WTF, YG??

Just when you get everyone excited about BIGBANG's impending comeback next month...you give us these all in one day?? Seriously??

For this, really, I cannot help but blame YG...as I have already laid out the issues I have with YG stated a long time ago in an earlier blog about how YG largely utitlizes and relies on his own golden boy- G-Dragon as a rescue soldier, while not spending other time allowing his other artists to fulfil their true potential. Till this day, where are AKMU's comeback? Where's Lee Hi's comeback?

With 2NE1, after Bom's incident, yes, YG put the group on the backburner, but it didn't mean he had to leave the entire group out in the cold, while he mainly focused on CL and her supposed US debut, and where is the US debut that we have heard so much hype of? Dara was lucky to have some activities including a web drama. However, Minzy was virtually left in the cold, when she is also someone with a lot of potential to be a solo, so I don't blame her if she felt neglected and then decided to jump ship, in fact, she was smart to do so. The band officially disbanding only infuriated some fans to leave comments like, 'this had to happen for CL's US debut to happen...', if this is really truly why, then I am speechless...

But anyway, what's done is done, and I can only wish everyone of the former 2NE1 all the best of luck, and of course, also to WINNER and Nam Taehyun, and I hope Taehyun will rest well and recover.

Also, I wish YG luck, as everyone knows the BIGBANG members will be heading off into the army for their mandatory military service soon, who will keep YG afloat and prosperous for the time being is a question that will only be answered when the boys are in the army. WINNER? iKON? Or BLACKPINK? Because honestly YG shouldn't over-estimate or underestimate any of his artists. There are reasons why people say YG relies on BIGBANG, not the other way round.

1) Do not over-estimate and think that BLACKPINK can replace 2NE1,  I have nothing against BLACKPINK, but to be honest, they are nowhere near the level of 2NE1 yet, and in my brutal honesty, I actually think BLACKPINK is pretty mellow in comparison to the fiesty 2NE1.

2) Don't under-estimate the other artists that YG has under his roster, especially AKMU and Lee Hi. It's time YG should divide his attention time to fit them in as well, to allow them their chance to fulfil their full potential.

3) Do not let YG's own favouritism (I have no doubt that he has favouritism for some artists over others, but it's incredibly ugly when it's explicitly shown or implied) overrule a more sound and reasonable way when working with his artists. I have also previously stated before that in my talks with some fans from a Taiwanese YG Family fan forum, there was a common consensus is that YG seemed to display a favouritism for iKON over WINNER, and at the same time as YG was promoting iKON, he actually gave the impression that iKON actually rode on the backs of BIGBANG's fame rather than that iKON did it through hard work. The contrast in the impression of WINNER and iKON may be partly due to "WIN: Who is Next?", where we could actually see the sheer hard work and determination, so of course, when WINNER debuted, the impression was that WINNER debuted through both hard work and determination.

When it came to iKON, when they debuted with "WELCOME BACK", the track- "I Miss You So Bad" garnered a lot of attention, because it was written by G-Dragon (originally intended as a BIGBANG song, but he gave it away to iKON when he realized it suited iKON more), there were already a lot of press on the song, all saying how G-Dragon gifted iKON the song, and YG just made it all worse by adding his voice over it instead of hushing the press up. Because, very ironically, at the time, YG actually said he didn't want people to think that iKON are using G-Dragon or the BIGBANG boys in boosting their debut, but at the same time as emphasizing on the fact that G-Dragon did gift the song, and he even claimed that it was the first time G-Dragon composed a song for an artist outside of BIGBANG. I'm sorry, but that was incredibly stupid and idiotic of YG, because first of all, if you want people to stop thinking that way, you'd keep your mouth shut and instead hush up the press, and just leave G-Dragon's name in the song credits as it is, and secondly, "I Miss You So Bad" definitely was not the first song G-Dragon wrote for an artist outside of BIGBANG, before that, he also wrote "Good To You" along with Teddy for 2NE1 for their second formal studio album- "CRUSH". I'm sorry, YG, but if the fans can do fact-check, why can't you?

In the midst of it all was a pretty small-scale comeback from WINNER with "EXIT:E", and even though they did tour, they weren't given an extensive tour, unlike iKON...
