Elaboration:
Hwankyung infront of his friends has always been carefree, like never once did he have such a problem. One would never think he had a burden to bear. Infront of his friends, Hwankyung smiled alot and laughed a lot. He often kept emotions to himself and masked all those problems with a smile. Though it never really looked liked it but all these fights he often got into was simply because he hated seeing people treat his friends badly but if he knew they were at the wrong, he'd never even try to take one punch for them. He would even scold them off. On the contrary, they may seem like a useless group of teenage boys but it was Hwankyung who was their good influence but ofcourse he wasn't perfect so persuading him to ditch class from time to time wasn't that hard. Loyalty when it came to friends was top of his list. He'd never hit on their girlfriends, ex girlfriends, their sisters or what so ever that may cause misunderstandings between them or even fights but he doesn't really show interest in girls in general. He always felt like he had bigger things to worry about than petty relationships.

He has always been known as the strong one, laughing off problems and telling friends that everything will be alright even if it always felt the opposite when he was back at home. He doesnt' hate people, he thinks it takes up a lot of energy to do such but hatred in his heart for his father, he often makes eexcuses to himself that it was different, that the situation was different and his father should be hated for.

Hwankyung knows what he wants and more often than not, he would find ways to get it if they were reachable, if he wanted soemthing he'd work hard for perfection. A very good friend indeed and though it doesn't show, he's actually a pretty nice guy. He may act all though but he hates seeing people mistreated so whenever his group of friends would do such an act, he would turn away. He can't tell them off, surely not. He wasn't the mood killer, yes it's wrong but what can he do but just let things slide most times.

laughter was what he usually brought to his friends, sense of security and belonginess as well. Unlike the way outsiders would see him but ofcourse he wasn't perfect, so times these flwas that people saw were real.

His patience easily snaps when he's frustrated, disrespectful around pepple of authority and doesn't let anyone talk down on him. He may not think he's the best but he knows exactly what he's capable of specially when it came to fighting.

Often, he runs away from problems. Most of these problems are rfom fights with his father, resulting for a need to let off steam which would include trying to find people to beat up. Either someone who'd bump into him and act almighty, or a group of guys ganging up on innocent people.

He has a hard time opening up to people about his thoughts because he can't express himself properly and from time to time would cause minsunderstandings. Being an only son, and being in a well off family, there would be times that he lacks understanding others specially to ones who hurt him. He'd think of himself first ofte times when it came to emotions.

A first impression would depend on his mood, if he felt fine, he'd have enough patience to deal with you or even be completely friendly but if he's down that raging mode, it's best not to talk to him at all. He would usually seem like the bad guy at first btu all he ever needed was a slap of reality and someome to understand him.

BACKGROUND

As the son of one of the heads of marketing sales of whole Toyata, Hwankyung has always been expected to be the same as his father. Noble, respectable, responsible, a genuis, and so on. People had high expectations of him, his father wasn't of Japanese decent afterall and yet he has a high rank within the company, and more-so was based in the head/founding office, the one located in Japan . His father wanted him to take the same path. Infact, everyone around him were expecting that he took the same path despite all the flaws he currently has. His father had been given a rare oppurtunity back in his university days to work for the said Japanese automotive company because of of his professors had seen so much potential in him that most others were so willing to throwaway. Everyone was against his father working abroad but there was that one other person who believed in him, Hwankyung's mother. And thus, they both fled Korea to start a new life, a better life in a foreign country.

Hwankyung isn't a lot like his father tho, he's a complete troublemaker and very often getting into fights evern since middle school. Sure he should have been the odd ball for being foreign but no, Hwankyung had a way with people and that was one reason why he became friends with the well known group in school. He had always been a good fighter, all those taekwondo, hapkido, and jiu jitsu training his parents forced him too often paid off when it came to gang fights. He'd be the best, he's always the best, another reason why even those from other schools were afraid of him. As a child, Hwankyung was expectional, academics and sports wise he was always one of the best and maybe after a while that was exactly why he got tired of trying to meet other people's expectations. He got tired of putting up with things that didn't even make him happy anymore. He wanted to be himself but that was one thing he could never do, one thing he had lost in the process. He had lost grasp of who he really is that he wasn't even sure anymore.

Hwankyung still remained excellent in school despite being feared, he would still manage to be able to make it in top 10 of the school, and never below top 50 nationwide. The sole reason he ever wanted to strive, to cling to that last once of being a good person was his mother for ever since, it had only been her who took good care of Hwankyung. The only person he doesn't want to disappoint as much because it was always his mother who made him feel loved even on his worst days and worst state. He resented his father because he would always choose work over his family, he would always be the head despite not really being around anymore. Hwankyung barely saw the man and yet everytime he did good in school, he didn't seem to care, and when Hwankyung would cause trouble, he would throw a rampage that would sometimes end up in a fist fight (his father doing all the punching). His father had plans all set for Hwankyung and often made it clear that Hwankyung had no other option but to go with it, and that frustrated him a lot.

As a junior, almost nearing the end of highschool, he was excited because atleast even if he would need to take up whatever his father wanted him to do, he'd be in university wich meant in a way he was basically free to do whatever he wanted. But two weeks before graduation, his mother got shot and dead on the spot while in the grocery. The place had been hijacked, Hwankyung was at school and his father working.

His father had took it as a sign that it was time to comeback to his motherland even if it meant changing companies or looking for a new job. It woudn't be that hard for him anyway, now that he has proven himself, alot other companies were more than willing to take him in.

In life, all Hwankyung ever wanted was for his father to let him do as he pleases but after his mother's death, he took it as an oath to himself that he'd do atleast a little bit better but being forced to go back to a home he never once knew was a different story. He was told he'll be finishing his studies back in korea and ofcourse he was opposed to it but it's not like he can do anything about it anymore. It was frustrating that even in the end he couldn't stand up for himself. He wasn't even able to attendl the closing ceremony and as soon as the final exams were done, his father had insisted and had asked the school for favors that Hwankyung would take his leave.

Almost three months before school would start and the past two weeks of being in korea had been frankly boring for him. He was alone most of the time and if not, he was able to make small talk with his neighbor, Taeyong. Sneak in a few glances with the university student from across the street, Jung Soojung.

Taeyong had been so far his first and only friend, not exactly one he can confine in just yet but has been more than willing to answer every question Hwankyung had been so curious about when it came to korea and it's traditions. Although fluent in his mother tongue, there would still be instances that he would mispronounce a few words.

Family
Father | Moon Jaehyo | 47 | senior superintendent general | perfectionist, reliable, a quick thinker, strategist  | status: inside baricade | interaction: they're always hostile towards each other. having been pomised a high rank job in the police office once he went back to korea, he had went to work straight away and barely saw each other for those two weeks they've been to the country. now that Jiae was no longer around, there would be too much tention and awkward silence around the two to the point they never really talk to each other anymore.

Mother | Pyo Jiae | 45 | deceased | patient, loving, stern, thoughtful | status: -- |interaction: through the years, it was Jiae that had been with Hwankyung all his life. she loved her son and husband so dearly that there would be times she wished for hwankyung to be three again because those were the times Hwankyung wasn't treated the way his father was treating him now.  She gave so much patience and understanding towards Hwankyung that most times, he had no problem telling her exactly how he felt. She would scold him if he'd be in the wrong and just over all the perfect mother in his eyes.

Friends
bestfriend | yuta nakamoto (nct) | 18 | student | playful, dependable, stubborn | status: outside baricade | his bestfriend since birth, almost literally. they share the same birthday and had been in the same hospital and even live in the same neighborhood that they joke around being born for each other. brothers. that's what they are to each other. they're quiet playful and doesn't really filter their mouths whenever they wanted to say something to each other. often calling each other with insults, but almost inseperable that not even a girl could come between them (because Hwankyung has no interest).

neighbors | lee taeyong (nct) | 18 | student; part time convinience store cashier | patient, understanding, quiet | status: inside baricade | they talk formally to each other, casual but not too close yet. Taeyong is completly nice towards Hwankyung and would offer any help Hwaknyung needed. And already his first new (and only) friend in korea, also future schoolmate for the last year in highschool.

Other
past schoolmate | kanata hongo (japanese actor) | 16 | freshman in highschool ; student | quiet, thoughtful, kind, bright | status: outside baricade | it was one of those nights that dinner with his family didn't go so well and he ended up somewhere downtown and that's where he saw kanata, a younger batch from the same school being picked on by a group from another school. he'd seen the kid a few times and needing to release anger, he had (unintentionally) been the savior and now Hwankyung enjoys having some sort of little brother to protect. Even though kanata is quiet most of the time, it's Hwankyung who tries to always ease him up.

neighbors | krystal jung (soojung of fx) | 20 | university student | sweet, outspoken, responsible | status: inside baricade |he has this itsy bitsy tiny little crush on her (more than he'd like to admit) ever since the first day they moved. Her smiling face was what greeted him when he opened the door to see who had been knocking. and because even back at japan he showed no interest in girls, he didn't know what to do, completely clueless on how to deal with this situation and would end up feeling awkward and embarrassed when she'd glance his way while he pretends to be busy (by doing stretchings) right infront of their door. their interactions often (only) consisted of smile exchanges (because he'd get so tongue tied when she would talk to him or when he'd try to talk to her)

Brief explanation about your character's reaction when they found out about their newfound power and the havoc they have to face in their city :

he thought he was gonna die at that moment, but after finding out what fate has instore. all he wanted was to fly back to japan and maybe if he did end up dying there it would feel less troublesome but what can he do? he had always promised his mom that he'll try toalways do his best and all he could think of at that moment was the supposed reaction of his mom, he didn't want to disappoint her further and all he wanted was to be that good son she could be proud of.

Interview at 8:03 PM
Where are you and what are you doing right now?
/walking downtown with hands in his pockets looking incredibly pissed/ it's none of your ing business.

[ hwankyung got into another fight with his dad over what he's execpted to do and to behave as so right now, he's practically going nowhere really]

Are you with someone right now? Someone waiting for you? Or you waiting for someone?
Do you see anyone with me? Are you ing dumb? /rolls his eyes, and grunts trying to calm himself from another fight with has father from earlier/

[no he's all alone and just wants to be alone. it's not japan, it's not his territory to just try pick a fight with people]

Do you have any plans after this? Or are you going to head home?
/halts from his tracks and looks  straight, running his fingers through his hair/ I'm giving you 10 seconds to leave me the alone.

[ he plans on going straight home after cooling down]

What is your plan for your entire summer break?
rot in hell.

[ adjust himself with the new surroundings, take in kroea and probably work out on talking to the girl he fancies]

Does your family mind if you stay out late? Is your house nearby?
why do you even care? the away from me. what are you? a stalker?!

[ his father's been used to Hwankyung walking out and so and doesn't mind since the latest he usually comes back would be 11. midnight is the latest and nothing more than that]

How do you deal with hardships?
/cracks knuckles ready to throw a punch/ if you're that curious, I'd gladly show you.

FACE CLAIM

face-claim #1: kim taehyung (v) of BTS
face-claim #2: kim myungsoo (L) of infinite

appearance: jetblack hair, a height of 180cm, a body built for fighting, dark brown eyes that may sometimes look as if it's piercing through ones soul. he pretty much looks like anyother, no alterations of any sort and would rather not stand out when it came to looks

style: he's mostly the large shirt, a snapback, pants and sneakers kind of guy. hair always down rather than styled, he doesn't care much about his appearance unless it had to be some formal event then he'd suit up real good.

LAST WORDS

Comment and suggestion : appearance and style will always be my weakness omg. I really didn't want it to seem to angsty but that was the initial back story that struck to me once I read the hints. if you feel it's too heavy you can tell me and I'd try to lighten things up. my character is probably a little like msot other teenagers, a different personality when it comes to friends and family. I tried to be as realstic as I could.

One suggestion though is that maybe a kind of interaction when it comes to fellow chosen ones, you can ask again once the characters had been chosen. that way they'd be able to read about the others and have ideas on how their characters would treat each other and so on.

Most my scene suggestions would revolve around Hwankyung u w u

All my relationships are based off on current. specially ones when he came to korea so it would be most welcome too if ever, that he gets to meet new people ;u;

suggestion on the awakening: could be that with all the people going around, he didn't really need to turn on his phone's light (he didn't want to anymore since it felt of no use seeing there was no signal or anything). he'd be out and maybe around and his feet taking him to the street food heaven that Taeyong brought him to a few days ago. everyone using candles and operating their usual business and checking the time, maybe 11 by then he'd be walking back home, a little scared of the almost pitch black and empty streets and candles looking even scarier than they were supposed to. He almost reaches home by 11:58 , maybe a few minutes more and steps later that's when screams start from different sides and he tries to run but he's forzen, something moves from around him and until he sees it causing him to fall down. Seeing as he'd never seen anything like it and was far beyond normal, he thought he was going to die only to hear a voice in his head and there....

-- I actually can't still grasp much on the concpet where how they bond so Idk what I wrote ;; omg

Scene(s) suggestion :
➤ Hwankyung getting into a fistfight with one of the other teens where in he beats them up and another scene where he let's them beat him up because he knows he ed up.
➤ Yuta supposedly trying to surprise his bestfriend by coming to korea ( but idk if that would work since I wrote him as outside the baricade)
➤ Hwankyung just giving up and letting go of all emotions, fear of disappointment, just letting it all out and cry on someone's lap.
➤ Part maybe where he thinks his father died, or has been assuming his father's death.
a part where he supposedly sacrifices himself becuse he learned how it meant to be selfless but at another point, he actually survived.
➤ someone he knows dying infront of his very eyes (like a workmate or a neighbor)
➤ people he's with looses hope but he encourages them and tries to help them escape but half the group dies and he blames himself for it
➤ really awkward interactions with females, like sometimes it seems as if they're a disease he tries to avoid
➤ he speaks japanese to express frustration, or annoyance or adoration because he knows they won't understand him and if someone asks what he says he'll be like "I said you would have been good looking if only you weren't so deaf" or other sarcastic phrases and sometimes even speaking more japanese just to annoy them
