a true, creepy, story

This story actually happened to me and my family. No one was hurt, but what happened was just creepy and unsettling. If you're of the faint of heart don't read this. Click back to where you started. If you're strong enough to continue, well enjoy.

A couple of years ago, back when I was around 13 or 14, I lived with my grandmother. I've been living with her ever since I was adopted by her and my grandfather (my mother passed away in the mid-spring of '05). It was during the fall season gradually entering winter. In my state and city it would get around the average of 65 to 70 degrees during the day. At night it would drastically lower to nearly 50 degrees. I know it's not the coldest temperature, but it would freeze anyone if they were to step outside during the chilly night.

Anyways, my grandmother always had this interest in watching paranormal TV shows. Like Ghost Hunters, A Haunting, and other shows related to the ghouls. I don't like hearing about ghosts or even the mentioning of them. Though one night, my grandmother called me into her bedroom. She was laying in the bed when she says this to me, "I think I hear music." Usually I would just tell my grandmother, "You're just hearing things." or "I don't hear any music." Anything to just throw her off about talking about creepy things to me. What she said next had me unsettled. "I hear music coming from the vent." In each room of our house there's an air vent, my grandmother's was right beside her bed. I grew scared and decided to end the conversation with, "I'm going to bed, I have school tomorrow." I told her goodnight and I went to sleep.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I was up until around I'd say 2 in the morning before I could finally get some sleep in. I woke up and got dressed for school at around 7:00 then left to catch my school bus at 7:50. Still the thought of what my grandmother told me the night before was in my head. "I think I hear music." was all I heard while at school that day.

A few days later it was the weekend and my younger cousins, who were around 8 to 10 years old, were outside playing. I don't like being outside so I stayed inside of the house in my bedroom on my laptop as always. It was in the afternoon when I heard my younger cousins running into the house, yelling for my grandmother's name. I jumped, startled by their screaming and quickly shut off my sound on my laptop to hear what they were saying. I rushed out of my room and went into the kitchen where my cousins are waving the arms around saying nonsense. My grandmother told them to be quiet and she looked at me. "What the hell is going on? Why are they shouting?" I yelled to my grandmother, and she explains to me, "The kids were playing outside and they were going to into the backyard to play on the swingset, when they saw a man leaving out from the crawlspace of the house."

What the ? My house has a crawlspace that is only to be used whenever one of our air ducts to our vents go out. We never go to that crawlspace door, let alone bother it. One of my cousins went on to describe the guy, "He was a black guy, he wore some sort of jacket, and was leaving out when we came back there." My cousins stayed in the house for the remainder of the day, at least until my grandfather came back from work around 7 o'clock that night. My grandmother told him what happened that day and he said he was going to see about the crawlspace door.

He went into the backyard, my brother tagging with him, and they saw the crawlspace door lock has been broken. The bolt snapped right off the hinges, and when they opened the door they were shocked by what they saw. Inside of the crawlspace was a radio, blankets to create a makeshift bed, and a few items.

The next day my grandfather called the police, and reported to them about what he had found. They came out to the house and my grandfather showed them the crawlspace door. When they opened it, the guy was sleeping on the bed. To shorten it, the police officer asked for the guy to pack his things and leave the premises. My grandfather could have pressed charges against the guy for trespassing but he didn't.

Apparently he had been living underneath our house for a week and a half. He thought our house was abandoned, and since it was cold outside he needed a place to stay at. He left from our house never to be seen again. We replaced the lock on our crawlspace door soon afterwards. What really got to me was, why didn't our neighbors notice this? We live in a pretty nice neighborhood. Much like a surburban neighborhood. Most of the neighbors surrounding our house were either veterans, military retirees, and growing families. We even have a neighborhood watch comittee. Kind of ironic right?

Besides from that, I'm honestly glad that guy is gone and this was over.

damn this remind of a movie, cant recall the name. so the story start with a two siblings decide to stay over their never before seen grandparents for a summer holiday. unwillingly their single mum just let them be.so weird thing start happening like they were asked to sleep and close the bedroom door aftr 9pm and dont open ever aftr 9pm etc.

fast forward got one time they play hide and seek with their grandpa and the lil bro hide under the airvent /crawlspace under the house. so when he turn back ,he saw the grandma ws crouching on the floor and then suddenly the grandma starting crawling quickly towards the boy. the boy managed to crawl aside so the grandma just continue crawling towards exit.

haha this just remind me of ur story.
