hey so, ty af app because i can't seem to write what i want nowadays but hey i hope i get my point across regardless.
a word on hanjae's... speech? yeah, i included the 'word box' to kind of give you a clue on how he talks. he's not much of a vocal speaker as i mentioned but when he does it tends to pack some sort of punch. let's just say when he goes out of his way to comment on something, it's supposed to make you notice or realise something. or just... yeah.
personality wise the best way i can summarise him up is with the following traits & tropes:

individualistic, resolute, insightful, pauciloquent/pithy, resilient, dexterous, sensitive, perfectionist, private, 
the stoic/the quiet one, beware the quiet ones, lawful/neutral good, infj.  
KNOW ABOUT NOH.
An 18 year old Seoulite from an upperclass family with only one elder brother (Hyukjae, 24 fc. Shon Minho). Coming from a family full of lawyers and civil servants, he's rather blessed thanks to their wealth and connections. But it's only a gift in the eyes of others, for Hanjae it's more a burden than anything else. Constant scrutiny, high expectations, politics, greed, all things he disliked were what came with this blessing.

Unfortunately for his parents, Hanjae's aversion for their status and prejudice meant he would go against their wishes in anyway he could. As a result, he's rather estranged from his family, taking companionship with those from the 00AM crew aside from his brother and cousin.

Part of why he joined the crew was the feeling of freedom he experienced every time he went out with them. Out there with the other 5, he can simply live in the moment.

He's said to be rather aloof and apathetic when you first meet him. Well, even after you get to know him a little more Hanjae has been known to be rather straightforward and concise. A man of few (spoken) words, he prefers his actions to speak for him. The only time anyone can see any sort of superfluousness in his words is when he's writing. 

When it comes to friendship, Hanjae has great difficulty truly getting along with most other people. Rather than getting into arguments or facing any hostility, there's just a bit of a barrier composed of awkwardness that separates him from most. It doesn't really help when most take a quick look at him and write him off with one of the many stereotypes and labels he's been given over the years. While he might not escape this entirely with some members of the 00AM crew, he's still glad to find that bit of solace in their company.
TIDBITS.
note: just a bunch of random and probably useless 'facts' for the sake of making hanjae more... hanjae? i guess. could reveal a lot about him at the same time just be random nonsense you'll forget immediately.
a bit of a motorbike junkie. owns one of his own that his brother bought him for his 17th birthday. ‹ x ›
works at an auto repair shop to fund his own expenses since he doesn't like relying on his parents' money. 
wants to major in journalism with a minor in english and language studies.
the only proper social media he has is a rather dead instagram account with the username @nohddings. rim has taken it as a mission to get him to actually post things. aside from that, he runs a rather nondescript blog where one can actually find his photos accompanied by some of his writing or thoughts. with it having nothing to link back to him, the squad remains unaware of its existence (for now).
has plans to travel the world (and eat everything possible)
has an immense love for food, however despite being pretty good with his hands hanjae can't cook for .
has ear piercings, one on both lobes.
language fluency:
native / korean. pretty obvious.
advanced / english. parents got him a tutor and he found it pretty fun to learn. top of his year when it comes to english.
conversational / spanish. his latest venture in languages. seeing as he plans to travel in the future, he wishes to learn as many as possible. 
despite being a 'quiet' type, he can be pretty passionate about languages.
when it comes to hangouts, he's the type to just go with the flow rather than push for certain choices (unless he really has to). it might seem like he doesn't enjoy his time with the others what with his general silence but he genuinely does.
while he's not the type to sing in the shower, he definitely will be blasting songs while he bathes.
either sleeps or just in his boxers. he also has a habit of never really moving from his initial position when he's sleeping.
doesn't quite have fears like, arachnophobia or the like. he does have a fear of losing control, particularly of his own life. his 'rebellious' act stems from his wanting to break free of his parents' choices and restrictions.
the only family he's really close to is his elder brother, hyukjae and his elder cousin minsoo (22, fc. model kim kibum). aside from that, you could say he's pretty distant from the rest of his family.
the only reason he's pretty set apart from most of his family is that aside from his brother and cousin, they're all much to materialistic, greedy and political for his liking.
aside from the squad he doesn't really have any other set group of friends, although he surprisingly gets along more or less with everyone.
his 'role' in the squad tends to always fall to either bodyguard or peacekeeper. surprisingly, he does it rather well.
despite being seen as the quiet and aloof type, hanjae is pretty good at carrying conversation. he's quite empathic, contrary to what most people believe. if someone actually tries to converse with him, he'll return the effort wholeheartedly.
hanjae is rarely offended, so when people think he's a bit of a brick wall because of his silence or anti-social he doesn't mind. however he will silently rage if you think to talk about his friends badly.
only the squad really knows about hanjae's dreams and interests, aside from hyukjae and minsoo.
the squad has only visited hanjae's house once and he'd rather they never go again. he doesn't want his friends meeting his family (with the obvious exception of hyukjae and minsoo who the others found pretty cool) and risk being subjected to their prejudiced comments.
a little description of his brother and cousin.
hyukjae is a lot more vocal and openly adventurous compared to hanjae. in comparison to both hanjae and minsoo, he's probably the most insensitive of them all. he's confident and maybe a little cocky. he's rather laidback and easygoing and forgives easily.
minsoo is definitely the most gentle amongst the three of them. he's a kind soul, rather princely according to some. although he also has the worst temper. he's one to hold grudges and once someone has set his fuse off, he's the type to hide his anger and work behind to get back at them.

"[name], perhaps you need to rethink [name]'s intentions. let's try to talk about it."
"tsk. there goes the news again... can someone switch the channel."
[to hyukjae] "ah... you." [a chuckle escapes his lips]
"rim... be careful you might fall off the ledge."
[to someone talking badly about one of the 00AM crew] [hand clenched in a fist] "i suggest you shut your trap before talking about matters you don't understand."
[talking about his family] "they're . except for hyukjae and minsoo hyung." [a pause] "okay maybe hyukjae is a bit of an ." [he chuckles]
"huh? sorry, i was taking a look at vintage motorbikes..." [mutters to himself] "i wonder how much more i need to save up..."
[upon receiving a gift] "oh..." [he stares at the object, almost as if in disbelief before a small and rare smile appears on his lips] "thank you."
[asked to talk about someone who happens to be the person he likes] "what do i think about [name]?" [pauses to think] "they're rather interesting i suppose. they make me worry at times with their behaviour but they're capable of taking care of themselves. i find that to be admirable." [he hums] "they also seem to be troubled recently... i wonder why. do you think should i offer to chat with them?" [frowns slightly] "why are you giggling?"
note: hanjae rarely actively sets out to 'interact' per say with the crew. not because he doesn't want to or anything but simply because it's not in his nature. thus his seeking out of a person in this manner would definitely raise eyebrows.
[confessing to the person he likes] [stares at them silently, as if in thought] [is asked about it] "i just realised how fond i am of you." [he frowns] "you make me worry much too often. don't do that, or if you do then let me take care of you."
note: direct... sort of. he's no romantic but he'll make your heart beat with his straightforwardness? he's also surprisingly possessive, however as he dislikes restrictions, he will respect his crush's boundaries.
 
 

TERMINAL.
life is just a long ride.
we found ourselves at the end of the line. a tragic, bittersweet ending to a journey we thought would never end.

when our hands touch, it will be the last. we whisper our good byes in the dead of the night.

a soft inhale, trembling hands, it takes everything within me not to speak not to let a tear fall.

it's our last ride tonight. afterwards your ticket will be just a ride for one, destination: the after life.

a piece of paradise is found.
a crack in the walls, a breath of life, a preserved innocence. 

hidden treasure lay just between a the alley. found by chance, an instinctual turn that seemed more fate-bound than simple coincidence.

nature and civilisation meet, their child resting in that very street. it felt straight out of a picture, or a technicolor film.

in this very place that felt like a lucid dream, i swore i had stepped into paradise.
 

RIM.
unknown quantity.
a kind soul is a rare creature in these parts. where darkness creeps and the people weep, sunshine is a rare commodity.

it's a mystery, a puzzle. a complexity i can not wrap my mind around.

but maybe it's a lot more simpler than that. perhaps there is no need to overanalyze plain, small acts of generousity in a world that needs every ounce of it that it can get. 

sometimes, it's better not to wonder.
