Okay.

I still think the name is stupid.

The song Whistle is boring af with no substance.

The song Boombayah (or however it's spelt) is pretty dang good.

Can tell that Lisa+Jennie are meant to be the new CL.

Can tell that Jisoo is meant to be the new Dara.

Can tell that Rose is meant to be the new Bom.

so I dislike that whole "new version" thing.

But!

The members are obviously talented.

I love the line distribution (finally more than one person in aYGgg)

And is it just me? But Jennie looks like Naeun lol

all in all, verdict = I like them. I don't "love" them (because I'm salty over the whole Winner being side in the basement thing GRRR) but I DO like them. They're gonna go far, I think.

I must admit that I was a little bit dissapointed at first coz they reminds me so much of 2ne1 and I can't feel any uniqueness in them, however, I can't deny the fact that they are beautiful and talented af that there's no point of me being salty...so imma support these girls and I am hoping they'll find their true color and uniqueness in the future promotions to come. :)

Instead of a debut.. I'd rather see YG come with a comeback or some activity for the artists he has already. Just my opinion..

They aren't supposed to be the new version tho as far as I know. YG said himself that he made them as 2ne1 and if they had released these songs a few years back when 2ne1 debuted they would still do well. But I really liked Whistle and Boombayah but it took me a few listens for both songs. I guess I like their style bc it reminds me exactly of old 2ne1 before i love you came out. And yes Jennie looks like Naeun. Someone in the comments of one of their mvs said Naeun did this this this and someone was like....that's Jennie

Tbh, I tend to presume everything YG releases will be disappointing so I've been waiting for someone to give the new girls a more down-to-earth review before checking them out. So thanks for this xD lol. Will go watch boombayah.

I'll admit it, I may or may have not had a field day with the name BlackPink when it was first announced. Because it's a silly name and it's easy to make fun of.
I completely agree about Whistle; I couldn't finish listening to it at all. I haven't got a chance to listen to Boomblahblahblah yet (nailed the spelling), but if you say it's pretty good then it probably is, so I'll have to listen to that soon.

boombayah is catchy and fun and when i saw their dance practice, i instantly wanted to stan them! even though i swear i can't get into another group >u<
and i saw someone say that yg doesn't think winner's songs are good enough so they're not releasing them or smthing?

YAS! Jennie looks like Naeun lol xD And then Jisoo reminds me of Yewon and Dara mix. Boombayah gave me a very strong 2NE1 vibe, so yeah the new thing is kind of 'huh?'. But overall I love BlackPink so far :D
