Youth ~ Kim Sunhi
☼Kim sunhi☼
PERSONALITY TRAITS :
Negative traits:
♦Jealous- She keeps this feeling hidden pretty well, but when she starts to talk in short sentences with a little bit of attitude behind her words, that's when it starts to show. When texting someone, she will use periods at the end of her sentences.
♦Indecisive
♦Sneaky/Eavesdroper- Sunhi is very quick on her feet thanks to dance classes, which makes her quick as a cheetah. She doesn't always uses this in a bad way to sneak around, unless it's absolutely necessary. Sunhi doesn't eavesdrop on purpose, most of the time she just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, which is how she hears rumors before it gets throughout the whole school. But at other times, when she's in a crowded room or hallway, she uses her selective hearing to her advantage. She wouldn't want a rumor about her to be spread around.
♦Hot Tempered (when someone is pushing her to her limits, but no one has ever done that and seen it, not even Sunhi...yet)- Before ever coming to Pledis High, Sunhi never saw the bad side of her come out in public, ever. But that might all change due to a certain boy in her class. Sure, she has gotten mad before, but she never expressed it to others, she wouldn't want them to see that side of her and to think bad things.
♦Curious
Postive traits:
Creative•- Sunhi would create her own dance moves and even make her own songs by creating her own lyrics and notes, even before she took dance and vocal classes. The teachers for both classes found her creativity in her skills very impressive, making it easy for her to become an important part of the class as they left her in charge whenever the teachers were away.
Determined•- Sunhi doesn't quit, and she has shown it by pushing through her vocal classes with damaged vocal chords and through her dance classes with a broken ankle. Those two things didn't slow her down in the way of her dreams. Her parents, worried about both injuries wanted her to rest, but Sunhi found loopholes to quicken up the healing process.
Alert/Aware•
Humorous•- Her dad was a jokster around the house when Sunhi was little. She learned from him and saw how laughter is one of the very best medicines and she saw that she wanted to brighten up people's day with a little bit of laughter.
Helpful•- When students had problems in her classes, they would always come to Sunhi for advice and help since Sunhi had to go through her own problems with a borken ankle and damaged vocal chords.

PERSONALITY :
▸ "Once I start something that is in my interests, I won't quit until I succeed." Sunhi isn't the type that gives up easily. The second that she got into dancing and singing, she kept with it, even though she has broken her ankle and damaged her vocal chords in the beginning. People said that she should just give up in order to not have her hurt herself more. But due to her creative thinking, she found a way to use her vocal chords to good use, even though they got damaged. This got Sunhi to become one of the most popular students in chorus and dance as she gave advice to other students who have gone through similuar situations. She would brighten up their day by her humorous jokes that she got from her dad's side.
▸ "How do I know this? I'm a ninja like that." Before any rumors got around in Middle School, Sunhi was always the first one to know about it. Although she was the first one to know, she wouldn't dare tell another one until it started to spread. From her accident in Elementary school, she learned how to use selective hearing to use for her advantage in case there was a rumor about her.
▸ "No one would ever see me get angry." This might be Sunhi's biggest truth, but it could also be her biggest lie. She hardly ever gets angry or hot tempered in front of other people unless she can't help herself. People have always seen her be friendly and happy. If Sunhi ever got angry, she could just go off the edge and speak what's truely on her mind, which could not be good for her and the other person.
▸ "Do I need that? No, thank you, I'll be fine." And this is the problem with Sunhi. She doesn't really show her true feelings during a situation that could make her look bad or needy. Yet, Sunhi doesn't want people to view her as Miss Independent, either. She will ask for help whenever she does need it.
▸"I can tell that you're upset, even though you're hiding it." If there's one special trait that Sunhi has, it's reading other people's hidden emotions. She can read people like a book, even if they're trying to hide their emotions. She would try to talk to them, if they would like to talk, about certain situations and she would help them out in any way that she can. But then Jun comes along, and suddenly it's like a challenge that Sunhi would gladly accept to take.
▸ "I'm sorry! I'm just so exicted, I can't stop smiling!"
"But your voice, too?"
"It just natrually does that."
Whenever Sunhi gets excited, her voice would go up to a higher pitch, and her words would sometimes spill over each other. Her smile also remains on her face for a good long while when she gets excited about something.
▸ "Just remember, I'm here for you whenever you need me." There's Sunhi, always the helpful and kind person. She would never turn her back on anyone if they need help or support. She's had several cases where she would have people cry on her shoulder while they talked about their problems or situations, let it be for dance or vocal classes, or just everday real-life problems.
BACKGROUND
On the night of October 11, 1999 in Los Angeles, CA, it was surprisingly very cold, that little tiny snowflakes fell from the sky and layered the ground. It might've been cold outside, but inside the hospital of Los Angeles, it was nice and warm, the perfect temperature for newborn Sunhi. As dark as it was outside, Minho and Suhyun saw light instead as a new member of the family was added. So, they named her Sunhi.
Sunhi wasn't the least bit shy growing up. She would approach every student in her class in Elementary school and try to befriend them, no matter how awkward she might seem. At home, she would sing out loud and dance to her hearts content. Despite having her parents having high paying jobs, they didn't think twice about what Sunhi wanted to do when she became older. They wanted to see her daughter succeed doing something that she loves, and not doing something that she was talked into. Music made her go to another part of her mind that felt at peace and would sometimes take her into a world full of imagination, thinking of music videos and ideas for the music itself.
Sunhi knew that everyone envied her. That they knew of her rich parents and family. But once people began to know her, they found out that she wasn't one of those types of people; that she wasn't stuck up and snobby. To everyone's surprise, they lived normally. No, they didn't live in a mansion nor did they have fancy cars to drive around in. Sunhi's parents wanted Sunhi to know that even though they have a lot of money, they wanted to teach her that it won't buy happiness.
It wasn't until Middle School that she started to attend dance and chrous classes. That's where she really began to shine. The school held mini school plays, and Sunhi was in every single one, until in 8th grade, she got a lead role. It felt like her hard work paid off, but that didn't stop her from continuing what she loves doing. She wanted to become greater and achieve her main goal. And that's when she found out about Pledis High. Before going into High School, she applied to Pledis. But once the results came back, she was devistated. But, still, Sunhi didn't give up, as she saw that there was always the next year.
But once that application failed, she was starting to believe that she actually might not be good enough. She did know, however, that students can buy their way in, but she didn't believe that was how it should work. A week before she started her Junior year, she found out that she got into Pledis, even though she knew that she didn't try to apply for it. That's when she found out that her father contacted them and paid them big money to have Sunhi attend. Sunhi and even her mother wasn't happy with what her father did. She thought that they were teaching her that money doesn't buy happiness, Sunhi thought that he went back on his word. While she did want to attend Pledis High to accomplish her dreams, paying her way in was the last thing that she wanted to happen.
On a final decision, she and her mother decided to move down to South Korea. Her father on the other hand, had no choice but to stay behind due to his job. This, of course, didn't settle well with Sunhi's mother, but she didn't want to see Sunhi down in South Korea alone; plus Sunhi was still learning Korean, even though Sunhi's Korean was pretty controversal at that point.

RELATIONSHIPS (FAMILY, FRIENDS & ENEMIES/RIVALS)
▸Father — Kim Minho (38) Faceclaim: Byung Hun Lee/ Anesthesiologist/ Nice, loving, humorous, stritct, can have a temper, very work focused/ Sunhi was very close to her father when she grew up. They pratically did everything together when Sunhi's mom was working at the college. But due to him paying Pledis High to have Sunhi attend after being denied the first two years, she fell distant from him as she felt that it wasn't the right way to let her attend. It doesn't mean that she doesn't love her father, she just wished that she got in the natural way. Sunhi hardly interacts with him anymore due to her moving down to South Korea for Pledis High. Once in a great while she will videochat with him, but even then, she won't say much to him. She doesn't like to hold a grudge, especially against her own father.
"I'm only doing this so you could follow your dream. I hope that you can realize that"
"Yes, but dad, that's not how I wanted in. I worked hard for them to see my talent, not that I can buy my way in. What happened to 'Money can't buy happiness.'?"
▸ Mother — Lee SuHyun (37) Facecalim: Lee Bo Young /Housewife during the summer, College professor (mathematics)/ Loving, caring, not as strict as Minho / When Sunhi's father would be away at work during the summer, Sunhi would spend a lot of time with her mother. From time to time SuHyun would teach Sunhi Korean. Sunhi's favorite mother/daughter memory is going to the local ice cream parlor nearby and have ice cream together while heading over to the park, swinging on the swing set. The year that Sunhi found out that she got accepted in Pledis High, Sunhi and her mother decided to move down to South Korea together, as Minho was unable to move with them due to his work. This gave SuHyun the opportunity to come back to work at University of Seoul before she moved over to the United States for her teaching opportunity.
"You know, even though it's not how you wanted in, we are still so proud of your hard work."
"Thank you, mom, I really appreciate it. I will show what my hard work can do."
▸ Best friend — Kwon Soonyoung (Hoshi; 17) / Pledis High Student / Nice, very helpful, gives great advice, funny / Sunhi and Soonyoung met in their dance class on her first day. He was very nice to her and welcomed her to the school. They got along quite well, unlike Jun. They both talk quite a bit about dancing, and how music both influenced their lives. Together they actually form a great team, and both of them formed a great friend bond. Sunhi really appreciated this as she thought she would have a hard time befriending someone, especially after meeting someone like Jun.
"So, you know about Jun already, right?"
"Yeah."
"Well, then I don't need to explain him then!"
▸ Enemy — Wei Junhui (18) / Pledis High Student / Bad boy, uncaring, rude, flirtatious / Sunhi hates to admit it, but she is starting to become closer to Jun each day, even if it's just a little bit. They didn't start on a good note at the start of the year. Was it becuase she was new? Or was it because of something else? It has been driving Sunhi a little bit confused, yet curious as to what his problem is with her. Jun for some reason doesn't take a liking to Sunhi, but that doesn't stop Sunhi's interest in him, despite being enemies.
"Don't you have anything else better to do? You bother me enough already. The library is empty right now, just as you like it, so why don't you just go there and read your book?"
"...how...how do you know that I do that?"
STYLE/FASHION : Sunhi loves to wear casual and simple clothing, but that doesn't mean it's boring; she goes for cute and trendy. She's not the type to wear something just so she can be noticed. In the fall and spring time, she will wear jeans, maybe capris or a skirt with sandals if it's nice enough outside. Not being a fan of summer time, she likes to keep it simple with a dress where she can feel the breeze and feel a little free. Jeans with a long sleeve shirt or sweater with sneakers will keep her nice and warm in the winter time. When it comes time to go to bed, she likes to cuddle up in a cami and shorts. Accessories aren't that big of a deal to Sunhi, but she will wear a headband from time to time, along with a necklace or bracelet. You will never see her wear more than one accessory at a time, if she's even in the mood to wear them.
PLACE OF RESIDENCE :
▸ Currently, Sunhi resides in one of the dorm rooms on campus. She would have a roommate, but since her dad paid the school to put her in at the last minute, she got the last dorm room, leaving her all alone. Sunhi would originally be living with her mother, but since her father has already paid the expenses for the school, it would be a waste not to live in the dorm room.
▸ The room of the dorm room itself is huge. Once you enter the room there is a white bookshelf that runs alongside the left of the door with a desk at the corner with a laptop and desk lamp. Right before the desk, there is a corner that has a small hallway that leads to the bathroom and laundry rooms. The laundry room includes a washer and dryer, and the room itself isn't too big. Right next to the laundry room is the bathroom, which is a little bit bigger. The bathtub and the shower are two separate spaces. To the right of the entrance of the dorm is the living area, including a sofa, coffee table, and a flat screen TV. Once entering the room, you can see an open staircase that leads up to the bedroom, with wide windows and a queen size bed that's pressed up against the wall. On the cieling, there is a chandelier that is the main source of light, other than the balcony windows that in the living area. On the opposite side of the bed, there is a vanity with a closet and dresser on both sides. Wooden floors is the most used flooring, except for the bathroom, which is tile. The main color scheme of this door room is quite simple, yet elegant; light pink, white, and pastel yellow.
PLOTLINE : The Hidden Treasure
Sunhi came into Pledis High knowing who she is. At least, that's what she thought. Upon attending the school, she seemed to be aware that there were two types of people; the stuck up rich people and the people who were like Sunhi, nice, friendly, and helpful. But as Sunhi starts to hang out with the bad boy of the school, she starts to discover that she isn't all who she thought she was. Sunhi soon discovers that she would need to learn how to balance her emotions along with the sudden attitudes that she never thought she would have. Maybe she's a hidden treasure to what the school could need; balance.
School life & questions:
wHAT IS YOU GOAL/dream IN LIFE? :
▸ My life goal? Mine? There's quite a few, actually. First and foremost I want to achieve my main dream, which is to become a singer. I doesn't really matter if I'm solo or not, as long as I get to sing and dance on a stage, I will be content. Secondly, I want to enjoy life. Life is too short, and we all need to live it to the fullest. Sure, it might be hard right now, especially with all the learning, but it's all worth it in the end, right? Thirdly, I want to make my parents proud. Although I'm not as close to my dad right now, I want him to see me succeed by my hard work...and not just by being rich.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO PLEDIS HIGH? (if you're an elite student that is in for reasons other than a rich family then include the program you're in or scholarship and information about your oc in that program) :
▸ Well, it all started when I was in Middle School and I joined Chorus and took an extracurricular dance class. Both of those classes helped me improve and step up my game and I actually found out who I really am. When I found out about Pledis High at the end of eighth grade, I knew that it was right for me. I applied for attendance for the first two years, but I was denied. But this didn't stop me from giving up on dancing and singing. I praticed extra long and hard every day after my regular day of High School until I could get accepted. It wasn't until almost the beginning of my Junior year that I found out that I got accepted thanks to my dad. My mom and I found out that he paid for me to get in and even have me attend its music and arts program. This didn't settle well with me as I thought that all my extra hard work didn't pay off, but he knew how much I wanted in.
What do you think about pledis high and the socialite/high-class lifestyle of all of the students? are you apart of that lifestyle? :
▸ It's really interesting. Different from any other school I have seen. The campus is beautiful and clean, the dorm rooms are nice and stylish. Pledis High really does feel like somewhere I should be. Although my parents are rich, I didn't really live like I was rich at all. We had a normal, everday looking house, normal cars that weren't high class, so the high-class lifestyle is still something that I'm getting used to.
How long have you been attending pledis high? And what are your best subjects in school? :
▸ I've been in Pledis High for three months, during my Junior year. I wish that I would've attended longer and started out as a Freshman, but sadly, I couldn't control that. My best subjects are music, dance, and math, which don't surprise me at all since those were my best subjects before I came here. I wish that I was better in history and science, though, but I will get through.
Do you already know any of the other ocs or svt? If so, who and how do you feel about them? :
▸ Seventeen? Oh boy, I know that there's 13 boys, but all I know of is Jun, Hoshi, and Woozi. Although, I have heard of the other members, I haven't been able to interract with them that much; I've only said the occasional hi to them in the hallway. But let's start off with the first one that I met. Jun. What can I...what can I say about him that won't come off as rude? Jun, though, he's...how should I put this nicely? He can change his attitude a bit. Jun should be a bit more caring than he is. I don't want to say that he's rude, but sadly, that's the truth. Hmm...mysterious. ...interesting. Oh, sorry, how did that come out interesting? I meant uninteresting. He's the typical bad boy, I don't know what else I would expect him to be like. But, I'm not going to lie, he is extremely attractive. But that doesn't change the fact of how he acts towards everyone. Oh, his interactions with other girls? Outragous! Going around like he can play other girls hearts like that. Does that boy know love at all?
▸ Hoshi is my best friend. We both met in dance class and immediately created a great bond. He reminds me of me a whole lot, but I think he's far better at dancing than I am. I think of him as very funny and smart. I love how we can talk about anything, unlike Jun sometimes. Sorry, I don't know why I keep mentioning him. Anyway, he became my best friend upon my first day of school. Definitely one of the nicer students that I know of.
▸ Lee Jihoon, or Woozi, is, in my opinion strict and very focused on school work, especially vocal and dance. We don't really talk all that much except for when we have vocal class together. I would sometimes ask him about the other members when we are on a break, but it seems like he doesn't really want to talk all that much. Kind of reminds me of Jun a bit, how he doesn't really talk a lot to other students. Oh my...I'm sorry. I got to stop talking about that boy...
(IF A PART OF THE MUSIC AND ARTS PROGRAM ONLY) What part of the program are you in (dancer, singer, musician, rapper, etc.)? And what's your music genre/style preference? :
▸ I am in the dancer and singer part of the program. My music genre and style changes depending on my mood, but mostly it's pop and rock. Most people are surprised when I say I like rock music, especially when they first look at me.
(IF A PART OF THE MUSIC AND ARTS PROGRAM ONLY) Talent twin:
▸ Dance talent twin is Victoria (F(x)) *Backup is YooA (Oh My Girl)
▸ Vocal twin is Lizzy (After School) *Backup is Taeyeon (Girls' Generation)
VIPKellbell : kell
LAST WORDS : I'm finally done! :D I hope that it's good! If accepted, I can't wait to see what you write! I believe that it'll be a fantastic story!
SCENE REQUESTS (At least two ideas for either just your oc or all of the characters) :
▸ Sunhi and Jun are studying together alone in the library, when it gets to a point that they seem like they are actually getting along.
▸ Sunhi is alone, trying to find a solution to her conflicted feelings towards Jun and wondering how it could mess up her dream.
▸ Jun being slightly jealous about Sunhi and Hoshi hanging out
