nothing was really amiss when carrie woke up. other than her roommate being happier than usual when carrie started humming a happy tune. then again, jaeshin was almost always happy, so carrie thought nothing of it.
suhyun approached carrie that day. carrie was a blubbering mess, but she managed to tell suhyun that nothing weird happened to her. suhyun left carrie alone that day, but she still watched her, just in case.
days after that, it seemed like roles were reversed. instead of carrie longingly watching suhyun in the hallways, it was suhyun watching carrie's every move, trying to find out what carrie's power was.
suhyun noticed how everyone seemed to be much much happier once they started talking to the girl. or how people seem to mirror carrie's emotion once the girl spoke to them. suhyun had a small idea of what carrie's abilities, but what she observed could also be pinned on how seemingly everyone was close to the girl. it made sense that they would empathise with the girl.
suhyun heard that carrie was singing in the talent show finals. she went, since she was still observing the girl. after watching the whole auditorium bawl once carrie started singing, and bawling herself, suhyun had no doubt that carrie also had superpowers.
unsurprisingly, carrie won the talent show, and everyone had become chipper on hearing carrie's ecstatic acceptance speech.

the morning after the talent show, the same group of students that entered the restricted area in the museum approached carrie. carrie didn't believe them saying that she had superpowers, which in turn, turned everybody incredulous. (cause her tone of voice had been one of incredulity)
when carrie saw the group literally change their emotions at the tone of her voice, she entertained the idea of her having powers(but didn't completely believe it yet), and watched the other students demonstrate their own powers.
carrie was then asked to change the tone of her voice to differing emotions. she only believed that she had this power when she was speaking in an angry tone and one of the students broke something.

carrie grabbed her bag and headed straight home. once she was there, she locked herself in her room.
she didn't use her voice for a whole week. when she was asked why, she would point at her throught and pretend she had a sore throat.
eventually, she'll get over her shock, and agree to join suhyun's group, but till then, we'll see what happens
so, basically, she influences other people's emotion by the tone she speaks in. there's really no mastering anything in this power, as it's very reliant on just talking.
the effects of her power are amplified when she actually feels the emotion she speaks in and not just voice acting.
just to be clear, singing, humming, and talking are those that can change other people's emotion. carrie can try not influencing people by being monotonous, but this is carrie we're talking about. she's can't not talk in a sing-song voice.
