Sooyeon is a very simple girl with high dreams. She has the beauty and charisma but still she remained humble even after her debut. She still talks to everyone around her like a friendly person she is. She can be boyish sometimes but she keeps it hidden and acts girly on cam. She is known for being cheerful and loud which is good but sometimes, can be irritating. 

She is known to be emotional too. She cries over simple fights and late night korean dramas, which is adorable to some people. She cannot take bashes from haters very easily unlike the other members but she tries her best to cope with it. 

One of Sooyeon's negative trait is being lazy. She orders people to do things for her. That's why people knows her as Dreamcatcher's laziest member and she doesn't even deny that fact. 

 

background 

Choi Sooyeon was born in the province of  Daegu, South Korea. She was raised by her Grandparents at the early stages of her life while her parents work in Seoul. She grew up with her brother, Seungcheol, under their Grandparents' care.  At the young age of 5, Sooyeon was taught by her Grandma how to sing. She sings old songs that was popular in the province and that made Sooyeon interested in music and eventually made singing into one of her hobbies. Sooyeon studied in Daegu for her primary years. She was even part of the school choir at 3rd grade and was the youngest member but she had to quit when her parents decided to finally take her and her brother to Seoul.

Sooyeon disagreed at first and didn't want to leave her Grandparents alone, especially her Grandmother but they pursuaded her saying that she could accomplish her dream of being a singer there in Seoul. She eventually agreed and went to Seoul to study. At the age of 14, she started auditioning to entertainment companies but she wasn't easily accepted. She pursued on her dream, not giving up even with the rejections that she got on her first attempts. 

She was accepted in Jellyfish Entertainment when she was 15 years old. Her training started from then on. During her trainee days, Sooyeon found herself being enticed with the world of acting and eventually planned on being an actress too. She had the talent for acting so she debuted first as an actress before as an idol. Sooyeon loved being in the spotlight and still strives for further self-development. At present, Sooyeon now studies in Seoul Institute of Arts taking Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts.
