Hae soo will act coldly in first encounters, but might warm up to them if she likes who they truely are. so even though she may be distant, she's acting a very caring person for those who give her hope for a better world. at school, hae soo gives off a confident and bored vibe. she goes throughout classes without talking to people, and always seems to be thinking about something other than the teacher's topic. But in reality, she's actually sorting out what she has left to do today, and whether she has done enough. usually talking to mrs. oh helps her mind relax a bit from overthinking situations. Mrs. oh is probably the only person who worries about hae soo's bruises and cuts from fights. she scolds hae soo for her reckless lifestyle, but in a caring way.

Hae soo was born during a rough time for her family. her mother didn't work and was always drunk while her father struggled for money by begging on the streets. shortly after she was born, her mother grew pregnent again, but had a miscarriage due to over drinking. her mother finally quit drinking when they were too broke to buy liquir, and hae soo had to collect cans off the streets to sell to recylcing companies. Hae soo's father got a loan from an old high school friend, and started up a handyman shop. now with a steady income, hae soo's mother started to act more like a mom. she had another child, je ha, and treated him with all the love she was never able to give to hae soo. Je ha became someone hae soo wanted to protect in fear that her mother would start drinking again. so she works a lot, and tries to earn money any way she can so that her brother might have a better life than hers. she bottles up her emotions so that she can protect her brother. the only time she ever cries is when she's in a fight with someone, and that's because it's the only time she can show emotion.
Hae soo was once almost kidnapped by a ert at her childhood neighborhood playground, and even though her mother was laying on a bench a few yards away, her mother couldn't hear her screaming because she was too drunk. hae soo luckily struggled enough to get away from the ert by scratching his right eye badly. but instead of running for help, Hae soo started to beat up the injured man so much that it got to the point where a few adults finally noticed and had to pull her off of him because the man was beaten to a pulp.
Hae soo met mrs. oh outside her father's shop one morning, and helped the old lady when a few drunk guys started to knock over mrs. Oh's merchandise. hae soo then saw the old lady regularly around town, and Mrs. oh always scolded hae soo for coming to the shop late at night, and wondering why she looked so beaten up. Mrs. Oh convinced hae soo to take breaks and eat some of her homemade cooked sweet potatoes while attending to hae soo's injuries. Overtime Mrs. oh has become a mother figure for hae soo.
Another adult figure in hae soo's life, is Mr. kim her ethics teacher. hae soo slacks off grade wise, and he knows that she has potential if she just tried. Overtime he sees what's holding her back, and tries to help her with the troubles revolving around her life.
hae soo is only "dating" woo bin because he needed a cute feisty chick to show off by his side. the only reason she stays by his side as an act is because he pays her. whenever he gets to greedy for his own pleasure, she reminds him that she isn't actually his girlfriend by giving him a few punches to the face and a few kicks to the crotch.
at one point in her life, hae soo actually liked a little boy in middle school. her cared for her, and promised that he would marry her when they grew up. But sadly, they switched schools so her first and only love ended in middle school. but this helps her think of some good memories about her childhood.
