It's fairly normal for a person to feel competitive against someone who is in the same field of interests as you, so I probably wouldn't say "a good thing to feel". If you think of it as a way for you to get motivated in writing stories, or finding a way to make your stories flow smoother and better, then I think it's okay. And all the more of bringing in comments and subscribers to your stories, no? ;)
