when people see han suwon, they would usually make a remark on how cute she was... after they commented on how hamster-like she looked. it might be because of her supple cheeks and her small face, paired with her small, monolidded eyes that become beady when she squints, but suwon just comes out looking like a small rodent, and no matter what she does, she just can't seem to change her face, whether she changed her hairstyle or wore fake glasses. suwon isn't very tall, standing at 152 cm and she doesn't look like much with her weight of 45 kg. despite her short height, she looks rather lanky, and underfed, but that's not true; she eats like a cow, but loses that weight easily. because she constantly heats her hair, it comes out wavy now, and somewhat frizzy, but that doesn't stop her from continuing to heat her hair. suwon has pale skin, which is due to her avoiding the sun and constantly plastering on sunscreen onto her body. though there will be times where she doesn't do her hair, she always manages to do a little bit of makeup. she will never walk out of her dorm without eyeliner, mascara, eyebrows, and lipstick on, unless if she's extremely comfortable around the people she's around or if it's really late and there was no chance of anyone being awake. she doesn't look that much different without makeup, but she just likes having it on anyways.

suwon tends to be rather stubborn about her beliefs, which ends up being like a double-sided sword. at times, it can be good for her, but other times, it can be rather demeaning, but she never really stops being stubborn. she'll defend her beliefs to the end, and although half the time, she's right about it, the other half of the time is just her making a fool out of herself. despite that, suwon is quite adamant about what she believes in, and although there are embarrassing times for her, she is quite resilient and rarely backs down from what she is serious about. despite that, she tends to be quite secretive, and although she looks like the type to be an open book, suwon is actually pretty reserved about herself. she doesn't open up that easily, and will rarely tell someone something extremely personal about herself. she is quite good at holding in secrets from others, however, and keeps her lips sealed.

despite her cheerful demeanor, suwon is extremely insecure, and it all stems from her lack of techniques while singing. she's always known that she was not fundamentally a great singer, and as the years passed by, it became more apparent to her. she's always doubted herself, and it has finally manifested into a large blob of insecurity and self-doubt towards her singing skills. she would never admit it to anyone, but she was not confident about herself at all, and was always anxious about it. when people ask her to sing, of course she would want to cater to their requests, but there was always that small moment of hesitation where she wonders to herself, am i even qualified to sing? it was a question she asked herself all the time, and especially moreso after she got into pledis high. she tends to be rather sensitive about it too. when chae yeomin started insulting her on her lack of skill, she was quite hurt by that, although she would never admit that she was. she would push it away and pretend like it didn't hurt her at her, but really, it destroyed her. her feelings are easily hurt and she takes criticism a lot more personally than she should, but she can't help it. it just happens, and she hates herself for being so weak and fragile, but she just can't help it. it's not her fault that she's easily upset, but sometimes she wonders if she's just being too touchy about it. suwon tends to be quite immature and silly as well, sort of like a child. it tends to be quite annoying actually, as she whines and acts like a child. though she doesn't mean to, her maturity is definitely equal to a kids, and it really does get on other people's nerves at times. suwon lacks a lot of courage, and tends to run away from things that she's interested in, merely because of her fear. this also stems from her bad singing techniques, but she's rather timid when it comes to doing things that require singing, such as posting a cover or singing in front of others, and in a sense, she always runs away with her tail in between her legs. some call her spineless and some say she's faint-hearted, but suwon knows that she's cowardly; she just doesn't have the confidence to push herself to be courageful. she's also one to conform to the authority of others when she's not too busy being stubborn. she gets pushed around easily, and tends to not voice out her opinion. she's unassertive and has never made it a point to try to rebel against what she's told to do. suwon is rather docile, and when you tell her that she has no spine, she can only agree with you.

BACKGROUND

in the beginning suwon was born and raised in seoul, specifically the yongsan district of seoul. she was the youngest child, and the only daughter of the family, so of course her father was quite overprotective of her, but suwon grew up with a brother that she bickered with everyday and a pair of parents that were always busy tending to their restaurant. despite owning a restaurant, her parents were simply middle-class because of the high rent they had to pay for the restaurant building, but it was still livable. truth be told, she didn't spend much time with her parents as a kid because they never had time for her or her brother, and during the lonely days where she would stay home while her brother would do club activities and her parents would be working, she would be singing to herself. of course, she was never too into it to actually ask her parents to put her into lessons, but she was rather good at it, and she didn't sound all too bad. most of her childhood was spent staying home or going to her childhood friend, jaewoo's house, and sometimes helping out at the restaurant when she got old enough. her parents firmly believed that she should start learning how to cook from a small age, so there goes little suwon, barely tall enough to reach the counter of the kitchen, and she was already learning how to cook. it paid off, though, because she learned a lot from her parents, and cooked for herself when she was home alone. when suwon was old enough to go to elementary school, her parents had jaewoo, whom she had known since she was a tiny baby, and her brother, wonshik, walk to school together. although suwon had played with jaewoo a few times, she didn't really get to know him until kindergarten and that's when their friendship blossomed. truth be told, jaewoo did secretly have a crush on her at the time and showed his affection by showing her pictures of lizards that he liked, and that's how suwon eventually became scared of lizards.

watching the time fly as suwon grew up, a lot of her friends went and gone, with the exception of jaewoo, who has always remained by her side. when she was a teenager, she spent most of her time stressing about school, and releasing her stress by going to the han river, or shutting herself in her room and humming a tune on her bed. by this time, jaewoo was quite aware that suwon was a good singer, and even pushed for her to go to pledis high school with him. at first, suwon was iffy about the idea, and has always stubbornly said that she was just going to go to a regular high school that was near her house, but has always kept the idea in the back of her mind for jaewoo out of respect. by this time, he was posting covers on the internet, and he really tried persuading suwon to sing with him, and despite refusing the first few times, she was quite adamant about it, so she finally gave in and agreed to do a cover with him. it wasn't easy for them to decide on a song, and although jaewoo wasn't that much of an experienced singer, he knew that suwon was only a girl with a good voice, but didn't have that great technique, though he didn't mind; he really just wanted to sing with his best friend. finally, they got to recording a rather famous song together, and suwon didn't realize how popular jaewoo really was because that video quickly shot up in views in just a few hours. it was her first exposure to being popular on the internet, and she really wished that she dressed up better, but reading the comments made her heart drop. though most of them talked about how nice the song was and how hot jaewoo was (though suwon couldn't really see it), there were a few comments that bashed her on her bad technique, and it broke her heart to read them. she didn't want to seem like a baby about it, though, so she pushed it on the back of her mind, until jaewoo asked her to do another cover with him. she was reluctant about the idea, but he managed to convince her yet again, and they did another duet together, which garnered the same amount of popularity as the other video that they made together, but again, suwon saw the comments about how terrible her technique was, and she was hurt. they didn't know that she wasn't a professional singer, so how could they judge her? she tried pushing it off of her mind, but it was all she could think about for a few days, until jaewoo rushed into her room, holding two letters in his hand and excitedly shouting, "suwon! suwon! we got into pledis high!" suwon was confused; she couldn't remember applying for the school, and jaewoo saw her bewildered look, and explained that they sent him a scholarship letter for the both of them, after they saw the pair singing together. "they must've decided that we had potential," jaewoo explained, handing suwon her letter, but she wasn't listening as she just stared at the envelope in her hands. did she really get into pledis? was she worthy of getting in? jaewoo was adamant about going to pledis high together, and at first, suwon wasn't sure, but after thinking about it that night, she finally decided that she wanted to go. pledis high could help her with her technique and her small dream of becoming a singer. of course her parents were reluctant about the idea at first, but after hearing that jaewoo was going to go with her, they decided to let her go because at least they could trust jaewoo to keep an eye on her. shortly after, suwon moved to her dorm in pledis high, and started her life as a student there.

OTHER
▸ suwon used to have braces, but now she has to wear her retainer at least once every week (she also has a lisp whenever she has them on).

suwon and her father have a relatively decent relationship with each other; he tends to show a lot of love with her, and she's definitely daddy's little girl to him. he treasures her a lot since she's his only child, and the pair usually can tell each other many things, though suwon gets a little grossed out every time he suggests that she should just date jaewoo already. he works diligently at their family's restaurant, and because he wants his lovely wife and son to rest, he's usually the first one up to start prepping up the store.

suwon and her brother get along relatively well, despite them constantly fighting in their childhood. it was crazy actually, they would always bicker and get themselves in all sorts of trouble, but as they grew up, they started to appreciate each other much more, and although wonshik doesn't share a musical dream like suwon, he's supporting her along the way. his dream is to succeed the family restaurant, so suwon is also supporting him with his aspirations as well. they don't talk everyday, but when they do, they share everything with each other.

the pair have been best friends ever since they could open their eyes (or well, that's what they like to say when they describe their friendship with each other, but it's true; they've been together for mainly all of their lives, and they know each other like the back of their hands, perhaps even more. though jaewoo can be a real debbie downer sometimes, it doesn't take long for the pair to reconcile and get along once again. suwon shares everything with him, and so does he with her, and they're always seen together. it's a wonder how they haven't gotten sick of each other yet, honestly.

yeomin is the girl that suwon can't seem to get rid of. because she is one of the better singers of pledis high, she frowns upon those who don't sing as well as her, most notably han suwon, and goes out of her way to make a condescending sneer at her or to belittle her whenever she has a chance. suwon doesn't say anything to her, but there are times where she wants to scream out her frustration at her, but decides otherwise. it doesn't exactly help when she's the best friend of her roommate either.

raeyeon is suwon's roommate, and although her best friend definitely doesn't have the highest opinion of suwon, raeyeon really likes her (mostly because she's a good roommate and doesn't get on her nerves). the two aren't super close, but they are on good terms, but it gets a little awkward when suwon walks into their room, and sees the demon, er, yeomin inside, so to avoid that, raeyeon usually just texts her whenever yeomin visits, and suwon makes it a point to hide out in jaewoo's room.

seungcheol was one of the first people she befriended at pledis high, other than from knowing jaewoo, and they get along really well actually. since he's such a playful person, the pair are known to play around a lot of the time. they are rather close, and suwon finds herself being quite comfortable about him. he's one of suwon's biggest role models, and she's surprised how hardworking he is. his passion for music is outstanding, and she draws inspiration from him a lot of the time.

IT'S WHO I AM

STYLE/FASHION

suwon has a simple sense of style, and doesn't make too much of an effort to look stylish, though she'll follow the trends occasionally. she likes to wear sweaters, jeans, and scarves in the winter, and a simple t-shirt in the summer. her clothes don't have a certain color palette to them; she just wears colors that she likes and thinks would match with each other, but she would probably never wear the color green ever in her lifetime, just because she doesn't like that color at all. suwon isn't the type to wear a skirt all too much because it's just not her style, and mostly because she hates having to shave her legs (though she'd never admit that). she prefers to be on the more conservative side, so she's not likely to be seen in a crop top and revealing shorts. when she's heading out anywhere, she mostly likes to be comfortable and wear leggings or shorts, paired with a random shirt, but it tends to be thinner in the summer because of how hot it gets. although not frequently, suwon likes to wear visors and baseball caps, but the mess her hair gets after wearing them is astounding. a pair of sneakers are almost always on suwon's feet whenever she's outside, but she wears a pair of flats when she's attending a fancy event, or if she's feeling really fancy, she'll daringly slip on a pair of heels. her hair is almost always down, and on regular school days, she doesn't do much to it, unless if it looks like an absolute mess, but she'll occasionally curl her hair if she has time. suwon doesn't have any piercings, so you can't expect to see a pair of earrings dangling from her ears, but suwon isn't much of a jewelry person in the first place anyways. very rarely will you see anything remotely close to jewelry on suwon, but in special occasions, she might bring out a few pieces.

PLACE OF RESIDENCE

suwon lives in a dorm on campus, and she shares her room with another girl. the room is relatively simple, but it's actually quite nice since pledis was generous enough with the spacious rooms, and suwon has enough room to herself, even if she has to split the room with someone else. she doesn't have much, only a bed, a dresser, and a desk, though there's space to just chill. suwon and her roommate are rather neat, and keep to themselves, so you can expect their room to be organized and clean, and not a speck of dust to be seen. they have a small bathroom to themselves, where they keep their toiletries and makeup in drawers, but other than that, there's nothing special over there. suwon's desk is usually pretty neat, save for the clutter of water bottles around the edge of her desk, and the random books that she places on it. she keeps a few photo frames on her desk, showing a picture of her and her family, and her with jaewoo, just because, but she also likes to tape random pictures next to her bed, so she can look at them before she goes to sleep. for some reason, suwon's roommate thought it'd be cute if they decorated their room a little bit, so there's just a string of christmas lights placed carefully around the room that gets lit up pretty often actually.

CALL ME THE STRUGGLING SINGER

many people know han suwon as the struggling singer. it's true that suwon is a relatively good singer and she has good pitch and can read music, but she has horrible technique. her breathing, posture, and more aren't as developed as she'd like them to be, so that's why she's at pledis high, attempting to fix that problem. ecause of her bad singing techniques, you can usually see her stress eating, though she mostly hides her anxiousness under a mask of confidence.

SCHOOL LIFE AND QUESTIONS

wHAT IS YOU GOAL/dream IN LIFE?

"i have a lot of dreams actually, but right now, my biggest goal is to become a singer that i can be proud of. i'm known at pledis for being horrible with my technique, and it's really embarrassing to be called bubble breath... they think i don't know, but i really do, and i want to be proud of myself for getting to a point where i feel like i'm actually a good singer." suwon mumbled bashfully, hoping that she didn't show her discomfort from talking about how lacking she was.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO PLEDIS HIGH?

"i got into pledis because of a scholarship. they offered it to me, and i took it, and then they decided to place me in the vocal department. since i'm a scholarship student, i don't have to pay for anything, thank goodness, and until i graduate, i don't have to pay a single cent, but i do have to maintain my grades and prove myself worthy of this school though," suwon beamed, happy over the fact that she didn't have to pay the high fees that pledis high school required.

What do you think about pledis high and the socialite/high-class lifestyle of all of the students? are you apart of that lifestyle?

"well, pledis high is pretty nice and it's really challenging at times, i would say, but i mean, i don't mind the socialite students... they don't really interact with me much, and i don't really have much to say about them, except for thanks for funding my education, i guess. it's kinda just, you know," suwon replied, pausing to think of the word. "...kind of different."

How long have you been attending pledis high? And what are your best subjects in school?

"i've been at pledis high for about three years already! my best subject is probably history and my program classes, but i wouldn't say that i'm bad at my other subjects, except for math," suwon said with a small shrug.

DO YOU ALREADY KNOW ANY OF THE OTHER OCS OR SVT? IF SO, WHO AND HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THEM?

"oh yes! i'm pretty good friends with seungcheol, he's nice and really good to have as a friend, you feel me? i've also had a few classes with jeonghan and joshua, but i'm not really too close with the other ones, but i mean, i would know them if i saw them in the hallway, i think. but yeah, i'm closest with seungcheol! he listens to me really well whenever i tell him something, but i mean, i worked on some classwork with joshua, and he's really nice - kinda quiet, but nice. i'm kinda intimidated by him because of how quiet he is actually," suwon blabbed, recalling her interactions with the boys she knew. "and as for jeonghan, he seems to be quite nice. i would really like to be friends with all of them."

WHAT PART OF THE PROGRAM ARE YOU IN? AND WHAT'S YOUR MUSIC GENRE/STYLE PREFERENCE?

"i'm currently a singer in the music and arts program! i really like singing ballads, since i convey my emotions well, but my teachers say i'm not really good at it because of my bad technique, and that i'm better at singing pop. i mean, i can sing pop though, it's pretty fun, but i think i don't like country that much... well actually, i don't think i like many genres, like metal, rock, blues, opera, but i do like the more chill side of music, you know like deep house? yeah it doesn't seem like i would like edm, but it's the calmer side of edm, but i still don't really like that many genres though..." suwon trailed off, thinking about the various genres she didn't like.

hong jisoo, or joshua, as he likes to be called, is known to be one of the more serious guys on campus. he owns a stoic expression on his face a lot of the time, save for the rare occasion where he cracks a smile at something he found amusing, but joshua is also quite serious about his passions as well. his love for music is unrivaled and he's always practicing and honing his talents. though he looks rather timid and shy, joshua is actually quite confident in his abilities and towards his looks, though he would never admit it. he knows he's good looking and he knows his skills are quite good, but he also knows the limit where it turns from confidence to cockiness, and never treads near that line. despite that, he has confidence in himself and for that reason, his stage presence is actually quite strong. he may seem standoffish at times, but he's really quite gentle and handles everything carefully. with people and animals, he always has gentle hands to hold them with and when people need it, joshua's willing to give a pat on the back. he can't hurt a single soul and he's actually really mild in temperament as well.

despite that, joshua is really shy and finds it hard to approach others. it used to be worse when he was younger, and he often shrunk in fear towards others just because of how intimidating he thought they were, but it's gotten relatively better as he's grown up. despite that, he still has a hard time making friends because of his shyness, and it's usually others that approach him. also, once he meets people, he tends to be the most awkward person in the whole world - literally. the conversation almost always ends because of how awkward he is, and it's kinda funny how many um's and uh's he sputters out. it's embarrassing for him, but his friends don't really mind because his awkwardness depends on how close he is to the person. for thsoe he doesn't really know, he's quite awkward with them, but for those who he's comfortable with, he isn't as awkward, and has less embarrassing replies. he's quite reserved though, and it takes a while for him to reveal his true emotions. he tends to keep to himself more, and only relies on his closest friends for advice and such, but with others, he shows a more reserved side of him. he's almost taciturn actually, and he usually has little to say, and tends to convey his emotions through body language or facial expressions, but that's fine because his friends still enjoy his company anyways.

LOVE STORY

it all started here suwon and joshua met in math class during their second year at pledis high. they sat in the same group, along with two other people, and suwon sat next to joshua, while the other two faced each other. because of joshua's quiet nature, he didn't say much, and suwon often found him awkward to talk to, so she didn't particularly talk to him that much. truth be told, she found him quite intimidating - his seriousness made her feel a little too scared to talk to him. he was pretty good-looking, she had to admit, but he probably would never be interested in her in years and besides, he was awkward as heck anyways. suwon, being the math idiot she is, was often lost in the subject, and always struggled while writing down notes; after he finished working on his problems, joshua would always notice her furrowing her brows while looking at an equation, and although he kinda wanted to help her out, he was too shy to say anything to her. well, to be honest, joshua always had an eye on her; he would notice her crippling math skills, and would just watch her write something down hesitantly, but then erase it in frustration. they never talked, and suwon wasn't even aware that joshua noticed how bad she was at math, but as time passed, it was amusing to him how adorable she looked while struggling with math. it was funny too because of her hamster-like appearance, and while he knew that suwon wasn't appreciative of how people remarked on her rodent-like features, joshua thought it was pretty endearing. for suwon, there were many times where she just wanted to turn to her left and to ask joshua for help, but she couldn't muster up the courage to do so, until about halfway into that year. she bravely turned and whispered out a "hey joshua... can you help me?" he was surprised that she actually said something to him, and although he was awkward while helping her out, it warmed his heart when her face lit up and she blurted out an excited, "thank you so much joshua! you're so good at math."

love isn't an equation suwon was pretty embarrassed that she had to ask for his help on such an easy problem, and she assumed that he probably thought she was an idiot, but it was heartwarming that he was so patient with her. for the rest of the year, she would ask for joshua's help, although sparingly, but he was always kind enough to help her out with her work, and suwon was surprised how good of a teacher he was. whenever he taught her, math would become so easy and she would suddenly find herself understanding it, and that's probably why she started to form a better impression on joshua. though he looked serious, he wasn't that bad, and he was actually pretty kind. unfortunately, the year ended before they could become comfortable with each other, and suwon wasn't expecting any classes with him in her senior year, but to her surprise, he was the first face she saw when she walked into her english class. suwon happily sat next to him and greeted him warmly, but wasn't surprised when he answered her back awkwardly. she was used to it now; after a few times of talking to him, it was clear that he was just naturally awkward, and she should just be patient with him. shortly after, they had an english project, and since suwon only knew joshua, she paired up with him for the project (and also because he was good with english too, so he could help her out), and it started off pretty awkwardly, as expected. despite that, suwon was her usual cheery self, so she tried to ignore his awkwardness; it was funny, at first she was intimidated by it, but now she found it amusing.

the sparks of affection suwon decided that they should work on it in their dorms, and when she remembered that the nasty yeomin might visit when they were working on it, she decided to do it in his dorm room. luckily for her, his roommate was seungcheol, who she got along with pretty well, but when she came over, joshua made it a clear point not to get distracted. suwon agreed, and started getting to work. it always amazed her how gentle he would be, and suwon really looked up to him. he was such a great person, and it only took two nights for them to finish up their project. to be honest, spending that much time with each other made them become slightly closer, and suwon mustered up the courage to ask him for his number so that they could text each other. seungcheol later that night, accusing her of having a crush on joshua, but she denied it in an instant, and reasoned with her just wanting to be friends with him because he was a nice person. obviously, seungcheol didn't believe her, but he just let her say what she wanted; she'd change her mind later anyways.

the beginning of something new suwon was always the one to start the conversation with joshua, and it was kinda hard at first because of his awkward replies, but after 17 years of living, suwon has learned how to answer to awkward replies, and she was pretty glad that she wasn't one to produce dry answers. she progressively became closer to him, and eventually, they started hanging out with each other more. suwon found herself in his company a lot of the time, whenever she wasn't hanging around with jaewoo or seungcheol, and she really did enjoy it. ever since they met, joshua was quite aware of suwon's lack of singing techniques, so he bravely approached her one day, and asked her about it. it was the first time he'd seen suwon acting so awkwardly to him, it was like the tables were turned. she seemed to be pretty insecure about it, actually, and despite her optimistic exterior, joshua could see that she was quite worried about it. he offered to help her out, and suwon was embarrassed at first; she didn't want joshua to see how bad she was, but she finally cracked and let him help her. when he heard her sing, joshua knew the rumors were right; she was indeed a good singer and her voice was beautiful, but her technique was off. of course, joshua wasn't perfect, but he knew basic techniques that she didn't grasp, and while it was a difficult task to teach her, it was a slow, yet rewarding process. he definitely saw her improve, and although it wasn't much, he knew that she was getting it. all was going well for the first few lessons, until a random girl accidentally walked inside the practice room that they were in, and joshua saw suwon's face pale right away. he figured that the girl was named yeomin when suwon greeted her, but he was shocked when she started snarkily belittling her. suwon took it quietly, but joshua couldn't stand to see her being insulted; she didn't deserve it. he quickly told yeomin to leave, and even he was surprised with how demanding he sounded, which was a real contrast from how he usually is. yeomin and suwon both stared at him in surprise, but yeomin quickly left, muttering to herself, and suwon thanked him quietly. like him, she was surprised that he expressed himself so vocally, but he was more concerned about how she felt. it looked like she was about to cry, and suwon was surprised yet again when he gently brought her into his embrace and soothed her down with soft back rubs. the gesture was so sweet and unexpected that suwon accidentally let out a few tears, but joshua accepted them wholeheartedly, making her cry even more. she was touched with how good of a person he was, and it was clear to her that she harbored feelings for him. on joshua's side, he was relatively sure that he also had feelings for suwon, but the both of them never would've expected the other to have feelings for them. after that incident, they both became even closer to each other, and joshua even started to open up to her more. though he's not very talkative at times, he's still quite affectionate and a good friend, and his attention towards suwon is undivided. the pair could never blurt out their feelings for each other, in case they ruined their friendship, but there was no mistake it was there. joshua was someone that suwon cared dearly about, and she was at a loss as to how much she liked him. he was someone very important to her, and she wondered if they would ever be more than friends, but that's only something they can find out later.

they call it love suwon and joshua kept up their friendship for a while, but the both of them often wondered how the other thought of them. did they like them back in the same way? would they ever have their feelings reciprocated? it was a touchy subject for the both of them. joshua kept teaching suwon different singing techniques, but it was harder and harder for him to supress his feelings for her. all he wanted to do was pull her into a hug and cuddle with her, and pinch those adorable cheeks of hers, but he kept himself under control. whenever he saw her talking to her friend jaewoo or seungcheol, he would get annoyingly jealous; why couldn't that be him? he didn't know what to do. even when he confided in seungcheol about his feelings towards the girl, the male would only tell him to follow his heart, but what was his heart even saying? it was funny to seungcheol, though, since both suwon and joshua told him about their feelings about each other and how similar they felt. he would chuckle to himself, thinking about how similar they are, when they talked about each other, and how endearing it was. they both pounced for the phone every time their text tone rang, and their faces would light up in joy when they saw it was each other, and don't even get him started on when they see each other. it was clear that they both liked each other, but they just needed a small push to get together. it was cute; both of their worlds became rose colored after they became closer to each other.

here it all goes everything was going well for them, until one day - suwon was a mess. it was nearing the talent show that pledis high always held, and she kept on messing up. her technique was getting worse and worse with each try, and joshua was hurt to see the girl he liked struggling so badly. she was on the edge of tears, and she didn't seem to improve, but the talent show was nearing so she didn't want to risk taking a rest. he didn't know what to do; suwon seemed so stressed, and he was at a loss. finally, he bravely told her to stop, and pulled her into his embrace. "it's okay, you don't have to push yourself," he mumbled to her, and although she didn't answer, he knew that suwon was calming down, judging by the pace of her breathing. "let's do a duet together," she finally said to him, and he was surprised, but nodded happily. from then on, they picked a cute song that was rather appropriate for their levels. it started off good, but once again, suwon had another breakdown as the talent show came nearer. she had definitely improved on her technique, though, joshua knew that she was just nervous. she wasn't as bad as she used to be, actually, she was pretty talented for being able to learn so fast. it was just her insecurities, and joshua was well aware of that. so when suwon was sputtering about how bad she was and how horrible of a partner she'd be, joshua just shut her up with a daring kiss, and suwon was shocked. when he pulled away, he replied, "shush. you've improved so much and you're so good now. you're not the same bubble breath you were months ago. stop worrying so much, you're such a good singer now. you just need confidence in yourself." suwon knew that he was right. he was right. he was so right. she did need confidence in herself. it was a realization moment for her, and after all those crippling months where she believed that she was nothing but garbage at singing, she realized that joshua was right about how she needed confidence. even she knew that she improved, but of course, she didn't realize it until now. although it was fleeting at times, suwon really did boost up her confidence after that, thanks to the boy that she fell in love with.

in the end the pair ended up dating after that surprise kiss that joshua planted onto suwon. well, they never actually asked each other out, but do words really need to be said when they finally figured out that they both had the same feelings for each other? of course, suwon was confused for a bit, until joshua confirmed that they were official, but that was that, and although he was too shy to be affectionate with her publically, he still made sure to hold her hand wherever they went. in the end, they both strive towards their dreams, but it's with each other's support that they are able to do so together.
