ONE - SHOT

There were so many things he didn’t want to remember and help her forget. The wounds both shared, those clearly visible and whose which never shown on the body, but were so deep their hearts kept bleeding.

Only if mother lived.” Taehyung thought while looking at the old, worn out picture of his mother holding him, a baby at her lap. “Maybe, then father would’ve been different?” he helplessly wondered.

How much destruction can one person bring onto another?” He thought with clenched fists, while trying to help his sister treat her bruised cheek.

Is there nothing that can make him change?” his sister asked.

Why did mother have to die?!” she screamed at top of her lungs.

As she was still a minor, Taehyung couldn’t simply escape with his sister without any further consequences. Whenever his father wasn’t home, abused physically and mentally, Taehyung couldn’t stand sitting in between those cursed walls and left.

He could find solace only between his friends

Those who accepted him the way he was.

Hiding his suffering behind a smile, he never thought of letting them know. Ashamed… he kept everything inside, his anger, tears, doubts and pain.

They were everything he had and cherished more than even his own life. Something so pure and precious as their friendship couldn’t be sullied with the evil his own father brought to his life – Taehyung thought.

I don’t want them to know.” he said to himself when a first thought of fighting back came to Taehyung’s mind.

Usually it was Taehyung who was tormented during their father’s drunken rage. He never fought back so father wouldn’t have even thought about touching his sister. Keeping her safe was the only thing that stopped Taehyung from leaving.

One night everything changed.

The dark, wounded side of his soul – pushed Taehyung forward when she was about to be hit. He didn’t even know when he grabbed the father’s empty soju bottle and crushed its edge to next aim the drunk man in front of him.

The world he had shattered, just like the bottle. "I'm no different than him..." Taehyung thought while looking at the blood on his shaking hands.

How could he let such evil be born in him? How could he let it live?

His friends couldn’t forgive themselves for being so short-sighed. Even though each had his won suspicions – neither thought of asking Taehyung before, thinking of and waiting for the right moment.

Now it was too late.

No more smiles, no sound of his laughter and warmth of the boy they thought of sharing future with. “Lets stay like this till the end. All of us forever.” Jimin used to dream while speaking loudly, when the seven of them were together.

Now it was too late and it hurt too much to reminiscence about those words.

What if there is a way?” Namjoon asked when other five found him hidden in the darkest corner of the town’s library. The book he had in his hands certainly didn’t look like others. Odd covers with wooden ornaments; thin, red lines coming from the corners and linking in the middle.

What are you saying?”

The hope… do we have any?”

What if there’s a way of bringing back the ‘light’ his soul was?” Namjoon repeated with red and glossy eyes.

What if there was a way of bringing their dear friend back to life?

Even though nothing can be done for free, would they still decide to sacrifice their own ‘lights’ only to see Taehyung again.

To tell him everything they didn’t yet?

Would they be able to enter the world of dead – even if it meant to never come back again?

To see that smile.” Each though, feeling grief and extreme longing for their seeing their brother.

I hope that you liked it ^^

Damn those onion cutting ninjas. I really like the contrast between the gifs and the imagery of your words. Though it was short it had a lot of meaning
