Hope everything is fine here ^^ I've been out most of the time but I still think of you every once in a while.  Good thing you didn't lose your heads when the servers went down this time around. (Or did you?)

I slept the day away or most of it; and organizing a bridal shower and editing invites in between naps. I'm getting rusty with Photoshop but thanks to aleric's floral collection I was able to pull it off. Yep, I used the white rose pattern for both wedding and bridal shower invitations. Yay for having talented friends here in AFF!  My services are free, haha. And now I'll be making the wedding invitations for my unnies in the coming years haha

Yesterday was dad's birthday. And (huff) I wasn't able to prepare a gift. But I would do it anyway. Since he is in Gen San and my sis is busy organizing for the recognition and graduation events at the university, I celebrated on my own.

Ha! I ate too much, in short.

I had four hickory smoked barbecue flavored chicken wings with veggie sticks and cilantro rice. Yummy. I ate the veggie sticks with the yoghurt dip or was it a sour cream dip. Oh anyway. Then I also ordered french fries! Honey mustard dip is my favorite :)

The Gansai Tambi Starry Night watecolor set will arrive some time next week. I don't think I would be ordering from that online shop where I bought the starry nights again. (How could they  mess up the address I filled out in their online form?)

Anyway, I'm rambling. I will use it to make his birthday card, along with my calligraphy set which I received last Friday. (It didn't come in a set, I just called it that. I bought nibs, a wooden cork straight holder with a universal insert and sumi ink.) I'm going to paint the front of our house to go with the card. Maybe I'll post it here. (I've been collecting brushes lately, LOL)

I'm done with Lesson 9: Portraiture but I'm nowhere past beginner skill level 1. I worked on it for 3.5 hours, got home late too, past nine o'clock in the evening. But she was horrified when she was my drawing. Haha. "That's not me!" Mom had a good laugh when I showed it to her. I'm going to try doing my sister's portrait again until it resembles her.

Next would be Gesture Drawing but I asked for a two-week break, which ended last Friday. I don't think I'm ready for Lesson 10. I think I should at least master Lesson 9 first before moving on. It's overwhelming.

I have always wanted to attend Art-related events and activities. Last June, I was able to participate in our local OCC (Over Coffee Coloring) event although I don't drink coffee. I won an official Kolorista shirt too, yay! It's just depressing how all the cool events are held far, far away from me. Sigh.

Once I feel comfortable in showing you my artworks, I will post them in a blog. HAHA!

I also joined another facebook group, exclusive to Filipino artists, called Guhit Pinas. And I just realized how people are weirded out with the Korean name I use haha. Kyung Hee Kang is a fictional character in AFF Cafe and I used it as a pen name for Keeper's facebook account.

Well, I posted a few drawings - outputs of my art lessons - and I comment regularly. HAHA. Well you know how I am... I research a lot - read reviews in articles and watch tutorials in YT so I have lots to say even when I'm not a pro I sound like it to some. That and because I'm used to writing in English.

I also like buying art materials. Someone even posted this comparison pic - a fat guy with lots of art materials in his bulging backpack wearing shades and a smug look on his face vs a skinny guy with a pencil who is crying.

Everyone kept saying that they could relate to the latter but that it's okay even if they only have a pencil because at least, they are talented unlike the "fat guy".

I didn't want to take offense but I couldn't help but comment. Yes, I am a beginner, not as good as them, but I also have a job that pays for my art materials and art lessons. Is that unfair? For someone unskilled as I am when it comes to drawing to have art materials? Why make a beginner feel guilty for having the ability to afford graphite pencils and paint brushes.... like they are wasted on me. Sigh. 

Moving on...

After Descendants of the Sun, I kinda miss watching kdramas again. Soompi has been posting articles about W.  I'm curious.

And yes, this ARMY stayed at home while BTS had their concert here. I was trying to forget since June when I found out. Solid #TeamBahay (bahay means house). Oh, I read somewhere that they will be returning this September. Hmm. 

I also saw the poster for the latest Detective Conan movie. It will only be shown in a few selected SM Cinemas here on August 3 (unless SM changes their mind). My place not included. Sigh. #TeamBahay #NoPlaceLikeHome
