Lots of girl groups in Korea are basically the same: cute, super girly, wearing the exact same things and have incredibly high cutesy voices. I find that genetic and boring and overused to be honest. It doesn't seem natural to me.

Groups such as BLACKPINK, MAMAMOO, 2NE1: I like their concepts. They are original and they stand out in my opinion. They are groups I always enjoy coming back to as they represent everything I believe girls should be.

I don't have anything strongly against the cute girl groups, but I just can't seem to enjoy it as much. It's not my style, not my music. All those groups are just too similar to each other and that I don't like. It's like they can't come up with original concepts for them. In sorry, but I honestly couldn't tell GFriend and Lovleyz apart when they first debuted because their concepts are almost identical to me.

Recently I noticed there has been a rise in girl group debuts: that's good. But I just need more variation. It's a tough industry and so many groups disband after releasing only one or two songs and that's sad. And that's coming back to my point of lack of originality: so many groups don't have the chance to stand out because they're not from a big company that would guarantee success and they don't have concepts that stand out so they fall into the shadows of groups from larger companies with similar concepts and are thus not noticed.

It's sad...

I just read through this, and honestly I understand some of the points made. I'm an indian dancer myself, so I always think about the lack of hip movement in kpop choreographies haha

But yeah, I think the girl groups who really set themselves apart from the stereotypes are groups like 2NE1, Mamamoo, and a few others
