I just wanted to advertise an opporunity to expand your writing experience--it's called the Collaborative Writing Challenge. It's completely free and open to everyone internationally. All you need to do is sign up online and you have the chance to be published :) It sounds sketchy when I say it like that (lol), but I've been doing it for the past two years now!

Here's what happens after you sign up:

1.) You are assigned chapters to write. Example: you get assigned chapters 2, 15, & 21.

2.) You recieve full length chapter one to read. The genre for this challenge (it is the 6th collaboration) is Young Adult Fiction/Fantasy.

3.) You now have a week to write your version of chapter 2. There are three or so other writers also creating their own version of chapter 2.

4.) The story coordinator reads the submissions and decides which chapter makes the most sense to help push the story forward. That chapter is chosen.

5.) Even if your chapter didn't get selected for chapter 2, you can still attempt chapters 15 & 21.

6.) You receive weekly updates about the story with each new chapter, but never the complete chapter.

7.) It's time to write chapter 15. You have a week. You have been given all the summaries of chapters 2-13 and a full length version of chapter 14. 

8.) The process repeats until a full length book is created and published!

I wasn't sure about it at first, personally, but I think the opportunity really helped me grow as a writer. It forced me to keep writing even when I had no inspiration and allowed me to meet a really great, supportive, network of other people.
