Family Background: Kyoul was born in Busan,Korea. Her family was actually originated in Brooklyn, New York already. Kyoul's mother was born in South Orange, New Jersey than met Sung Hoon who was on a business trip. Soon they decided to get married and have children in Brooklyn. Thats where Kyoul's two older brother's were born. On the year Kyouls was born they decided to have a family vacation, Julia(the mother) was already 34 weeks when they arrived to South Korea. There she gave birth to baby Kyoul, of course they when to the American Embassy on Southern Korea to tell them they're american residents. Since the baby was born in Korea, Sunghoon(the father) wanted the baby to have his mother's name which was winter in korean. Trainee Story:
Kyoul went completely broke one day in South Korea . All she had was her High school diploma and guitar, named Mr.Cloudy . She thought to herself, "Get a nice job, and get paid in two week? Or Sing and play Mr. Cloudy(guitar) and get at least ten bucks?" and of course her choice was Mr. Cloudy. Kyoul walked all the way to Hongdae, and hoped her musical skills were good enough. After 10 minutes of singing she accumulated about $50. Kyoul thought to herself "This isn't so bad. This could be your new way, of showing your musical talent!". Then a S.M scouter came in front of Kyoul and asked is she wanted to be famous. Of course Kyoul was skeptical and said no, then when she saw posters for S.M entertainment, she called him and said yes, correction. Cried yes.
