To start off, I'm sharing my conversation with one of my language exchange friends. He's a Korean studying English in the Philippines. I will not reveal his name but only sharing what seems to be some sort of 'FATE' we have. It even started with that word.

I use the language exchange app HELLO TALK. It's a mix of twitter and facebook that functions as a language learning tool between people learning each other's languages. It's free but you can only set-up 1 native language and 1 learning language. I've been using mine for a year or so. It's set up as Native English speaker -> Learning Korean. That means that I will mostly see Native Korean speakers -> Learning English and we can language exchange. I highly recommend the app. 

[1] "Fate"

When I started talking to him, we talked about personal basics. I then started talking about music because I was listening to a song sung by a Korean veteran singer Lee Sunhee. I wanted to ask if he knew the singer because I was listening to her song. And *boom* he happened to listen to the same song as me. Chances of this happening? Us listening to the same song at the same time.

But yeah, you can doubt it. Maybe he decided to listen to the song after I mentioned Lee Sunhee. And to be honest, "Fate" is one of her most popular songs that almost all Koreans know. 

[2] Age

When I had free time to message him when we were busy, I didn't know how to call him since Korean language is all about respect by age. If he were older, I had to talk to him politely. Or if we're the same age, we could talk comfortably. On his profile it said (23) so I thought he was my age or younger. He said he was fine with us talking comfortably. But I still wanted to confirm if we were the same age. Lo and behold, we're not. As I tried to uncover his true age, he made me guess it. I had 1/9 chance of even getting it right. The chances of me correctly knowing his age is just 11% .. but I ended up guessing his age correctly. WTF WOW.

Coincidence still? I dunno man. 

[3] Coffee

We messaged each other even in the morning, before he went to his English classes and I went to work. He practiced his english with me (so cute) and asked me what coffee I like. I drink a specific brand and type of coffee. Since he's in the Philippines, we have lots of coffee brands but Nescafe is the most popular and Nescafe has lots of different types of coffee. But who would have thought we'd drink the same type? It's not the ORIGINAL (which almost everyone drinks) but the Creamy coffee...

We end up drinking the same brand and type of coffee too. DAMN. 

But this ain't even the end of it. Yesterday, he couldn't message me because he was out at the mall with friends. I was also out for a meeting. After my meeting, I was at Pizza Hut buying pizza to bring home. I took a picture of where I was and sent it to him. Minutes later, he messaged me saying he was also at Pizza Hut eating pizza with friends. WHAT THE ACTUAL F--K. 

...so yeah. Is this fate? I mean... it all started with a song titled 'FATE'. This all sounds like some kind of drama scene tbqh. I'm surprised. But maybe it's all a mere coincidence. OR IS IT? lol.
