8 Fun Words We Should Be Using More Often_ Earthables on Facebook

I share this just for fun and hopefully it will be somehow educational and beneficial ^^, below is the original text.

There may not be a word for everything, but there are lots of words for things that you probably don’t use every day - and many you may not use at all. In fact, the English language is chock-full of fun words that can express specific or complicated situations or concepts, or words that express familiar things in new ways.So expand your horizons (and your vocabulary), and consider using these especially fun words!

#1 - Collywobbles

Collywobbles means "butterflies in your stomach," that feeling you get when you're nervous or anxious about something.

For example, "My daughter got the collywobbles when she saw Santa Claus for the first time at the mall and never did tell him what she wanted for Christmas."

#2 - Bumfuzzle

Bumfuzzle means to fluster. It initially began as "dumbfound," but was altered over the years. Back in 2002, a headline in the Chicago tribute read: "Irish can bumfuzzle any team" – headline about the Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" football team.

#3 - Hullabaloo

Hullabaloo means a fuss or commotion. For example, I never go shopping on Friday because I hate the hullabaloo.

#4 - Callipygian

Callipygian means of, or pertaining to, well-shaped buttocks. "When he turned around, I could see him in all his callipygian glory," one might say.

#5 - Gumption

Gumption is more common than the others, but you rarely hear people use it. It simply means to be especially spirited and resourceful. "She's got a lot of gumption!"

#6 - Taradiddle

Taradiddle means a fib, or pretentious nonsense. Cornelius Fudge, a character in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," used in the 2004 film: "We haven't got time to listen to more taradiddles, I'm afraid, Dumbledore."

Rumor had it that the word came about in the town of Taradiddle, Ireland, but that's actually a taradille - there is no such town in Ireland.

#7 - Jirble

Jirble means to spill when pouring out a liquid with a shaky hand. "I jirbled coffee on my shirt when I tried to drink it while driving."

#8 - Widdershins

Widdershins refers to something turning or moving in a counterclockwise direction. "And the waves beat upon the one hand, and upon the other the dead leaves ran; and the clouds raced in the sky, and the gulls flew widdershins." — Robert Louis Stevenson, The Song of the Morrow, 1896
