who am i ?

name » Kwon JiYeon

nickname(s) » Ji Ji || It's an endearing term that the Prince gave her. It's not her favorite nickname and she wishes he'd stop calling her that.

Tsaheylu || It's a title that JiYeon's received and people call her this out of respect.

birthday » 11/07
AGE » 24

BIRTHTOWN » Aren, Aques

face claim » Park SiYeon

backup face claim » Park JiYeon

appearance » JiYeon stands at an impressive height for a woman at 170 cm. Every part of her body is toned and well-defined. Having worked out and practice some form of fighting since she was ten would be to blame for this. Though, she's not ashamed by that. Even with the slight and lean muscles, she still has curves in the right places. JiYeon has a small birthmark on the bottom left corner of her lips. She has has a number of small, light scars covering her body. This too is due to her practicing and fighting from a young age. She has long brown hair that reaches the middle of her back and typically she puts her hair either in a ponytail or a braid. JiYeon also has brown eyes. But, one can swear that there's specks of gold in them and when she stands with Zahra her eyes practically glow. But, who's to say? JiYeon also has a rather large tattoo on her right shoulder and arm.

style » Most of the time, JiYeon wears something that both protects her but is easy to move in. Since she is the Prince's personal bodyguard, she is almost always in her armor. JiYeon's outfit consists of cloth and leather for the most part. She has some plate armor but not much because it would hinder her and weigh her down. Now, JiYeon can wear dresses, and sometimes she does. But she always has some light leather armor.

PERSONALITY TRAITS »

( + ) Loyal/Protective, Instinctual, Wise, Passionate,

( - ) Cautious, Fiery/Temper, Strong-willed, Crafty/Cunning

( Neutral ) Observant, Untameble

personality »

One of JiYeon's most notible traits is her loyalty to those who have earned her trust. Almost loyal to a fault. To her friends and people she deems as "family" she will stand by their side through hell or high water. When everyone else is against them, even if she knows her friends or family are wrong, she'll have their back and protect them. JiYeon would risk her life for those she is loyal to. She doesn't trust people easily, mind you. But, when she trusts someone, she trusts them completely. But, her loyality isn't blind. If someone does something to lose her trust, it's probably the worst thing that could happen to the other person. JiYeon believes there might be a reason for such a quick turn around in her loyalties - if someone does something to cause her to distrust them. Though JiYeon is smart, she tends to trust her gut. Her instincts have never led her astray. Sometimes, JiYeon questions why she fears someone who looks so innocent, but she trusts herself and there's always a reason.

Later on, JiYeon is able to rationalize her thoughts. She's experienced a lot in her short life and all those experiences have made her wiser. Now, JiYeon is both smart and wise. Being smart is knowing a tomato is a fruit, but being wise is knowing not to put tomatos in a fruit salad. People have been known to seek JiYeon's counsel becasue she's wiser than her years suggest. When JiYeon makes a mistake, she has no problem admitting to it and learning from it. JiYeon, though quick to act, never acts without calculating the risks. She knows that sometimes she must act for the greater good and not for selfish reasons. But, another thing people notice about JiYeon is how she's so passionate about anything she does. She puts her entire soul into what she believes. Sometimes, she cares too much; sometimes she's too emotional. JiYeon can come off as intense, because people don't understand how she can always put her heart and soul into everything and anything. But there's not just a passion in what she does, but who she is. She embraces her uality and isn't ashamed when she's attracted to someone. JiYeon doesn't apologize for her nature, she takes it in stride. She isn't afraid to flirt with the devil himself. There's a fire in her soul that can't be extinguished.

There's not only a fire in her soul but a fire in her eyes. This fire can burn JiYeon, she can run hot. JiYeon has a bit of a temper that she typically tries to keep under wraps. When her temper is released, JiYeon has a nasty bite. She's strong-willed. She stands by her beliefs and isn't afraid to go head to head with someone to defend those beliefs. This stubborness and her temper aren't the best of mixes. But JiYeon is crafty and cunning. It's useful for JiYeon, but it's never seen in a good light. JiYeon's good at getting what she wants, but she's not inherently direct about it. She can decieve people in order to reach her goals and she doesn't mind. JiYeon rarely ever tells an outright lie, but she does tend to give half-truths. That's how she's so believeble. Combining lies and the truth, JiYeon is able to seel you nearly any story she wants. Due to this decietful nature and her occupation, JiYeon has to be overly cautious. Though this is, again, good for her, she's always questionings people's intentions. As mentioned before, JiYeon is very loyal to those who have earned her trust; however, earning that trust can be harder than it seems. Sometimes, people think they have her trust, but they are mistakened. JiYeon doesn't initially think that everyone is out to get her, but she has to be prepared for the worst. She keeps a watchful eye on her situation at near all times. Because she is cautious of people and her surroundings, JiYeon is very observant. It may not seem like it, but she keeps track of everyone and everything. JiYeon can pick up on small gestures or microexpressions and she's quick to recognize these gestures.

There is a reason JiYeon is a bodyguard and not a soldier. She doesn't follow her government blindly and she's not afraid to speak about her distaste of what's happening. Don't mistake her loyality for being a sheep. JiYeon can follow orders but she's not one for letting her government - or anyone else - control her. She's not tameble. JiYeon isn't a helpless little girl who must rely on someone else. There is a difference, in her mind, from relying on someone and needing to rely on someone. The first is a choice, the second is a need. JiYeon doesn't need anyone else, but she wants others in her life. She's not looking, though, for someone who wants to "be the one to tame her" or change her. JiYeon wants someone who can accept that she's a bit wild and that she's a free spirit. When she decides to do something, she will, and there's not much anyone can say to change her mind. Just because JiYeon has spent years of her life defending and protecting the Prince of Aques, it doesn't mean she's not free. She doesn't feel that she is bound by duty - which many think is the reason she stays. JiYeon stays because she's loyal to the Prince. He's a friend and she doesn't want to abandon him.

Trivia:

- JiYeon can ride Zahra, but Zahra is not a fan of it. It's not a common site. Typically, JiYeon rides a horse like a normal person.

- Her primary weapon is a pair of swords that are holstered on her back. She also has a set of hidden daggers.

- JiYeon is a close-ranged fighter - which is why her weapons are swords and daggers. But, she can use her fist and is skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

- Though JiYeon wanted to use a bow, she knows that as a bodyguard she's going to typically be on the defensive. There's no need to be shooting people down yards away.

- JiYeon has thwarted two attempts at the Prince of Aques' life already. One was in the streets of their kingdom and the other in their throne room. In the throne room, the Prince, the King, JiYeon, Zahra, her father, and Horus were present. The people were paying respects to the royal family as well as bringing up issues they are dealing with. JiYeon was off to one side with Zahra as another civilian approached the Prince and King. He knelt down before them. JiYeon could smell the fear and the sweat. She could also hear the man's heart racing. Something was wrong. As he glanced up to the royal family, JiYeon was on the move. The man began to stand, producing a sword from his side. JiYeon was already in front of him, her own sword drawn. Deflecting the attack, she elbowed the man in the face causing him to fall over. Zahra was postioned over him before he realized what had happened.

- Tsaheylu is both a title and a word. It comes from a very old language and it translates to "the bond" or "bonding". It has become synonymous with tamer though.

- Being a Tsaheylu is very rare and valued. People have been known to try and kidnap Tsaheylus and use them for their own gains.
- Tsaheylus and their companions can use one another senses. They don't speak to one another, or read each other's minds. Anything Zahra can hear, see, smell, or feel, so can JiYeon and vice versa. Their senses and minds are linked. They're linked to the point where if Zahra suffers an injury, JiYeon will feel the pain. However, even though JiYeon feels the pain, she doesn't suffer any injury. The same goes for Zahra. If JiYeon suffers an injury, the direwolf will feel it.
- Sometimes as a training method - or as a party trick - JiYeon and Zahra will be in two different locations and JiYeon will describe, acuretly, the location where Zahra is.

- JiYeon is very fit. She can run for long periods of time and she can take quite the physical beating. It takes a lot to keep her down.

- She has been known to growl, low in or bare her teeth in a fight or when she preceives a threat.

- She has no allergies.

- When JiYeon is concentrating on something, she tends to bite her bottom lip slightly.

- If she's frustrated, she'll either go and work out or go for a walk.

- If she's not at the Prince's side, typcially one can find JiYeon either talking a walk through some form of nature or practicing with her swords and Zahra.

- JiYeon has a high alcohol tolerance and can drink guys under the table.

- JiYeon isn't naive to intimate relations. She's had brief relationships with other members of the King of Aques' court. Nothing could last long because she had always chose protecting her prince over a relationship.
- JiYeon isn't afraid to perform skinship with others.

- She has an eloquent and elegant manner of speaking.

is this my home ?

BACKGROUND »
JiYeon was born to a loving and well-off family in Aren. Her father was the personal bodyguard of the King and had been at his side for decades. What made him, in part, such a good bodyguard was the fact that he was known as a Tsaheylu or commonly known as a "tamer". His entire family - going back countless generations - were Tsaheylus. Of both the ordinary and the extraordinary. Everyone, once they reached the age of eighteen had a companion in his family. Most found their companion before then, but none found them afterwards. If someone had yet to discover their companion, they were ostracized from the family. The family believed that there must be something wrong with the individual if they weren't able to locate and "tame" their companion. Seungho, JiYeon's father, had acquired a Peregrine Falcon, whom he named Horus, as his companion. It is said that the companion is a representation of the human and they are bonded in a way that can't be explained to outsiders. The beast and the human aren't necessarily with one another 24/7, but they can feel each other. They are one, in a way. But, even though each member of the family has a companion, they still go out and "tame" other creatures.

JiYeon's mother, ShinHye, was a well-respected Lady. She too came from a well-off family and it only made sense for her and Seungho to wed. However, she does not possess the ability to bond with beasts like Seungho and his family. There are very few familes who, 1) can bond with an animal. It's something that was, supposedly, gifted upon an individual from the Gods and Goddesses themselves. It has then since been passed down from generation to generation. And 2) there are even fewer families who still practice and/or believe in this ability to bond with beasts. Seungho's family is one of the last ones. So, ShinHye does not bond with the animals, but she still has a deep love and respect for them and beasts can sense this.

When JiYeon was only eight years old, her father began taking her into the forest that was far from their home. He began to teach her what it meant to be a Tsaheylu. He had explained that even though they are called "tamers" they don't actually tame any animals. They earn their trust and respect. The beasts would work in tandem with the humans because of this respect. Seungho began teaching her, using Horus as an example. The falcon had quickly warmed up to the young girl and was soon working with her as well as he had worked for her father. From there, she began to try and "capture" her own beasts. They didn't capture so much as draw out. Even though they only make a lasting bond with a single animal, all beasts feel this connection to the "tamers". Seungho had begun to teach JiYeon how to fight as well when she reached ten years old. He told her once she found her companion they would have to learn how to fight together, on their own. He couldn't assist with that. But, until that day came, he worked with JiYeon in strengthening every muscle in her body. He trained her in using all manner of weapons as well. He was raising her to be a bodyguard just like himself, and his father, and so on.

Even though she spent most of her time becoming a Tsaheylu and working with a variety of animals, JiYeon was still expected to be a Lady at Court. Due to her father being glued at the King's side more often than not, JiYeon spent the other part of her time at the castle and spending time with the young Prince. The two were close in age and it allowed them to play and enjoy one another's company. It was expected of JiYeon to protect the Prince, even at a young age. She knew, once she had her companion she would be glued to the Prince's side and protect him just has her father did for his.

JiYeon was seventeen when she finally encountered her companion. It was late one night and she was out practicing in the forest. She heard a light growl. It wasn't threatening, but instead simply announced the beast's presence. JiYeon turned to face the creature. It was a beautiful direwolf with white, grey, and black fur. It's eyes were a piercing yellow. She. JiYeon didn't hear the word, but she know it didn't come from her own thoughts. She simply knew that the direwolf wanted to clarify it wasn't an it, but a she. Her father had explained that companions are able to communicate, in a way. They don't have a voice, they don't speak within your mind. But, the human simply knows. The direwolf came to stand before JiYeon. She realized the direwolf easily reached her chest. The direwolf circled her a few times, assessing her. It was not the "tamer" who chose the beast, but the beast who chose the "tamer". This continued on for a few minutes as JiYeon simply watched the creature. After some time, she came before JiYeon and sat down in front of her. She nuzzled JiYeon's hand with her muzzle and the thought of giving the beast a name came to JiYeon. "Zahra," she called her. The direwolf her hand, seemingly approving of the name. JiYeon had found her companion.

When JiYeon returned to her father that night, with Zahra in tow, unbridled joy swept across his face. A ceremony was held for the two in order to regonize the bonding of Zahra and JiYeon. It was a small thing and only consisted of family and very close friends. During this time, she received the tattoo that is on her shoulder and arm. It symbolizes being a part of the family. Becoming a fully realized Tsaheylu. The King was in attendance and he spoke with Seungho afterwards. "Is she ready to take up her post?" he had asked, referring to JiYeon protecting his son. Her father said of course. From then, JiYeon was quickly sworn in as the personal bodyguard of the Prince.

Ever since she was sworn in, JiYeon and Zahra were a regular sight around the castle. As the Prince's personal bodyguard, JiYeon was regarded highly amongst the other guards and staff. Though Zahra is often seen at JiYeon's side, the direwolf comes and goes as she pleases, but she always knows when JiYeon needs her. When the announcement came that her Prince was to be married to the Prince of Luce, he instantly told JiYeon. He then, personally asked JiYeon to not only him to the wedding in Lucia, but to stay on as his personal bodyguard in his new home. JiYeon felt strange leaving Aques; it's been her home her entire life. But, she knew her duty. JiYeon spoke with her family and told them of her decision to leave with the Prince and they supported her choice, but Seungho made sure that JiYeon would promise to never forget who she was or where she came from.

FAMILY »

Father ;; Park Seungho, 54, Tsaheylu/Personal Bodyguard of the King | hardworking, passionate, protective, stern | JiYeon and Seungho have always been close. Whether it was out training or in the castle, Seungho was a constant presence in JiYeon's life. Unlike many men of the court, he didn't believe that women were somehow inferior to men. So, when JiYeon was born he raised her to be herself and unafraid, to not have to answer to anyone. He trained her to be both physically and emotionally strong. JiYeon doesn't think there's anyway for her to repay her father for what he has given her. Anytime there is a problem, Seungho knows but doesn't press his daughter for information. He believes she'll open up to him when she's ready. Though he pushed her physically, he doesn't push her emotionally or mentally. Unlike other men, Seungho doesn't want JiYeon to marry out of need. He wants her to be happy. Also, part of him wants to keep JiYeon as his little girl.

Mother ;; Park ShinHye, 51, Lady of the Court | respectful, passionate, calm, resourceful | Looking back on her childhood, JiYeon regrets not being able to spend enough time with her mother. ShinHye had always been JiYeon's cheerleader, even if it was from afar. Since she held a high position at court, she would argue and defend her daughter when others would speak of finding her a suitor. They even suggested the Prince. ShinHye wouldn't allow it. She always worried for JiYeon, especially since she knew what her training and duties involved. But, she knew what she agreed to when she married Seungho. ShinHye doesn't try to change her daughter and simply supports her in anyway she can.

FRIENDS/RIVALS »

Friend ;; Prince of Aques | ------------ | JiYeon has known the Prince since she was just a little girl. Since they were roughly the same age, and her father always being with the King, she spent much of her childhood with the Prince. The two are fairly good friends and they have each other's back. JiYeon takes that a bit more literal though. They have gone through a lot together and the Prince doesn't know where he'd be without JiYeon. He doesn't take their friendship for granted. The two have confided with one another and told the other things no one else knows. To the Prince, JiYeon is more than just a bodyguard, she's a friend and his counsel. JiYeon is extremely loyal to the Prince and will protect him at all costs.

what should i do ?

what were your first thoughts when you heard of the wedding ? were you happy ? sad ? excited ? angry ? » JiYeon rolled her eyes and released a heavy sigh. "I don't understand it. Why would the Prince be engaged or promised to, or whatever to the Prince of Luce? Luce has nothing to offer us, at least not that I can see. And, this came out of nowhere! There was no warning, no planning, they just kind of sprung it on us. I'm a bit frustrated with this, in all honesty."

how did you end up in lucia for the wedding ? » For a moment, JiYeon simply gave the person a look that screamed he was an idiot. "Well, considering I'm the personal bodyguard for the Prince of Aques, I ended up in Lucia with him. On that note, no one gave me any time to plan for this. I don't know Lucia that well, and it's going to be hard to keep my Prince safe in a foreign land."

why do you think there are so many secrets surrounding the prince of luce ? are you part of the little circle of people who knows why he hides ? » "I don't know," JiYeon began before she thought on the question. "I mean, a part of me has always thought that maybe who we see, or who they tell us is on the throne, Suwoong, isn't who he says he is. Maybe that's why he covers his body. Or, maybe, he's been in some type of freak accident. It's not my place to know. He is not my concern. My concern is for my own Prince."

why do you think the kings decided to link their kingdoms so suddenly ? » JiYeon slightly threw her hands up, "I don't know. I wish I had some sort of semblance of an idea, but I don't. Which, I'm kind of upset by. I mean, I've known the King of Aques my entire life. I've dedicated my life to protecting his son... And no one wants to tell me ."

YOU ARE THE TRAITOR. ARE YOU MANIPULATED OR IS IT YOUR OWN INTENTION ? WHO OR WHAT ARE YOU TARGETING ? WOULD YOU USE ANYONE TO HELP YOU AND HOW  ? » JiYeon scoffed slightly, "If I was the traitor, it would be by my own intentions. I'm not one to be played or used. I would target anyone who came across as a threat, in my mind, to my Prince. If I don't think the Prince of Luce is who he says he is, I will take him down. I wouldn't rely on anyone's assistance, not even Zahra. If Zahra helped me, it would be easy for other's to know. I mean, who else has a direwolf with them? No, I wouldn't let her help me, nor anyone else unless I know for a fact they won't rat me out."

YOU ARE NOT THE TRAITOR. DO YOU HELP HIM OR DO YOU TRY TO SAVE THE WEDDING AND THE PRINCE ? » JiYeon sat in silence for a moment, before crossing both her arms and her legs, "My sole purpose is to protect my Prince. Whatever guarantees his safety, I'll do. I'll stand behind my actions to protect him, even if it means taking the life of another Prince."

PERSONALITY TRAITS » ( + ) passionate, hard-working, funny, eloquent ( - ) Intimidating, possessive, cocky, careless

personality »

JiYong works hard to get what he wants. He's ambitious and will stop at nothing. He doesn't believe that there's anything that he can't do. JiYong believes if he works long enough he can do anything. People can see that in his passions. He'll put his heart and soul into what he's doing and his people admire that. Though he is a Prince, he likes to have good time and joke around with others. He's witty and has a great sense of humor. Sometimes his jokes are a bit dark or erted, but they're all good-natured. But, he's not all smiles and sunshine. JiYong has no problem cutting people down, but he does it in such a way, people can hardly tell. Since he's a Prince, he's developed a very eloquent manner of speaking. For example, a man at his court sent him a dossier that wasn't horribly important and JiYong responded, "Thank you for the dossier. I'll waste no time reading it." Though it sounds kind of nice, he's really saying he won't waste his time reading it. Now, it might be because of this ability to cut people down so effectively or the fact that he's a Prince, but many people find JiYong intimidating. He seems to be in a league of his own and no one likes to approach him. Also, since he's a Prince, he never really learned or appreciated the phrase, "No, it's not yours." JiYong is very possessive of what he considers his - whether that's an object or a person. If you're declared his, just give in to it. JiYong won't rest until he has what he thinks is his. He's also a very cocky individual. He thinks the world of himself and thinks he can do anything. This can make him careless. Sometimes, he doesn't realize the danger he's putting himself him. JiYong will say that he's "carefree" not "careless", but they kind of go hand-in-hand.

FIRST MEETING »

The official first meeting between JiYong, the Prince of Marchai, and JiYeon was when he with his father, the King of Marchai, visited Aques for some political matter that she cared not for. As usual, JiYeon was by the Prince's side as the Kings conversed. After some time, the Princes were dismissed and allowed to converse on their own. JiYeon stayed by her Prince's side and JiYong questioned this. He intially asked if she was brethrothed to the man and she couldn't help but laugh. Playfully, the Prince yelled "Hey!" at her, pretending to be offended. The Prince of Aques then explains to JiYong that she is his personal bodyguard. JiYong is surprised by this, but when Zahra makes an appearance, he understands. "So, you're a Tsaheylu, that's why you're his bodyguard." "That's one of the reasons," JiYeon mentioned off-handely. The three began to converse as regular young adults and before they knew it, it was time for the Marchai royal family to return home.

interactions »

There wasn't much of an interaction between the two during their first meeting. They simply talked along with the Prince of Aques about random things. However, JiYong and JiYeon meet again a number of times during the past six years. His father would have to make trips often to Aques so they would catch up again. Rarely was the Prince of Aques not with JiYeon, but there were a few occasions. During this time, JiYong would joke around with JiYeon and she'd simply smile and roll her eyes at his antics. Because she was constantly around royals, JiYeon could see them as normal people and because of this JiYong got to finally be himself. He didn't hold anything back. If they could, they would stay up the whole night and simply talk. Well, talk and laugh. JiYong loved to make JiYeon laugh because he saw it as a challenge for some reason. Over the years, the two grew very close and confided in one another about everything.

It's different for JiYeon when she's with JiYong. She's never had a problem with being herself around those she's come to trust, and JiYong is no different. But, she knows it's more than just friendship she feels for the Prince of Marchai. As much as she loves spending time with her Prince, JiYong is a breath of fresh air. He's something different and purely unique. Having grown up very differently than most girls at court and being so uninhibited by customs and norms, JiYeon never really cared about the, in her opinion imaginary, boundaries between guys and girls. Most girls only gently lay a hand upon a man's arm or shoulder if he is not her husband. This was lost on JiYeon. She had no problems patting JiYong on the back, grabbing his arm to steady her as she laughed, or simply teasing him. She had grown up treating her own Prince this way. Skinship is common between the two. For awhile, rumors flew that they might be involved because they hung out whenever he comes to Aques. And neither JiYong nor JiYeon do anything to silence those rumors. Instead, they fan the fire. During his last visit to Aques, the two spent as much time as they could together. There was no denying at this point that there were feelings present. Maybe it was in the looks or touches they exchanged, or the carefully choosen, playful words they used. But, whatever it was, it finally reached a tipping point. A not-so-innocent touch on JiYeon's part and lucious whispers on JiYong's part lead to much more. JiYeon brought the man to her room in the castle. And they shared a wonderful night together. Neither worried about what anyone else thought and they let all decorum slip. They were wild, they were set free. JiYong had no intention of trying to tame or calm JiYeon, he liked her the way she was and decided to run free with her. JiYong knew she was different and wasn't bound by any social constraints and he loved that about her.

The two end up meeting again in Lucia for the Princes' wedding.

ending » Totally up to you. I will let you know, that I have no qualms with it getting steamy between the two *wink wink* lol

last words.

comments/suggestions »

Alright, so I want to clarify something about Tsaheylu, or the bond that is shared between beast and man. So, JiYeon doesn't read Zahra's mind or vice versa. They are sort of linked in a way. JiYeon can see with Zahra's eyes and smell with her nose. She can pick up on things that humans can't, but direwolves can. This is also how they know when the other is in trouble. They can feel one another. The use the other's senses to figure out what needs to be done. When they move and fight, they have one mind. They don't need to try and coordinate anything, because they already know what to do. They are a deadly team.

Also, I tried to get across how JiYeon has almost a "wolf-ish" personality. As I mentioned, she's wild and does as she pleases, but the reason she's stayed at the Prince's side isn't out of a sense of duty but out of loyalty.

So, I kind of used two quotes to help design JiYeon. You can find them here and here. I really suggest reading them.

scene requests »

- JiYong determining that JiYeon is his and becomes possessive.

- JiYeon having to decide between her Prince or JiYong.

- Someone trying to use her abilities as Tsaheylu, or threatening to hurt Zahra.
