BACKGROUND :　
¬ 1996 — Yewon is born to her mother Kang Yura and her father Im Songchul. She's their first child and spends the following years in her parents' household in Hwanho-Dong, Pohang. When she turns three, she is sent to the local kindergarten, where she makes lots of friends thanks to her bright and open personality. One of them is Kim Jongsuk- barely a year older than Yewon and possibly the biggest crybaby with a strangely strong love for stars she'd ever meet. Two years later, Jongsuk moves away with his parents because of family problems. Due to their still young age, they lost contact.

¬ 2003 — Yewon starts going to elementary school. At the end of her first school year, her father dies after years of suffering from leukemia. Her mother breaks down and is hospitalized for two months. Yewon spends this time at her grandparents' house in Songdo-Dong, Pohang, where her favourite ice cream shop resides as well. She grows close to the owner, Larry Nam, spending most of her vacation at his shop with her grandparents and friends. 
Her mother is discharged from the hospital. Shortly after, they move to Songdo-Dong to be closer to their family. 

¬ 2003 - 2009 — Just like in kindergarten, Yewon is able to adapt well to her classmates. She has a few friends she can trust. Love-wise, her popularity is average. She makes chocolate for her loved ones on Valentines' and receives presents on White Day in return. She falls in and out of love, yet never is officially bound to someone. Every time she turns down a suitor, her friends make fun of her for saying "I already gave away my heart to someone in kindergarten"... yet it's the heart she promised to the boy who left her side years ago to move to China, and whom she still saves a seat at Songdo Beach for, waiting for him to return to her side. 

¬ 2009 - By the end of 2009, her affinity for astrology grows exponentially. Yewon surfs the internet for more information and finds a fairly new online forum called SIRIUS. She decides to register herself and opens her account Starlight. SIRIUS becomes her main priority for a while, making her distance herself from most of her friends, whose interests and hobbies start to differ from hers. By the time Yewon starts high school in 2011, she's found a whole new circle of friends she spends her time with. Songdo Beach becomes something like their little hideaway, while the beach becomes the place they're usually seen at, doing everything from their homework over small fireworks to skinny-dipping at night (and getting scolded for it later on by the elders). Yewon sees the "Milkyway Squad", as their group is called on SIRIUS, as an extension of her family.
By the time she finishes High School with overall A grades, she has applied for studying human medicine at the universities in and closest to Pohang. 

¬ 2014 — Yewon's year of waiting for a place at Pohang University to study. She spends most of her free time at the beach, works part-time at Songdo Beach until Winter and then starts working at a hospice close to the University to gain some knowledge about life and death and their connection to ethics and medicine.
Christmas 2014, she was contacted by a SIRIUS user named FallingStar. He recognizes her on one of her photos in her private blogs. FallingStar reveals himself to be Jongsuk.

¬ 2015 - 2017 — Yewon studies medicine, still works at the hospice she started volunteering at in 2014 and still lives at her mother's house. She visits the beach every morning before either going to work or university, usually sitting there from 5 to 8 a.m. to free her mind from all of the suffocating thoughts she's had lately- after all, everyone expects Yewon to become someone big, someone prominent, someone who will make a change someday. Yet Yewon's too intelligent to believe. She knows that, compared to all of the secrets in the wide universe, the galaxies, she knows nothing. The expectations her family has often make her feel lost and ill, her friends being the only rescue from the thoughts fogging her mind.

No one, not even Jongsuk notices what a weak human being she actually is when their roadtrip in June 2017 starts- she's not as strong as him, or her friends, or her mother.
She knows she won't make it back all alone after this roadtrip is over.
