@CHORONGCHORONG. story time! i remember one time my friends and i snuck into this house party and we were chilling in the kitchen and i just,,,, decided to take spices from the cupboard? like i didn't leave the house with them or anything i was just walking around the party with them and then the host sees me with his spices and he gets SO MAD like he calls me a fatass and kicks me out of the party. all because i took his spices.

@CHORONGCHORONG. tmi story time with chorong but when i was like 6 my grandma had a cat okay and one day as a joke i just,,,, pooped in the litter box. and then like my mom and dad and grandparents were super concerned for the cat's health so they took him to the vet and it turns out he had a tumor. so yes i may have pooped in a litter box but i was six and also i saved my grandparents' cat's life.

ONE TIME i was hanging out with this guy i liked back in like last year of middle school or whatever and we were in his room chilling and somehow we started making out. but the thing is, he was grounded and wasn't supposed to have anyone over and his mom was supposed to work until 7. well, she got back early and he like pushed me into his closet as his mom came into his room like "i thought i heard someone else in here" and like you best believe i was scared because i knew if that woman found me, we'd both be dead. she opened the closet door and my immediate reaction was to throw a gucci flip flop at her face and R U N. if you're reading this, tell your mom i said sorry for hitting her with a gucci flip flop.

lee chorong makes her artist's debut in early february. as a child, she is fearless and contently offbeat, much like she is now. as a child, she possesses quite the character, much like she does now. growing up, she was always close to her father. not to say she doesn't love her mother as much as the other lee children, but her father has always been her go-to confidant. maybe it was because he was around more often, mom was always working. maybe it was because she seemed to be his favorite child.
he encouraged her to start seriously pursuing art. he taught her that she doesn't have to be afraid just because she's a girl, that just because she's a girl doesn't mean she can't be wild and brave and confident. she never seemed to mind the bottle that always seemed to be in his hand, because his other hand was patting her on the back and praising her, telling her to never give up. and besides, alcohol itself is never the problem. whereas mom saw her rambunctous attitude and "harmless" endeavours burdensome and dangerous, dad encouraged her to explore more, to trust herself. mom was the one who scolded her for doing dangerous things and causing trouble, while dad was the one to high five her when mom's back was turned.
okay so maybe she was a bit of a problem child. maybe she did cause some trouble in school, like that time she put worms is kwon yoomi's hair during recess and that time she used all the classroom desks as a barricade to lock her teacher out of the room and the time she got tag prohibited because of that one time a kid's braces got stuck in another kid's zipper. but it was all in the name of innocent fun, and dad understood that. mom and dad fought a lot and she felt like most of the time it was about her. and to be fair, a lot of times it was.
it never occured to her until recently as to why mom and dad had such polarizing opinions on her behavior. dad probably couldn't be bothered to give a damn in lecturing her, so he took the easier route of enabling her, making less work for him. and for someone who relied on his wife so much, he felt the need to parade around as if he was king, anything he said shall be so and if he said his chororo should be young and rambunctious, she will.
when the divorce hit, she was 13. and despite what her siblings might think, she actually took it pretty hard. she was the only one who seemed to miss their dad, and ever the astute chorong could tell that it would be better to not bring that up. chorong began withdrawing from her family emotionally. she always avoids the topic of the divorce, no matter who asks her. and with all the pent-up emotions of blame and frustration and confusion, she began to grow even more wild. she started joining protests, she started sneaking out at night and going to parties, she started doing everything she could that wouldn't get her labeled as a delinquent.
mom grew exasperated with her, not knowing how to control chorong. at the same time, chorong had all these complicated emotions and frustrations at her mother and father and the divorce and her siblings. and when her mother confronted her about her behavior, it turned into a fight and chorong blew up and broke down.
"why?" she barked, cutting off whatever her mom had to say. "why did you just leave him instead of trying to help him? why did you... why did you take away the only person in this family i can actually talk to?"
mom didn't know what to say, this all seemed so unexpected of chorong that she felt it was fake, a diversion used to get her out of trouble. and then she saw the tears, and she felt sorry. sorry because she thought chorong's strife was insincere, sorry because she didn't notice what chorong was going through.
they went out for some street food and sat at those tables outside of convience stores, talking. mom explained everything. that it was easier for the family to simply cut him out of their lives. that getting him helped would've been a long process that would've cost so much money. mom explained all of dad's flaws, and it was somewhere in that moment that she realized the divorce was a good choice. "and chorong? i will never make you pick a side. it's only natural for you to want to stay in contact with your father, and i won't prohibit you from doing that. mainly because you'd do it anyway." after that night, chorong wasn't that upset about anything.
tl;dr : the lee child who is terribly aware of her father's flaws and addiction, but still cares about him.
chorong is currently in her second year of high school and attends an art school. she still lives with her mom. she spends a lot of time working on her art and her room is filled with art supplies and works in progress. she's a member of the art club and she enjoys taking various classes in different art fields.
