A very little fanfic about Baekhyun and his wife; ep16 of Moon Lovers

Please if you haven't watched the series yet or you haven't reached the ep16 do not read cause it will spoil everything (If what I've written actually makes any sense).

The scene in ep 16 just ruined me and I have no idea why but I had to write it down 'cause it was bothering me too much. The song playing during the scene was too perfect and I was inspired to write it out so I can actually calm down a little. I did listen to it while writing. Please don't expect anything perfect. This is written in just minutes and only to clear up my mind. This can't even be considered as a fanfic since it's too short XD

Here is the link to that song if you want to listen while reading: Will Be Back

The cold wind, the traumatizing stress eating him inside out, the panic crawling over his body like thousands and thousands of spiders and the sight of blood gashing out of her chest numbed him completely. The gash left by the sword stung on his chest as though he was the one who took it as he crawled on the ground with his royal dress towards the girl he had been wed to. Nothing could ever hurt someone as much as that and Baekhyun felt like he was dead as he cradled his wife’s head in his arms and cried out her name in disbelief. There was no hope left for any of them but he called her over and over again like it would miraculously cure her.

His body shook terribly as he touched the skin of her face and reminded her about their future. He reminded her of the trip they were supposed to take together. Just the two of them and no one else. She would teach material arts and he would open novelty goods shop. “Let’s go together. Just the two of us.” He said. His voice shaky and trembling awfully. However no matter how much he promised and called her name, her eyes closed and the body went cold into his arms.

Promises and shouts of her name turned into begs of her to return until a heart wrenching pain took the whole of his right arm and he knew it was his turn to go. He glanced at his traitor brother as anger bubbled inside him but there was nothing left to do but to leave as well and meet his wife again. He should not leave her alone like that. Hot tears rolled down his face as he stared at the girl and wished he had been so much better to her. He wished that he had kissed her back better the night before. He wished so badly that he had spent all of his time with her all those years instead of leaving her be or nagging like a child. He wished he had been a great husband to her. One that would make her smile every second of the day and show her love every time their eyes connected.

He wasn’t quite aware of his surrounding or how the 4th prince had started defending him but one was not enough and the second arrow was shot right into his stomach. Not enough to kill him right away but enough to cause such a pain that he wished it would happen sooner than later. He looked up at his brother with the bow, preparing another arrow but his attention was stolen by the 4th prince and another voice yelling his name that his hazy mind couldn’t figure out who it belonged to.

“I can’t…leave her alone.” He choked out the words as he felt everything slowing down. Suddenly he could appreciate the nice breeze, the greenery of the trees, the beautiful blue sky above and the beauty lying cold on the ground right beside him. Memories after memories flash behind his eyelids and he was reminded of his birthday and the way he was manipulated. How he regretted his choice. The words slipping out of his mouth didn’t make much sense to him but it apparently they did to the 4th prince since it seemed like he was moved by them and his eyes were already bloodshot from numerous tears he had shed. He must look hideous with the arrows inside him and choking out words with a face scrunched up in pain.

“As...my birthday…gift…You have to.” He said his final words as his eyes locked with the man with the bow and arrow. He didn’t want to stay any longer. He didn’t want to stand another hit of arrow and stay alive to endure the pain. He had to leave….He couldn’t leave her alone.

The pain of the sword leaving a gash on his chest like the one his wife had was unbearable but sweet since he knew he would be gone soon and that it wasn’t the traitor who took his life but one of his beloved brothers. He would see her again. Having no more energy or control over his body, Baekhyun fell on the ground and a smile formed on his lips before his hand extended towards the girl already deep into his never ending sleep as his eyelids felt heavier and heavier. He thought of the night before and how much he had already missed her foolish words regarding her being pregnant by just a mere kiss. He thought of how cute she was when she looked at his face and how much he had already fallen as he was taken into the never ending sleep, ready to be met by his love. Ready to be with her forever and ever.
