◢ JEONG KIHYUN [정기현] his given korean name; as apparently, his parents felt that it was necessary that he had one — just in case. or something. there probably isn't a soul who would address him as such, and he's rather glad (he's not a fan.) his parents might throw the name around when scolding his as some form of intimidation and to affirm the gravity of their words, but as luca has aged, the less of an effect it has on him.

◢ PLAYBOY due to his (for lack of better word) ty tendencies, luca has been crowned king playboy of the KASA mansion. many, if not all, girls know what he's like and there are a few that tend to steer clear, and also a handful where luca's impressive facial (and bodily) structure and promiscuous predisposition fits their aesthetic.

LIFESTYLE with a little bit of strategic thinking (and money), luca has opted to completely forego the dormitory life at ufl and save his would-be roommate from awkward encounters. no more than an eight minute stroll from campus is the apartment studio in which luca calls his bachelor pad (cue: groans). quite admirably decorated, plush leather sofas stretch the wall in the living area, a t.v. screen spanning the length on the opposing panels and a little bit of greenery in the corner by the window; the residence kept spotless, the fridge stocked to the brim and plants alive by his housemaid. you can always count on luca being prepared when it comes to alcohol, champagnes, beers and spirits always within hands reach — without fail.
if luca's studio apartment is any representation of the way he lives his life; it seems that his daily activities would be nothing short of thrilling and luxurious. and it definitely is, even though luca is an enrolled university student (bachelor of international studies, minoring in marketing), he seems to attend class an awfully inadequate amount of times. most nights are spent hopping from one bar to another; spewing out the promiscuity within and bringing girls home to the bachelor pad. when the sun is up and high (and when he's most likely supposed to be on the ufl campus getting his tertiary education), three of the seven days of the week, luca works as a barista at an upperclass café a short walks away from his complex.
that is, unfortunately enough, until his parents began cutting him off; wanting him to learn about the values of money, the importance of education and heritage. the bank account becomes far less bottomless than luca's used to and much more realistic, the sweet luxuries provided by his family begin to deminish and he's having to look after himself for once in his life. the bachelor pad has spiralled into all sorts of a deplorable mess, and the ludicrous amounts of alcohol in his possession are dwindling. after the revelation his parents have thrown upon him, he's begun picking up more shifts at his workplace, as sadly his job isn't just a place to pick up chicks anymore. poor luca.
as luca slowly tries to memorise class timetables, he has also signed up for the korean american students association — a low commitment bid in trying to learn a little more about his culture. it definitely wouldn't be an understatement to claim that luca is white-washed; he knows close to nothing about his heritage and tends to avoid having anything to do with it. his bi-weekly visits to the KASA are his weak attempts at fixing this, however, once he finds out just how fun KASA actually is, the biweekly visits eventually evolve into daily stopovers. he had never been one for soju or cheap beer, but the party customs that are tradition to KASA grow on him, and he starts to think that this is part of his culture that he can definitely get used to.
BOTTOMS UP underage drinking has never been a problem for luca — he thinks the legal drinking age in america is absurd anyway. it also doesn't hurt to back up his arguments with the fact that he's quite nearly twenty-one, so it's all fine. despite luca's partying and drinking habits, he's not in a fraternity, often deeming them a little disgusting and ratchet for his likes. it's not to say he won't attend a frat party or two, but the majority of his nights out remain within the KASA or in the nightclub and bars of new york. connections are everything, and so, luca has absolutely no trouble getting into his favorite places, an impeccably made fake i.d. almost always in his possession. it doesn't really matter what day it may be: a wednesday night before a nine a.m. exam? luca will still hit up his favorite bar — his miserable, hungover self can deal with the consequences in the morning. when out in the night, luca may just get himself into any mess that presents itself before him. he's not one to back down on a little adventure or a debauched dare, finding himself in unfortunate situations a little too often.
luca's alcohol tolerance is in truth, pretty impressive. he's the kind of person to 'lay a base' before drinking, upping his drinking capacity that little slice more. on an average night out, luca will consume anywhere between six to fifteen standard drinks — his pass out quota is twenty-three. that's not a state-of-luca that should be seen, it's really not that pretty, includes vomit, slurred flirting and straight-up unconsciousness. regrettably enough for daeho, he's had to drag luca's drunk home more times than should be necessary.
TRIVIA
◢ ALCOHOL prior to joining KASA, luca had a bit of a fine-tuned tongue to more pricey alcohol. there was no way he'd drink vodka that was cheaper than sixty dollars; beer was not even an option (unless it's some fancy artisan crap) and luca probably wasn't even very aware of the existence of soju until he joined KASA. he'll only drink soju within the bounds of the KASA house.
◢ INTOXICATION inebriated luca is an absolute riot. sober luca is already quite the thrill, but get a few shots in the man and he's ready to paint the town red. his flirtatious level skyrockets (as if they could get any higher), he's ready for any dare and he becomes even more generous when it comes to shouting drinks for others. regrettably enough, when luca gets past this sort of drunk, into an incomprehensible state; he's no more fun. he passes out, vomits, talks to the wrong people — all sorts of dumb moves. daeho has had to take care of this sort of luca too many times to count. daeho, you legend.
◢ SMOKING luca does smoke menthols on the regular. at first, it had begun as a social habit but it has definitely stuck and he has admittedly become addicted. he doesn't smoke large amounts but he does have atleast five a day. he also smokes recreationally, on the rare occasion where he does stay in, they'll usually rip up the bong, and order lots of take out food and listen to some records. this is a pretty uncommon happening though, luca definitely prefers alcohol; the drunk is better than the high, accordingly to luca jeong.

to a slight surprise, daeho and luca hit it off considerably quickly; as soon as luca had joined KASA, daeho was there to welcome him (to be as friendly as possible, and because, well it's in his nature). ever since, they frequently hit the town together, or daeho will try and whip luca into shape and drag him along to the library to study. daeho doesn't wholeheartedly agree with the way luca goes about talking and hooking up with girls but at the end of the day, daeho will always be there to drag luca out of a sticky situation. luca's pretty glad he's met daeho — he's created some pretty tremendous bonds after joining KASA but daeho has by far made the biggest impact.

marcus, probably luca's longest surviving friend who pretty much has been crowned the unofficial best friend and wingman. they had met way back in the beginning of high school; both hailing from affluent families. marcus also attends ufl and on the rare occasion that luca may be on campus, he might catch up with marcus every now and then. however, most of their time spent together is out on the town, hopping from bar to bar, nightclub to nightclub. marcus nad luca both lead rather similar lives, and together, they make sure to wingman each other the best they can, getting any girl that may strike their attention.

luca's current flame. unlike the past two, quinn isn't a girlfriend, moreso one of luca's typical girls. however, luca has come to like quinn more than other girls and has definitely come back to her enough to deem her something like a 'friends-with-benefits' sort of situation. unfortunately enough for quinn, she's begun to develop more of a romantic connection with luca, which he really isn't having any of. she's different from girls he has dated, she's definitely more attached, more soft-spoken and a little lost. currently, luca is still having fun with her and it seems that quinn is a little too reserved to open up about the feelings she has brewing inside. the moment she does, however, will be devastating for her because that's the moment luca will get up and leave in a split second.
