OBSERVANT :: In order to make friends, you have to be sure of who they are as a person. Before jumping straight into her "hello" mode, Minhee does take the time to creepily watch how people react to certain things, their usual moods, and overall body language. Though she is welcoming to all, she has had her run in with some..not-so-friendly people before. And from that experience she has made herself to be more cautious of others.
Her observance also serves as an advantage in telling one's mood. Through subtle facial expressions and gestures, she can try and make assumptions of the emotion someone is currently feeling -- and with that she can adapt to how to interact with them.

HARDWORKING :: Hardworking and determined. Once this girl sets her mind on something, she will follow it through till the very end, and she will be sure to give in her all the whole time. Because of this trait, she does have the tendency to overdo it at times. Even to go as far as having fainted more than once after or in the middle of practice due to lack of sleep or energy. So though she will always put in the effort till her last breath, it's feared that her last breath might come sooner with her lack of care.

EXTROVERTIVE :: Upon first meeting Minhee, she is honestly a fairly shy and reserved girl. She won't usually make the first move, due to past events, but once you actually make the effort to get to know her, she will progressively open up to you. Behind her quiet demeanor, she is actually a loud, outgoing, and friendly person. She will smile at you in the hallways, and at times be unable to shut up once you get her talking. All it takes is for someone to give the first push for the ball to start rolling.

BLUNT :: Minhee isn't afraid to speak her mind. Since a young age she was always taught that "honesty is the best policy," and that it is better to tell the painful truth than spare someone with a lie. So with that mindset growing up, she always told the truth, no matter the harshness or pain that ensued from it. Because of this she was deemed a "" by some (such as other kids) for acting so "coldly;" but in truth, it was just not in her personality to lie (which also makes her a horrible alibi).

PLAYFUL/A TEASE :: Though one of the older members of the group, she still holds that child-like spirit within her. She is an energetic free spirit that enjoys playing little harmless jokes and pranks on people within the company. Especially towards her friends (and crush), she gives them countless "offensive" nicknames such as "doodoo brain," "booger breath," "fart master," " nugget," etc -- names you would see young siblings calling each other.

RISIBLE :: Minhee is a laugher, there's no doubt about that. You can always expect her to be the one rolling on the ground, clutching her stomach and unable to breathe just because she misheard someone. And though she has a pretty nice laugh, she sometimes can't control it. Because she laughs so easily, she tends to laugh at..unnecessary moments too, which poses at troublesome. Now, she isn't one to laugh at funerals or something, but say someone fell or got hurt, she would burst out in little chuckles making it seem she lacks morals and worry.

SARCASTIC :: A mix of her bluntness and playfulness, this girl can cause serious "reck"age with her venomous tongue and witty remarks. When she sees an opportunity, she immediately takes it, usually causing people to be surprised (cause a smol plumped cheek girl somehow just burned a muscly twice-her-height man) or walk out cause it was too hot and they had to get out of the kitchen.

STUBBORN :: Minhee is very hard-headed; once she declares something, she will stick to it. She refuses to give up her position on a matter, and will wage a full out war on your family and cows (lol "dishonor on your family, dishonor on your cow--" /smacked) only to prove her argument - even if she may be (which she usually is) wrong. She stickers to her guns and beliefs, refusing to even hear out any opposing statements.

FORGETFUL :: There's a reason why you might see five THOUSAND strings tied to Minhee's fingers, it's because she is incredibly forgetful. You can't tell her to remind you of something, because she honestly does have the memory of a goldfish (as well as the attention-span). So don't mind her if she is mindlessly wandering around the dorm looking for something, she is only trying to recall where she last placed her drink.

DISTRACTABLE :: Of course to go along with her forgetfulness she is easily distracted from tasks at hand. It's not as though it is intended, but Minhee is the type to quickly lose interests in things, whether it be watching tv, reading a book, or sitting around. She is almost like a child that constantly needs their mind or hands occupied with something. At times she would even start unknowingly playing with another member's fingers, hair, or clothes.
 

⟪ BACKGROUND ⟫

→ HOW I WAS CONCEIVED ← When EXO was still a single unit, Minseok had fatefully met JinJing during a promotion in China. The group was partaking in a photoshoot with the model when the two first caught sight of one another. Minseok was quite taken by the petite female, but JinJing was more focused on the task at hand. It wasn't until the end of the shoot when Minseok attempted to have a conversation in Chinese with JinJing did she truly notice him. She found his attempt endearing, having seen him try hard to impress her. They continued to talk until Minseok was ushered away by his fellow members, onto their next schedule. However, before he was completely out of reach, JinJing was able to slip a small piece of paper into his palm - with her personal phone number written on it. The two secretly kept in touch for a while, yet slowly lost contact when caught up in their respectably packed schedules.
Following the split of EXO, Minseok still partook in the music industry. He continued to remain with SM Ent. for quite a while, though, of course, as a solo artist. He was promoting in China - making himself known as a "new" soloist - with, what his manager believed to be a great decision, a photoshoot. And, as fate or luck would have it, the "arm candy" he would be modeling with was JinJing - an already well known actress/model that would surely garner Minseok popularity if seen in a public magazine with her (at least in the words of his manager). Unexpectantly reuniting, the two found themselves caught in each other's "subtle" here-and-there glances. The spark of interest that had previously died out long ago was relit; igniting into something that neither of them would have expected in their lives: an endless love.

→ THE SECOND LITTLE TUMOR BABY ← After a grueling nine months of weird cravings, cramps, soreness, and other difficulties, Minseok and JinJing's second "tumor baby" was birthed on January 1st of 2022. Referred to as a "tumor baby" due to the child being delivered through c-section. The child was born with two x-chromosomes, meaning it didn't need to stand up when learning how to pee. The tired couple, after a short nap, named her Minhee. Minhee was the second (and last) tumor child, right after her genius older brother of seven years.

→ SOMEONE WILL DIE...OF FUN ← Her childhood showed no real excitement. She was a happy and boisterous child. Curious in her own sense, wanting to poke and put everything in . Thus forcing her parents to baby-proof the whole home. She stuck closer to her father around this time and age; she frequently would stick close to her father whenever placed in an uncomfortable situation with a large crowd of strangers. But if her father wasn't around, then her immediate second option was her older brother - to whom she greatly respected and idolized.
The start of her adolescence was a little..more difficult. This was the time when kids' bodies were transitioning into tween mode, the 3-4 prep years for teenage-hood. This was the time when kids of different..aspects would get pulled out and pointed upon for their differences. No matter what it was. Whether it be natural skin issues (e.g. acne), body types, crushes, ethnicity. Unfortunately, Minhee was pushed into this group of outcasts. It was stupid. Cliche. Old school. One would think that in newer generations, kids would learn that differences aren't a bad thing. But no. There were still the few that believed uniformed carbon copies of one another was the correct way. Almost the only way that things should be; and because of those immature brats, Minhee was forced into years of torment for traits of herself that she could not control. She was humiliated and hated upon due to her Chinese heritage (even if only half-Chinese). She was looked to with disgust and mockery because of her chubby cheeks and round-ish body. Daily she pushed through with a strong facade, while at home she was free to release her true frustrations and sadness with bouts of tears and sobs. Only her older brother knew of her struggles, though there was little he could due when studying in a different school and promising his sister to not tell their parents - to which he only constantly and strongly advised that she told them instead then. Which only earned him the response that she will, one day; though, in truth, she was ashamed of the fact that she was being teased. Truly believing there was something wrong with her.
Her official teenage years soon began before she knew it. The teasing had cooled down significantly, yet the thoughts of her imperfections still lingered in her mind. The extrovertive person she once was when younger was now hidden behind a wall of insecurities. Her mother had returned to China around this time, she left due to work needing to be done there. With her mother now having left the country, Minhee's state of depression only continued to worsen. Her older brother could not stand it any longer. He was forced to break his long time promise and instead followed his own intuition of telling their parents. While Minseok and JinJing had noticed a significant change in Minhee's personality from her younger years to the present, they never thought more of it as more than something all teenager's went through. But once Hongsoo, Minhee's older brother, relayed all the events that have occurred in Minhee's middle school years, Minseok and JinJing were shocked, angered, and disappointed - disappointed in Minhee and Hongsoo for not having told them sooner, but mostly disappointed in themselves for not having realized that situation sooner.
Now knowing of Minhee's current state, the only thing her parents could do now was help her regain the parts of herself that she had lost. First, her confidence. With her parents using their connections and great influence in the world of celebrities and entertainment, they thought of a solution for her to reaccept herself. Through the way of how her parents first met and later reunited: a photoshoot. The photoshoot was for her to re-see the beauty in herself. Show her that she is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. When her father brought her to the photoshoot site, Minhee immediately rejected the idea. But with her's father long long long persuasion and stubborness, he finally convinced her to take at least one photo. She stood there in front of the camera with a lifeless expression as the lense focused in on her and then the shutter clicked; she automatically had the mindset of the photo looking disastrous, however confusion and surprise overcame her when the photographer exclaimed, with happiness, "Gorgeous!" Wait. What? Gorgeous? How could someone like her be gorgeous. It just wasn't possible. "Could we take a few more pictures of you?" Asked the photographer, only further bewildering and confusing Minhee. But in a slight stutter, she still responded with a quiet, "S-Sure." From there the photographer captured more images of her; at first she was stiff, unaware of how to position herself or pose. She was nervous again of how she looked. After being complimented once, she tried hard to appear nicely in the photos. Minseok - who was standing off to the side - noticed her straight poisture and quickly conjured up an idea on how to make her loosen up. Laughter. Behind the scenes (i.e. behind the photographer) he began to make silly faces, pose in random positions, and make abstract and strange movements. Witnessing her father's strange antics, she could not help but release a few chuckles until it outright became a bout of laughter. In her moments of natural and truthfully expressive emotion, the photographer was able to capture her utmost beauty.
In the end when Minhee was able to see her photos, she found the photographer to have been lying about the first photo taken being "gorgeous," but she was grateful of such a white lie, and to her father as well, for she was able to also witness photos of she truly enjoying herself. And, she must admit, they were truly gorgeous.
Though it still took much time after that day, she was slowly able to regain three traits she had been missing: confidence, self-acceptance, and happiness.

→ NAPPILY NEVER NAFTER ← From age 14 to age 17 3/4, she was a teen model. However, during this time span, her passion for music had already began to bloom. Perhaps it was due to her friend's (i.e. sanghyuk *check friend sect.) influence, or her father finally getting to her. But whatever it was, her love only continued to blossom and grow daily. She often visited her father in his music studio, not realizing how at peace she felt in the vicinity of listening to her dad's pieces and just sitting in while he worked. It felt...comfortable, in a way. Almost- natural. As though she could see herself working in the same space. It wasn't until she further looked into the music industry in which her father worked/works for(i.e. mainly Korean pop) did she find herself longing to be like those idols on the stage. Performing and working to achieve their dreams in that highly competitive and cut-throat world. The world she knew she wanted- no- needed to be apart of. It was stupid. It sounded stupid. Why would she want to stress over every waking moment and sleepless night to debut - which may not even happen. Let alone would she be accepted as a trainee. But, she had to at least try. She knew she couldn't live with herself if she hadn't at least given it a shot. So, without her parents' knowing, she auditioned to be apart of the company her father was an idol of previously: SM Entertainment. She auditioned with a rap she had been practicing for years in her free time, a rap sequence that she had fallen for ever since gaining an interest in the genre.
Her years as a trainee were endless. She worked daily, following a rigorous schedule of dance rehearsals, then vocal lessons, followed by rapping, and some time for language lessons in betweens. Though her will and natural stubborness made her reluctant to give up. She had already fought for her position as a trainee with other applicants and...her parents. Even though being a former SM idol, Minseok was stil wary of letting Minhee go into the entertainment - as he knew of all the secrets and hardships that rested behind those closed doors. But upon seeing her true driver and motivation to be an entertainer, he saw himself in her look of determination, and knowing of how hard it was for his own parents to let him go, he knew it was the best. It was time for Minhee to grow on her own. However, her mother was less accepting, and still is. But, to settle her mother's worries and nerves, Minhee made a deal with her mother: 1) tell her mother of any mistreatment or issues, and 2) Minhee will (reluctantly) drop her dream as an idol and leave the trainee life if unable to debut within the time limit of Minhee's contract with SM.
There was little to no teasing towards Minhee (well, among a group of teenagers to young adults, you're gonna get gossip and some shiz, but nothing too drastic occurred), much rather she was able to befriend other trainees. They were able to bond between the mass amount of pain and work; and now Minhee is planned to debut with the ultimate-alumni-children, some of them being people she has already befriended. (*coughscoughs* MiyaandChen'sBoy)

Miscellaneous ::

→ can force herself to cry // once you are of that age where your parents start saying "no," you have to find some alternative in order for them to change their mind. in this case, their weakness was tears.
→ ambidexterous // found this out that she can write well with her right hand, yet draw better with her left. this was found out on a warm summer eve, when she was just a youngin looking to quench her boredom by wanting to achieve the status of van goh. turns out, her right hand drawing became more like a picasso, while her left hand drawing was a margritte (in comparison).
→ will stop in the middle of the street just to pet an animal and coo over its cuteness // there is no stopping her. many have tried.
→ allergic to dogs // but the allergic reaction isn't that bad, she only becomes a sneezing mess. so she rather take some pills instead of give up a life of dogs.

→ father, Kim Minseok/Xiumin ⋮ 50 ⋮ music producer, song writer ⋮ fatherly, sensible, headstrong, stubborn ⋮ they share a close bond as father and daughter, you could almost call her a "daddy's girl." Almost. It was minseok that had finally gotten minhee to pursue in a career in music; and though he was wary of her joining sm, at first, he still let her go, knowing that it would be best for her to learn and grow on her own.

  
→ mother, Yan JinJing/Jane ⋮ 52 ⋮ actress, ex-model ⋮ fc - aoa's shin jimin ⋮ motherly, overprotective, strict, caring ⋮ sadly, minhee isn't as close to her mother as she is to her father, but that isn't to say that they don't get along. Her mother cares deeply for her children, yet being an actress in China takes time away from spending time with her children (who are back in Korea). However, it is known how protective and concerned she is for her children's health and well-being as when minhee first told her mother that she was joining sm, her mother immediately argued against it. her mother was well aware - from minseok and the other exo members' past stories - of sm's past reputation of mistreating chinese members, and with minhee being half-chinese, she still did not want to take the risk.

  
→ older brother, Kim Hongsoo ⋮ 27 ⋮ earning his PhD in psychology ⋮ fc - bts' kim seokjin/jin ⋮ insightful, honest, considerate, introvertive ⋮ despite the large seven year difference, the two siblings are fairly close. Hongsoo always has this instinctive brotherly "must protect younger sister at all cost" outlook, while minhee constantly argues that she is very much old enough to care for herself. The two are as close as two siblings could ever be; minhee always knows that if she has any troubles, she could always talk to her brother.

 
→ dog(go), mickey ⋮ 10 ⋮ protecting the home and family ⋮ loyal, sassy, playful, friendly ⋮ Mickey is like minhee's personal knight-in-furry armor. She personally picked him out of the litter and named him (his name going along with her nickname "Minnie"). He was first a fairly troublesome pup, but after years passed of minhee training and caring for him, he soon matured into her faithful protector.

 
→ kitten, kit-kat ⋮ 12 weeks ⋮ begging for food and scratching against everything ⋮ greedy, needy, easily pleased ⋮ a new addition to the family, this little kitten is actually her mother's. Kit-kat and minhee haven't gotten fully acquainted yet (with the kitten being back in China with her mother), and so the air between the two is still a little sour. Let's just say, when kit-kat hisses at minhee, she hisses back.

→ Close friend, Chen's Boy ⋮ 18 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ chen and his son was the first of the old exo members (and their children) that minhee ever met. since exo's debut, chen and xiumin always had some close relation, so it was only right for their children to know one another as well. to say chen's boy and minhee hit it off right away wouldn't be quite right..it took time for minhee and the boy to finally open up more to one another, and once they did - they became almost inseperable.

  
→ Good friend, Park Miya (chanyeol's girl) ⋮ 17 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ miya was one of the first people that came up to minhee when she became a trainee; and it wasn't hard for the two to quickly become friends, or at least aquaintances, with miya's very open and outgoing personality - and all it takes is a bright person like miya to make minhee let out her true loud personality.

  
→ Childhood friend, Lee Sanghyuk ⋮ 19 ⋮ trainee ⋮ fc - choi junhong/zelo ⋮ tease, boisterous, somewhat troublesome, sneaky ⋮ Minhee's partner-in-crime, or really, sanghyuk committed and planned out the crime while minhee ended up being dragged along. Though minhee has a playful streak now, she wasn't always the snarky young lady she is today; in actuality, sanghyuk was the one to influence such a trait to form. The two bonded over harmless pranks and music, and sanghyuk was the one to first introduce rap to minhee, where she garnered a taste for the genre. To say she had feelings for him would be an understatement. She was in love with him at one point, and his feelings were mutual, but they just wouldn't work out. Time and fate wouldn't permit it. When she was single, he had a girlfriend. When he was single, she had a boyfriend. (side note: the two went to seperate schools, yet became friends through being neighbors, then attending the same high school, then becoming trainees)

→ Group Member, Luhan's Boy ⋮ 21 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ the two aren't particularly the closest pair. They are on good speaking terms, in which minhee attempts to speak to Luhan's boy in chinese, while he tries to speak to her in korean. Minhee is well aware of Luhan's boy's rapping and dancing abilities, and hopes to one day collaborate/perform a piece with him.

  
→ Group Member, Kris' Boy ⋮ 22 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ minhee is probably the least communitive with Kris' boy. Not that she dislikes him, not at all, but he sort of...intimidates her, to the point that it puts a blockaid in them becoming any closer. She truly wants to befriend the older male, but with that dominating aura (probably inherited from his father) surrounding the male, it almost seems impossible...

  
→ Group Member, Suho's Girl ⋮ 19 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ the two are fairly close aquaintances, but not enough to be considered friends yet. Both excelling in the field of dancing, the two became closer throught their similar passion of the art.

  
→ Group Member, Lay's Girl ⋮ 20 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ though Lay's girl is not that much older, minhee still views her as the big sister she never had. Lay's girl almost plays as the pseudo-older sibling while minhee is away/unable to talk to her older brother about her troubles. Though minhee does hold this feeling of burdening the older woman, she can't help but feel trusting and comfortable around her.

  
→ Group Member, Baekhyun's Boy ⋮ 18 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ same as Suho's girl, Baekhyun's boy and minhee were able to bond through the love of dance. The two often joke around, playfully stealing a few light quick kicks off each other in the middle of dance rehearsals. They have a pretty solid friendship; and besides Chen's boy and Miya, minhee could say that she can see Baekhyun's boy being an up-and-coming potential candidate for the spot of her best friend.

  
→ Group Member, D.O's Boy ⋮ 19 ⋮ Astral Idol ⋮ *** ⋮ another person minhee can relate to pretty well. Both of the same age and sharing the same position (lead rapper), the two have a lot of similarities. They often head to studio together  on free days (when heading out, they ask the other if they wanna tag along -- and the answer usually being "yes" or "sure"), where it's quiet and both can just write. There is still somewhat awkward air around them, but with due time the tension will lighten up.

It's not as though she holds anything against the girl, as minhee is well aware, already, of the reputation sm had with the old exo chinese members. But she isn't too sure what they share in common. She does very badly want to befriend the other, but she just isn't sure where to start?

She enjoys pampering and babying the younger, despite his greater height and constant distateful looks when she coos over his cuteness. "Initially, I didn't believe that I would become an idol..at least, not in the music industry. I always thoughts that I would continue my previous dream of being a big-shot model that would appear on runaways in designer outfits. But, once finally going to my father's studio and seeing what he does, first hand, that's when the spark of interest for music began to ignite. I began writing some of my own songs. Scribbling down words and lyrics of personal experiences and troubles. Before I knew it, I became depended on music and it soon became my outlet for stress relief.

Though modeling was my dream, my new goal in life is to make music! Music has become a major part of my life, and I would like to help inspire others to pursue in music. Or at least...give them the same experience and feeling as I have when performing.

And even though I'm still a little weary of meeting..all the other children of the old retired EXO members, but it's nonetheless exciting. Also, sometimes, you need to step out of your comfort zone, no?"

"Uh...I am not on any bad terms with any of the members, if that is what you're asking? Though, I could become closer with them. I am on a little better than pretty good terms with two of the members, but the others I still address quite formally. I still hold a slight hesitance in socializing with the others, with fear that they may find me as a nuisance. Even as a half-chinese, I still can associate a little better with the korean members, because I find a little more comfort in speaking in korean. But, I still hope to befriend the chinese members in due time, since they would be able to help me improve on my chinese as well."

"Yes. I will not lie or vaguely answer, but with SM still being one of the top legendary companies that is consistently known for pumping out the most successful and famous musicians, it is inevitable that Astral will garner some popularity from the already well developed reputation surrounding SM. Though I do believe this only puts more pressure on us, as successors of one of the most famous boy bands, to keep up the good name and quality. Whether our initial popularity remains will only be able to be determined as time progresses, even pass our debut. We have a lot of expectations and standards riding on all of our backs, though it could just be blind faith-- but I believe in due time, we will live up to, or even surpass, such set bars."
