In Real Life

Language(s):
  • Korean // Fluent - Hanhae speaks it quite well, if a bit formally. This is due to the fact that Dahee has a Busan accent that she's worked hard to get rid of during their transformations.
  • English // Basic - She... tries. Not very successfully though. With no formal training in the language beyond watching American cartoons she really can't learn that much.

Appearance: Dahee is tiny. Though height-wise she's a perfectly average 165cm, the rest of her body is basically skin and bones. Thankfully her facial structure is rather androgynous, so with the right makeup she easily slips into her transformed 'other' self Hanhae. So long as she avoids any clothes that draw too much attention to her definitely-too-tiny-to-be-male body that is.

Likes:
  • Having Short Hair
  • Rock Music
  • Feeling tall
  • Flower Crowns
  • Anime (Especially Death Note)

Dislikes:
  • Raised voices
  • Anything that can be considered a "creepy-crawly"
  • Texting - what's wrong with emails?
  • Any sort of blood or gore in live action movies, she gets queasy
  • Being confused about anything

Hobbies:

  • Practicing writing lyrics. Anything that comes to mind she'll write down as soon as she can, and then anything she thinks is actually pretty good she'll show to Ahji.
  • People watching

Habits:

  • Especially during early promotional cycles, she touches her hair a lot. It was very long prior to the transformation, so she's still getting used to how light her head feels now.
  • Chewing on her lower lip when she's nervous. So basically always.
  • She's always fussing with her clothes to make sure they're covering everything the way they're supposed to be.

Trivia:

  • Her whole life, Dahee has always thought being male would've been much nicer. She wrote it off as wanting to get away from her parent's expectations, but as Hanhae she feels more herself than she ever does as Dahee, and she really isn't sure how to react to that.
  • She took about 6 years to come to terms with the fact she's in love with Ahji, and even now she would never do anything about it for fear of society.
  • She's the dorm bug-killer - her fear of them manifests into a "kill it with fire" attitude and as such she's more than happy to smash the freaky little things.
  • She adores cartoons and anime and will watch it if she has free time. And ask fans to send her stuff themed on whatever anime she' currently crying over
  • She's a nightmare with technology. She's like a grandma, constantly asking the most basic questions with genuine confusion: "How do you get the smiley face?" "What's a lol?" "How do you get the camera to work?"
  • As such it can take days for her to reply to texts, but mere hours to respond to emails, something she's much more proficient with.
  • Her favorite part of the transformation, aside from being male, is wearing shoelifts high enough to add 10cm to her height. She loves feeling tall.
  • She never talks about having been a YG trainee - she doesn't want to get involved in the politics surrounding it.
In Depth

Traits: Observant, Tough, Caring, Anxious, Determined, Externally Aware, Fussy, Awkward

Personality Expanded:
As someone who was raised to be extremely self-concious and insecure, Dahee is naturally a much quieter force than others. She's always highly aware of her surroundings and makes it her business to notice as much as she possibly can about everything going on around her. She hates to feel out of control, still feeling a strong drive to appeal to and appease everyone around her despite the past eight years trying to erase those instincts. And her anxieties have only heightened with the tranformation. She worries even more about being a dissapointment, and it can be overwhelming at times. It often gets to a point where she needs to take time to herself to calm down and remind herself that she shouldn't care what people think, and that her true friends will stand with her even when she messes up. It's hard to remember though.

However, although she doesn't always realize it, her internal work to improve her own confidence has helped her a lot. Dahee used to crumble under the smallest of critiques, but now she's learned to take them in stride and apply them to the future. She's much tougher than she once was, able to withstand far more external pressure than she once was. She's also developed more of a backbone, and is far more willing to work towards her goals, despite opposition, than she ever was growing up. Of course her determination to succeed does cause her to become rather fussy when she thinks others aren't living up to their potential. She's just trying to be supportive, like Ahji was for her, but she tends to fail miserably despite her good intentions. This is rather common for Dahee - she cares deeply for people but tends to be pretty incompetent when it comes to actually dealing with them.

Background:
Born to a highly conservative Methodist family, Dahee had strict expectations growing up: be quiet, be pretty, and be polite. Simply rules that she always seemed to struggle with following. Though she was never bad looking Dahee didn't really ever grow into her looks, much to her mother's dissapointment. Being quiet was doable, but she was so quiet you'd forget she was there at all, and then it became a problem that no guys were noticing her. But although she was told to be more appealing, she had become so terrified of messing up that she was physically unable to speak up more. She developed crippling insecurities that only grew worse as she aged, to the point where people thought she was mute sometimes. Hoping to fix her before university, her mother brought her into the city when she was 17 years old to see a therapist.

While in Seoul, Dahee's mother decided to show her daughter around the city and hopefully encourage her to talk to more young boys from "nice" families. The two women ended up in Gangnam district, where a scout from YG spotted the shy young girl and proposed she audition. Her mother immediately said no, but after some flattery from the scout she relented, figuring there was no way Dahee could actually pass. But to her mother's shock Dahee did pass the auditions - and even more surprisingly she told her mother she was going to stay and train. No asking if she could, just a simple statement "I'm not leaving with you tomorrow." Her relationship with her parents had never been very good, but her mother did relent and Dahee moved into the YG trainee dorms the next day.

Training at YG was not a picnic, and there were more times than she can count that Dahee felt like quitting. She spent every night crying in her bed and everyday training until she couldn't stand, singing until hurt. And then Ahji appeared. The two girls were in the same vocal class, and Ahji noticed Dahee's terrible technique and gave her a few pointers. Dahee, always polite, immediately thanked her profusely but Ahji just smiled and said it was nothing. After that Dahee found herself acutely aware of Ahji's presence in her vocal classes, and began placing herself as close to the kind girl as she could, feeling safer knowing a friendly presence was nearby. Ahji naturally was the one to start their next conversation, noticing Dahee's lingering. The two developed a strong friendship, and watching Ahji standing up against the CEO when she didn't want to debut inspired Dahee quite a bit. And when Ahji told her four years after they met that she was going to be a vocal coach at the new LOEN sub-label Label V Dahee immediately asked if they were looking for trainees, not wanting to be separated from her best friend. And it wasn't like YG was planning to debut her anytime soon.

Who did you leave behind?: Um, no one really I guess. I've been training for so long that you guys are really the only people I see most days.

Which staff are you most comfortable with?: Ahji, naturally. I mean, we've been friends for a while now so it makes sense that I feel most comfortable around her, right?

Which member are you most comfortable with?: That's... a good question. I guess I'd say The Leader? It used to be The Resistant but we disagree too often about the... the tranformation, if you would, so it's hard to talk to her now.
In Love

Name: Park Ahji
Age: 25
Occupation: Co-CEO, Vocal Coach, Lyricist

Personality: Ahji is someone who knows what she loves and sticks with it. Her passion for singing has led her through life up to this point and she won't let anyone take it away. But she also isn't exactly the sort to make up her own mind, or step outside her comfort zone without some encouragment. She likes having someone other than herself to tell her that she's doing the right thing. (Short since she's your character and i can't really know exactly what she's like. I got this from her paragraph on the Label V page)

Interaction: Dahee and Ahji have been friends for nearly eight years and Dahee's been in love with the other for a little over two (that she's admitted to herself anyway). Dahee is almost dependent on Ahji, always seeking the other out in uncomfortable situations and relying on her heavily as a reminder of her own self-worth. While she knows Ahji has her flaws, the other has been elevated to paragon status in Dahee's mind and Ahji is incapable of doing wrong as far as Dahee is concerned. It's a little unhealthy honestly, but they are friends and their friendship has, to this point, done more good than harm for Dahee's self-worth and motivation.
In The End

Comments/Suggestions: Maybe for future releases you could use 'Male Versions" of female songs? Given they're gender neutral of course. (Stuff like A.De's Good Time or Rainbow's Mach) Plus then there's an easy female version for after the big reveal ^^
Also I made a "gallery" with Narsha looking male, if you need it!

Scene Suggestions:
  • I trust you ^^

Password: SO MANY IDEAS. There's DIA's On The Road for something cuter, CLC's No Oh Oh for something a little funkier but still pretty sweet, Brave Girls have High Heels and Deepened which are both awesome, Rainbow's Black Swan is a bit darker and more mature sounding. Anything Rainbow could work though <3
