appearance : junsu prides himself because of his height as he towers over his classmates but according to his teacher, junsu is just a lanky boy and greatly resembles a skinny tree. he almost always forgets to brush his hair in the morning but his bed-hair is surprisingly neat to be bed-hair (the icon to the right) and during physical activities or gym classes, he pushes his fringe off his forehead and disgustingly, the sweat makes the fringe stay back (pictures above). junsu's clothes, in and out of school are always neat and will never have a wrinkle in sight. he usually wears a plain t-shirt and jeans with sneakers outside of school and that's just it. plain and effortless.

  

kim junsu had a particularly hard life. he was born within a wealthy family, though his parents didn't exactly have time to spend with their only son since they were constantly busy working. junsu wasn't bothered by the fact that his parents didn't have any time for him and spent time with his two sisters instead. junsu's school life during his adolescent years were average as he focussed more on playing basketball and watching over his sisters at home more. when junsu had turned thirteen, his parents promised to come back to seoul as they were out of the city at the time to celebrate his birthday for the first time in his life. as they were coming back, junsu's father drove past a red light by accident from being distracted by his wife as she tried to get him to talk to junsu on the phone. the couple were immediately killed as a car collided into their own and junsu heard the moment of the crash on his phone and ran to his sister's rooms to warn them of what happened.

exactly a month later, the majority of junsu's family wealth were given elsewhere to help support the now orphaned siblings. instead of moving in with their relatives, the three siblings decided to live together in an apartment to avoid living somewhere else. junsu's older sister cooked as junsu himself did most of the housework since his younger sister was too young for housework and getting a job. junsu and his older sister always smiled to make sure that the youngest of the three wouldn't worry about anything else and be upset as she was often bullied for not having parents. junsu played basketball during middle school and the first year of high school year and had a job as a waiter during his first and second years of high school.

when junsu found out what class he was in for his last year of high school, his older sister, kim taehee was mortified to find out what it was. class 3-1. she started to regret the moment that she denied the offer to move out of seoul and told junsu the story of the class and yoojung. taehee wasn't in the class but she remembered that their auntie was part of the mysterious 3-1 class during 1996. junsu simply kept it at the back of his mind and he's the one that tells his classmates the story of the 1996, 3-1 class if they did not know the story already.

in the mornings, junsu would wake up early and wake up his sisters. taehee would make breakfast while junsu would dress and do seulhee, his younger sister's hair. he would often forget about himself as he takes care of his sisters. 
 

kim junsu's form of death came in as a shock to others as his death was rather an option than forced death like the others. it was on the weekends when the first part of his death came in place. junsu and his sisters, seulhee and taehee went to the marketplace as usual. it was unsually packed and so the kim siblings went through an alley way to get home. it was as the siblings turned a corner that a large group of people ran past, trampling the three. junsu wasn't seriously hurt, mainly in forms of bruises but seulhee and taehee didn't share the same result. as a young girl, seulhee wasn't as strong as her older brother and was killed by the giant mass of people; and taehee was killed due to someone pushing her to the side of the cramped alley and she hit her head harshly against the brick wall, most likely crushing her skull. the next day of school, junsu made the entire 3-1 class gather on the roof. it was then that junsu jumped off the railings and fell to his death in the form of suicide as the class watched him die.

at kim junsu was finally with the rest of his family.

junsu is not exactly melancholic all the time but it is triggered by the simplest of things; a happy family, flowers with meaning and photos or mention of his deceased parents.

their first meeting didn't exactly go so smoothly. as a member of the basketball club in his first year, junsu was a team mate of yoo hongdae and he often saw kim yoojung waiting for hongdae after practice. one afternoon, junsu decided that he had wanted to become friends with yoojung but he fell down the stairs and broke his arm, forcing him to quit the basketball club due to taehee's request and that he had such an embarrassing fall in front of yoojung. his next meeting with kim yoojung was in class 3-1 and they sat right next to each other. the two often initiate a light conversation before school starts as they sit in their seats and sometimes, junsu will pass notes to her when he feels that the atmosphere is not right in the class.

eleven year old, kim seulhee and twenty-two year old, kim taehee are junsu's younger and older sisters respectively. the trio are extremely close to each other, as expected of orphaned siblings that had to live with each other. taehee is extraordinarily calm and level-headed throughout all conditions, which is probably why junsu is so calm compared to the rest of the males in his class. seulhee is more brash and innocent compared to taehee, though not loud in a bad way. junsu would do anything for these girls, even risking his own life; in other words he'd die for them. which is exactly what he would do.

although the trio of siblings denied her offer to live with her on the outskirts of seoul, jang yein still welcomes them with open arms as their auntie. yein was a student of the 1996 3-1 class and particularly close to yoojung during her younger days. after the death of yoojung, yein grew awfully quiet and is still mute till present day. yein communicates by letters and by flowers. she always has the same arrangement of flowers in her houses and whenever junsu questions her about the flowers, she gives him the same list. junsu later figured out that the flowers' meanings were directed towards yoojung from 1996.

do you know yoo jung, the deceased student of 1996? : yeah, i do. yein-sungmo has lots of letters in her house addressed from someone named yoojung but it's all from the 90s and she has lots of letters addressed back to him but she's never sent it. it's creepy but i've never been bothered to ask her about it. 

if so, when did you discover about the tragedy? : after i found out what class i was going to be, taehee-noona demanded that she knew straight away. it wasn't like her to be demanding so i told her. '3-1'. she was really shocked and muttered something before coming back to me. she explained everything that she knew from yein-sungmo since she was in that class. taehee-noona was worried since she knew that something with the class i was in had something wrong with it or something.

what do you think of kim yoojung? : she's really nice and kind. we talk every morning at school and it's refreshing to be with her.

do you think kim yoojung is related to yoo jung? : why would this question be asked? in all honesty, i don't think they are related by genetics or family. i've seen what 1996 yoojung looks like and it doesn't look like our kim yoojung. but they could be related in other ways...i'll keep an eye out for that if it even is possible. maybe i could ask yein-sungmo because she was close to 1996 yoojung.
