another night out. watching the sunrise, laying on the cool cement. that's rim, in the nifty little picture up there. honestly didn't know she had the courage within her. color me impressed. an interesting turn of events tonight — mischief ensued — as per usual. the cold breeze atop the roof of fancy corporative buildings is chilling, relaxing, freeing; it wipes the mind clean. the seoul skyline is as beautiful as ever. however, it stirs a fondess within me. i miss home. california. so many years, and yet, how does seoul not feel like home? it's bustling, warm; i've met people i admittedly am fond of, and yet? it's still such a mystery, one that i cannot wrap my head around.

the water is peculiarly warm at night — the weather is definitely dropping and i'm beginning to have to pull out my older, bulky sweaters. it's strange, the sand numbs the soles of your feet, that's how cold it is. but once you go dip your toes into the ocean, it's pleasant. so warming. a genuine night was had; shenanigans followed the night, especially when nature's pool is right there, within arms reach. fortunately enough for myself, i did not get thrown into the waves. as for a few other friends? well, they weren't so lucky. i hope we come out here again. it reminds me of home. maybe one day i can take my friends to the beaches of california. they would undoubtedly love it.

01 moved to seoul, south korea at the age of 9. lived in san francisco prior to the move. he still considers it home. he's quite... the dramatic soul; every little thing seems to trigger memories of his sweet sweet home — it's a tad bit tiring. in the end, it's probably just hung up emotions that he's drawn out for far too long. california may have been home before but he'll soon realise that seoul is now what he needs to call home.
02 arden is admittedly a bit of a music enthusiast. his tastes are rather versatile, but his favourite genres are hip hop, rap and strangely, alternative rock. he practically worships kendrick lamar and kanye west. he also favours drake, j.cole, tyler the creator, vampire weekend, the 1975 and the neighbourhood. most of the time you'll find arden with earphones plugged into his ears, spacing out and tuning out the world. it's not rare that rim or another friend will have to yank out the cord to grab his attention.
03 without shame, arden will fall asleep anywhere. sleeping in classes is probably something he's notoriously known for. there has been times in which arden falls asleep on the crews midnight escapades; and they have definitely taken advantage of this weakness. many times has arden woken up wit h rather ... questionable drawings on his face. his plush, baby-like skin is the perfect canvas for up and coming masterpieces, apparently.
04 arden is quite a picky eater, but on their late night adventures, most of the food that people suggest runs well with him. fried chicken (his absolute favourite) is definitely a yes, and a good macdonalds meal never hurt anyone.
05 rim and arden met in high school, but it wasn't until their junior year that they actually spoke. arden was most definitely a sort of loser, never felt like he belonged and never exactly made an effort; he was often seen alone. however, rim and her ever sweet and perky self thought speaking to arden wouldn't be such a bad idea. and it wasn't. they became friends quite fast. arden probably wouldn't ever admit it but he's infinitely grateful to rim for making his life in seoul a little less miserable, day by day and for introducing him to a group of people he can finally call friends.
06 despite his mysterious cool guy persona, arden's a bit of a baby. sensitive, if you will. he gets scared pretty darn easily (horror movies are a no-go) and has his fair share of insecurity and uncertainty in his actions. during their midnight ventures into the world, arden tends to stay in the background, very rarely stepping up to do something a little wild. he's extremely reserved, it's got to take a fair bit of convincing to get arden to loosen up. not to forget that there are times in which he falls asleep, leaving the squad in tatters (from laughter) at his weakness.
07 arden's grades kind of . he's working on it. he really didn't care so much, but as his time in high school is ending, he thinks he's got to make a little more of an effort. rim is helping him here and there, and he's grateful.
08 loyal, arden is so utterly thoughtful and earnest. once he finds people he can fully put his trust into, it's hard for arden to ever let go. he gets attached easily, which makes it all so much harder when he has to leave (i.e. california) or when someone does him wrong. he doesn't know how to hold burdens or be angry for more than the spurt lasts him. if anything, he finds himself apologising quite a lot. he's got a bit of a sarcastic tongue but as soon as he sees someone take the smallest bit of offense, the apologies just roll right out of his mouth.
09 aside from the squad, arden has no other friends. he has an older brother (aubrey jang, 22) who is mildly aware of what arden gets up to but doesn't say all too much. he isn't terribly close to his older brother, but they occasionally bond over music.
