So I'm still a student and I have a work to do in English. I have chosen Languages as t subject and I have a few questions to ask you.

1. Do you have more than one mother language? If yes, which one and the reason ?

(Familly, Situation --> for example: Your country have two languages, so you have to learn both of it)

[Please mention where you are from and what is your first mother language or only one]

2. Which languages did you learn and why?

3. What is your TOP 3 of the languages that we absolutely need to learn?

4. What is the importance of learning languages in our society ?

I will be realy happy you answer these questions.

Thank you !

1. mother tongue- Mandarin
Father tongue- Maori
My father's from NZ and mother is from Beijing originally. I learnt both growing up.

2. I learnt English as a third for the widespread of acceptance.

3. Mandarin, English, German/French are important. Fast developed countries with unimaginable opportunities await for liguistics. In my area, demand for Teachers who can train English as a Second Language (ESL) is high. Arabic is not bad either. The pay is high for translators knowing Arabic and English simultaneously. German because Germany has scholarship oportunities for German speaking students. French is a popular language spoken in Canada, US, France and many parts of Eurasia.

4. Language opens up barriers. It helps people to express themselves in different ways dynamically. Knowing several languages is often considered as an intellectual quality. The demand for multi language speaking people is never ending.

i hope this helped.

1. I'm Filipino, so my mother language is Tagalog. There are different dialects where I'm from though, I have a fair amount of friends and relatives who speak a dialect called Visaya, but I personally only know Tagalog.

2. I learned English as my second language because I moved to Canada at a young age, learned French for 4 years because it's the second language of Canada, and started learning Japanese this year because I was more interested in it than taking French.

3. I think everyone should be able to speak their mother language, english, and the native language of the country an individual lives in.

4. Learning languages in our society allows us to communicate with eachother in a variety of ways, and it also allows speakers to get used to the culture it hails from as well.
