I don't know if I'm the only one who's ever wondered this, but does anybody else find it strange/surprising that a fic can get featured even though it hasn't been updated in years? Since the requirement of getting a fic featured is to have the most upvotes in a week, right? Do 100+ people read the same fic then even though it might've been buried under thousands of fics? xD

I'm just curious to what are people's thoughts on this? I always found it a bit surprising. Things have changed since one my fics got featured (and I took a long hiatus after that) so I'm a bit out of the loop.

I do know that it happens frequently enough so I'm not talking about a particular fic in general~ Of course, a lot of hard work went to each and every one of them so the authors deserve it. (Even if they're not active to see it.)

On another note, I just reached 100+ subscribers on One's Promised!

I know that that might seem like a lot to some of you but it's been a long time since I've written anything here on AFF. I was really hesitant about sharing my work on a platform outside of LJ after I took my hiatus here. Of course, it's not my biggest audience to date (I have a feature story with thousands of subscribers), but I can't help but feel a little proud for reaching 3 digits on a fanfic that is not centered around a popular pairing. Or at least a pairing that doesn't have that many "hardcore" fans.Thank you to everybody that made this possible!

I'm writing the first chapter of "Dance Your Way Home" at the moment, but "One's Promised" is definitely next of my to-do list.
