haneul, born as cho hyojin was born on may 30, 2000 in seoul, south korea. her family is consists of her parents and older brother. she came from well-rich family. haneul's dad worked as a music composer in south korea while her mom is a dance teacher. her older brother, is a university student and a part-time model. since haneul was a kid, her brother who always took care of her. her parents rarely at home because they always busy with their works. but honestly, it's for their children's good and comforts. they still care about their children, secretly. whatevery haneul wanted, her dad would gave to her, like anything. at home, haneul and her brother were taking care of the house and cooking everyday. she then became independent since she was young. she almost did everything by herself.

at school, she's kind of popular because she was known as jessica jung look-alike. she got many attention from the students and teachers. plus, she's active in sports and good as well. she took part in every sports and loves sports very much. academics? she's not very good yet not bad at it. she onlt got an average grades and didn't care about study. and of course, she had some haters because she is pretty and look-alike jessica jung. they also spread a rumor that she had a plastic surgery. but she ignored them and still treated them nicely in equal.

actually, she's interested in dance since she was 4. everytime she heard music, she would dance to it happily. her mom recorded it and show it to her when she's grown up. she had never took any dance classes. she just followed her mom to the school and watched the student praticing. that talent already built in herself since her mom is good in dancing. she really likes to dance because it's make her feel great and fresh.

when she was 10, she accidentally watched snsd's into the new world 1st asia tour, where she watched hyoyeon's solo dance. she was fascinated by hyoyeon's dancing skills and made her amazed. when the video was over, she automatically clapped her hands proudly. since then, she became a big fan of hyoyeon. she literally watched all hyoyeon's dance videos. she learnt the dance steps as well. she really wanted to be like hyoyeon one day.

in 2012, she decided to join an audition at sm entertainment to fulfill her dream to be in the same company with hyoyeon. but unfortunately, she failed because she only prepared dancing and couldn't sing. she was very upset at first but she had never give up. her brother comforted her and told her to try big hit entertainment, a place that his friend joined. she never heard the company name anywhere. she wasn't agreed because she really want to be in a same company with hyoyeon. after thinking many times, she decided to join big hit entertainment in 2013. the moment when the judges asked her what is her talent, she said dance. the judge the music randomly as she danced spiritly. she luckily passed because the judges satisifed and impressed with her dance skills.

as she became a trainee, she took singing lesson and improved it everyday. lastly, she was positioned as a main dancer and vocalist in cupid.
