Filipino childhood

Okay,so this is about childhood...more specifically my mom's and my siblings....

So my childhood is a typical one internet,gadgets,games,bikes...so basically,a typical city girl childhood. So,Imma tell you about my mom's and my sib's.

So...my mom grew up in the country...and most of it...I really wanna experience...she talked about playing in the streets, watching our farmers do their thing, catching fireflies in the fields at night, swimming in the sea, climbing trees just to get fruits, catching insects, fishing, fiestas, looking for ghosts, boodle fights, going to the storage just to get some stuff and make something....gah it's a better childhood than this generation....

Now,well...I can't do any of those but I would love to.And...you gotta admit, this kind of childhood is better than others.. Naïveity,carelessness,happiness....it's a good childhood....streets games? That's not possible here anymore...it's now considered too dangerous....but howcome my mom's generation could play in the streets unharmed?Didn't that mean that we used to be safer before?

Btw you actually didn't read anything wrong....we really do own farmers....those were the ones that take care of our land properties and all.I remember my mom telling me she borrows the farmers' children and take them home to gake care of them.....she said she really loved kids.....

She said my grandpa used to take her and my uncles to the beach a lot so they caught a lot of snakes, fishes, clams and more....they can already dive underwater without all the gear because they practically grew up in the sea.....

I remember her stories.Of boys going to her class and courting her....of offers to the dances in fiestas which are like a town party....for the whole town...and there are shows...like singing, dancing, fire dancers,of course the food is there. Then there's the boodle fights...,gah...it's basically a whole family cooking then lating it all out on a large banana leaf on a table then they all dig in.....climbing trees....yeah,we have fruits trees in our garden and my grandpa's sister has an abundance of them....they just climb them to eat fruits they want.....

Those aren't possible anymore for my generation....but for their's? It was.......

Same. My mom childhood is full of adventures in Philippines. To learn how to swim, my grandfather threw her and her siblings out of the boat to the waters.

And omg. The courting stories are so sweet! Nowadays it's just through text.
