AFF Questionnaire because I can't sleep :)

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?

I made this username when I was about 17. I copied my friend Katrina who always goes by ohhhkat, and I just used my middle name, Kenneth.

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

A story I wrote called "That Strange Cat" with a friend of mine, it's got 2.7k subs.

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

It's a picture of Mark because he is A+ handsome.

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

I don't really have a bestie per se? I don't know, I feel like I only talk to maybe two or three people from this website. Nobody really talks to me other than like Alexis lol. :/

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Ummm, there was this one Kaisoo fic that I used to read like every other week just because it was so well written, but unfortunately the author deleted it along with all of their other stuff and I didn't save a copy of it so I'm :(

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

50.

7. What AU do you find yourself writing about most?

Romance. Lol. Lots and lots of romance. I'm a er for love, what can I say :)

8. How many friends do you have?

190.

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I kind of want to write a story about a physically/emotionally abusive relationship but I don't know how it will turn out. I also do not want to glorify that type of a relationship by making it like ty or ~hot~ because I am so against those types of relationships. So we'll see. Maybe I'll just write a really angsty sad fic about abuse and add trigger warnings.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Writing, always. I think I could be better at it if I did it more, but I think something I really need to improve on is READING. I need to read more stuff from good authors to improve on my own stuff, but I always get sidetracked. :/

11. How many subscribers do you have?

13633 right now, but I usually get 30-40 a day.

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

16 so far. I deleted three though.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

None! I have drabbles and drafts and stuff but nothing that can be considered a story. Most of the stuff I write down is on my iPhone notes. I write down ideas and stuff there.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I sort of just answered this, but yeah I write down ideas all the time. Usually I write down song lyrics I really like, then I form ideas off of the lyrics/song and I start to write down settings and feelings and actions. Then from there I kind of just piece together the story. I usually write the endings first before I start the story.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yup, have one right now called That Strange Cat, and then there's another one I'm supposed to have updated like a trillion years ago but I'm a horrible person called A New Friend and I hope Alexis doens't kill me. :(

16. How did you discover AFF?

I can't remember, haha. I think I was going to try and read a story about Mark and Jackson together, and I clicked a link to a story on here (I had only heard of Ao3 before) so when I found this I was like "Ah cool! Lots of stories!" but thennnnnn, I decided to write my first fic like maybe 2 weeks later. And the rest is history.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

No? I feel like maybe I flood the Markson tag a bit too much but other than that, no, not at all.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

No. Lol.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Not necessarily. But there was one author named Kaspian who I adored as a writer.

20. How many karma points do you have?

3083. I just spent 12k on an advertisement last week that literally did nothing though, so there's that lol

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Just write. Write write write. Even if you hate it, just keep going. The more you fester in how bad you think it is, the less you're going to enjoy writing and the less you'll want to write in the future. Don't let it deter you. I should take my own advice though, haha.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I plan them all! Some not as much as others, but there's always at least a little game plan going in. I usually always know how it's going to end. Except for Hot Streak... that story sort of wasn't even supposed to be a chaptered fic, so I kinda just make that one up as I go along.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

Someone told me they don't like the way I portray Jungkook in my story because they think he seems too feminine. Lol. I just laughed because like... you're reading about a gay version of Jungkook that is in love with Jimin and you don't expect a little bit of femininity? Sorry but JK isn't exactly the epitome of masculinity hahaha. Also, I portray him exactly how I want... that's literally the definition of fiction.

I just said "It's my story and I'll write him as I like, thanks for your concern." because honestly what do you want from me? Want me to delete the whole story and rewrite it? Nah. If they gave me helpful criticism like "your chapters are too long, your grammar is really bad" etc I can work with that. But if they don't like how I write out my chars then they simply need to be reading a different fic where the character is written however they prefer.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

There aren't many things I shy away from writing, so I wouldn't say I have a "hard" time writing certain things. But if I had to answer that I'd say maybe fight scenes? Just cause I have only really written like one? lol.

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

Well I am in the midst of finishing Hot Streak and also Playing with Fire. Then once those two are done I'm going to focus all my abilities into finishing The Heart Wants What it Wants, because I want that to be a chaptered fic with a good storyline.

And then maybe some one shots here and there :)

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

I am bad for going halfway through a chaptered fic then getting a huge inspiration and going off and starting a new story and losing confidence in my other one. Lol. It's a work in progress...

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

I used to, but I found out I will always disappoint myself. So I snapped back into reality and now I write when/if I get the time and if I actually have fun doing it. I don't write when I don't want to becasue it stresses me out and I don't like feeling like writing is a job.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Oh my god yes. I cringe at some of the things I wrote a year or two ago.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

Aw I really really like The Only Exception. :) And also Whispers in the Dark, my most recent one. Just because I was able to write it so quickly because everything flowed so well.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

Walking Separate Ways and All Over You because those two were rushed and don't really go anywhere. I wrote them quickly and I don't think I did them justice. I sort of want to delete them both, tbh.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

I want to actually write a real book, to be honest. So maybe in five years I'll have the skills to actually do it.

32. How many upvotes do you have?

440

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Choosing who to write about: Markson. Lol.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Finding motivation to continue writing when you're mentally tapped and have writer's block.

35. Why do you write?

I love telling stories and I love reading, so I want to be able to give people the joy that I get from reading about things that may not necessarily ever happen in real life.

Boy, kudos to you. Writing is hard, I should know....("^.^) just remember to not push yourself too much! I love your writing and I can truthfully say that your writing is very eye-opening. I always find different ways to write things or how to say them from reading your stories, so just know that there's someone who appreciates it XD but yea, keep it up and I hope your writer's block goes away and you can finish Hot Streak (this was the fic that lead me to your account, so yea...I'm excited for this one! Lol)

There were some good answers in there. I mean, like how to work things out for your story and plot them out. Boy, I have a hunch that its gonna come handy for me xD
So, thank you :)
