I can't believe in three days I'll be the BIG 40. I can't wrap my head around being 40. At 10 am on April 6th, I'll be 40 years old. Ugh. 

I went and ordered my cake last week because school opened after Spring break and I'll be busy with work and school, so I won't have time to order my cake. Of course, it's a Frozen cake. 

Not sure if my family is doing anything special for my 40th birthday. I know my brother keeps saying he wants to do something for me, but I'm not sure. When my birthday comes, I have to get a bouquet of red roses (my favorite) and some balloons...Frozen of course. Not to mention, I always get one balloon that is odd from all the other Frozen balloons.

Last year I had a Hello Kitty balloon with Frozen balloons.

The year before was Bumble Bee (Transformers) balloon with Frozen balloons.

Mom is thinking of buying a 40th birthday balloon, plus she wants to buy a candle that says 40. 

Of course, we aren't going out, because my mom and I will be celebrating our birthdays on Saturday. Her birthday isn't until the 22nd of April, but I'm going to be busy with work and school so we need to do this before I get swamped with things. 

I told my brothers that they have to buy me a card for my birthday, but I know they will wait til the last minute...they do EVERY year. 

Mom and I have this tradition we do every year for our birthdays and Christmas. We always buy 2 cards for each other. 

One card will be read with the family.

The other card will be read between each other. This card will pretty much say what we want to say but can't put it in words. We both end up in tears when we read it because it's beautiful. 

We started doing it 7 years ago when my mom was told she had cancer. Since then, we have gotten closer and we try to spend as much time together as we can. We decided to do this with the cards and it has stuck. It doesn't matter how much the cards are, it's the words that are written that mean a lot. 

Anyway, when my birthday comes, I'll make sure to take some pictures of the cake and balloons so I can show it on Facebook and on AFF.

I just wanted to mention also that I never thought my birthday was very special until I found out that Ken (VIXX) and Mingyu (Seventeen) share my birthday as well. So, I'm so happy to see that.
