A Humble Loser Or A Boastful Winner?

I often wonder, what is it like to be a winner? Being me, I am not always at the top. To clinch the top spot is not me so you will find me in the middle of the range. Not low, not high either. So I started pondering, why I rarely sit at the throne? Maybe if I sit there, I would be a dictator and think that I am better than everyone. Maybe I would ignore others and focus on my victory.

Honestly, being first is pressurising to me. I would like to be second, but not first. I once top the class for the major exam and I was very wary of approaching others. Some of my friends did not do well so when I was asking them how were they feeling, they shoved me away, putting their guards up when I was around. "We know you secured the first place, why bother asking about our results?" they hissed. So I can't be a caring winner? Do winners always look boastful? I was proud of myself but I did not rub it on anyone.

You know there is always that one house that always win during sports day at school? Well I am not in that team but when once my house won, the all-time winner house could not accept it and scoffed at our victory. "If only there is a captains ball match, we could have won." they scowled. It would be nice if they could be a good sport about it. A humble loser. Plus they won so many times. It wouldn't kill anyone if other houses won once.

So I think at the end of the day, its great to be the winner once in a while but attitude is also important. Be a good a sport and stay humble always. Sometimes its hard to maintain our overwhelming feelings when we are up there but hey, the ones who don't make it tried their best as well. So why not acknowledge their effort too? After all, it is better to be a humble loser than a boastful winner.

A+ on your thoughts.
Winners will always seem boastful to sore losers.
