center for most pieces because he is both handsome and talented!!! he hopes to pursue a career in dance.

DESCRIPTION :

user is able to sense, create, shape and manipulate storms, including strong wind, hail, thunder and lightning (a thunderstorm), heavy precipitation (snowstorm, rainstorm), heavy freezing rain (ice storm), strong winds (tropical cyclone, windstorm), or wind transporting substance through the atmosphere as in a dust storm, blizzard, sandstorm, etc.

 

REACTION :

when he woke up, he didn't feel any different; maybe colder than he usually was in the morning, but not much different than how he usually is. once he exited his house and went into the cold outdoors, he blew out the air from his lungs out of habit and was scooted a couple of feet away from where he initially was. curious, he blew again, harder, and was virtually flying in the other direction. he had a hard landing, but the pain hadn't registered until the initial shock faded (which was a few hours later when he already arrived at school and wondered why his back and shoulders hurt so much).

when suhyun and the others asked him what powers he had, he said that he controlled wind, and only wind. they found it a little strange that wind was his only power, his demonstration being only the blowing of air out of his mouth to make him travel across campus. they made him try to use his hands, so he jutted his fingers into the air and shouted, "wind!!"; but wind did not come from his fingertips. lightning flashed and it began to drizzle only in their area, getting all of them very wet. he jumped back and yelped in panic and fear of his own abilities. eventually, he made it go away and tried to blow-dry everyone, but upon suhyun's request, he decided it wasn't the best idea.

later, when he arrived back home, he laid face-down on his bed and groaned for a while, the gloom outside reflecting his mood. nam howon, sunshine boy, had just gained an ability that he didn't want, and a very destructive one at that. for the first time in a while, howon was drained and very sensitive.

 

CONTROL :

because howon is so cheerful and chipper most of the time, he has a hard time bringing his powers out. his tempestakenesis is a type mostly influenced by his negative emotions, which don't show unless he's fed up and his bottled up anger or sadness comes all out at once. the group has to teach him vulnerability around other people, not just his showing others his smile and hoping they don't sense his sadness. after all, the clouds have to clear in order for the sun to really shine.

 

TRIVIA :

 when he wants to practice his powers, he and the gang have to go to an empty lot so he doesn't hurt anyone or destroy anything, not that he actually can, but just in case something happens.

 his powers are not easy to control, as there are different aspects to keep under tight restraint, such as rain and snow. with the added obstacle of his feelings, howon has a lot to work on.

 sometimes, when he sneezes, the tips of his fingers spark a little bit.
