「 恋にオタク 」 jeon sayeon
dobibaby : shu : 9/10

full name jeon sayeon (전사연)
nickname(s)
yeon(ie) - it's just a shortened version of her name, and her parents usually calls her this. she likes it, but she just thinks that saying her full name sounds a little too formal and stiff.
mangaka-sshi - jinyoung likes to refer to her as this because well, of her aspiration to become a mangaka. he uses this loosely, though, and sometimes, it sounds like he's mocking her, but other times, he sounds like he means it playfully.
hana - it's her pen name that she made up; she used hana because she wanted a name that she could write in both japanese and hangul, and 'hana' was the first word that came to mind.

birthdate03.23.98 + 18
birthplace seoul, south korea.
hometownseoul, south korea.
ethnicity korean.
languages
korean (native) - sayeon was born and raised in korea, so she's completely fluent with the language.
japanese (conversational) - being interested in being a mangaka in the future, she has completely mapped out her future in japan's setting, meaning that she has to at least learn some japanese first; though she's not that great with the language, she's not too bad, and tries to practice it while conversing with the other club members that are studying it, and attempting to read and translate raw mangas.
weeaboo (super mega fluent) - sayeon often jokes around that she's fluent in the language of weeb, and well, that isn't a lie.

height & weight164 cm and 50 kg.
appearance
with flowy, dark brown locks and a gentle smile, sayeon is the epitome of heartwarming beauty. after years of avoiding the sun and hiding under a book, sayeon's skin has turned out to be quite pale, and not to mention, it's also quite smooth and soft, due to years of using facial products. she's a rather petite girl, standing at 164 cm, and while she's not stick skinny, she's not too thick either (although she'd dare to argue about her thighs, which she says are "the size of russia"). despite that, sayeon does have huge eyebags, since she insists on staying up to draw manga, and well, those dark circles under her eyes have resulted from that. sayeon was born with a head of black hair, but after years of living with it, she decided that it would be more fun if she dyed it a different color (but not too crazy, you feel?) so that's how her dark brown hair was born.

styleyour resident mangaka, jeon sayeon, is in love with sweaters, skirts, pastels, and practically everything girlish. though her clothes lean on the more comfortable and more casual side, she definitely knows how to match her clothes, and everyone can see that when she comes to school looking like a giant gumdrop. pleated or non-pleated, denim or cotton, sayeon loves all types of skirts, and although she doesn't particularly like her thighs, she must say that they accentuate them quite well. most of her closet is basically an army of pastel sweaters that she wears during the colder days, and t-shirts that she rocks on the sunnier periods. though she's definitely a skirt enthusiast, sayeon wears jeans whenever it's cold outside, and she also likes wearing warm, one-colored coats with them. accessories aren't that important to sayeon, and honestly, the only accessories that she really wears are hats and scarves, but even then, does she wear them sparingly. most of the time, you can usually see her walking around in dirty white adidas, looking as cute as ever.

what's on the inside?

traits :
she's a beauty humble, passionate, hardworking
she's a weirdo introverted, perfectionist, short-tempered

personality
though jeon sayeon is practically the monet of inhun high, she had never been one to brag about how great her art was. she's more of a humble individual, preferring that people learn about her talents by seeing her in action, rather than her telling them about how much better she is. she's incredibly passionate about what she loves, especially drawing, and dedicates herself to them - but she doesn't forget about her responsibilities, of course. sayeon knows that she shouldn't put aside her schoolwork to draw, but never has there been a day where she hasn't drawn. she's also passionate towards her dream of being a mangaka, and she's always researching how to be one, and drawing tons of manuscripts and storylines. her trashbin is always cluttered with crumpled up ideas, but fear not - jeon sayeon will eventually draw her life-changing manga. many see her as a hardworking individual, but it's hard not to. she does well in school because she studies, she works in her father's bookstore, and she draws manga. how does anyone have time in their day to do all of that? well, jeon sayeon does. she's the type to put in 100% of effort into her work, and a lot of people who she's done group projects with has recognized that.

despite that, she's become rather introverted as the years went by. in her first year, she was slightly outgoing and could make friends, since it was her first year, but after being introduced to the anime club girls, she found herself in their comfort, so meeting others became strange for sayeon. plus, she wasn't the type to go out and start talking to anyone randomly, and in the end, she became the rather reserved individual she is today. sayeon also tends to be a stickler for perfection, especially in what she draws. it probably stemmed from her mentality that she wanted her art to be perfect, so she was never fully satisfied with what she drew, but after time went by, she increasingly became upset because she couldn't draw the "perfect image." every time she did a realistic portrait of someone, it would always end up with her whimpering in frustration because dang it, how come she can't get this nose shape right? or why can't she draw lips? she refuses to accept anything less than perfect, and that's probably why a lot of her drawings end up in the trash, and why all of her mangas are sitting in a corner on her desk, untouched. sayeon also tends to be slightly short-tempered - and by slightly, that means a lot. she's hot headed and loses her temper quickly, and usually over small things too. it annoys everyone around her because goddamnit sayeon, did you really have to get mad at someone borrowing your pencil? however, her anger usually disappears as fast as she gets annoyed, and she's usually apologetic for getting annoyed afterwards, but that's just jeon sayeon for you.

background
after being born on a late march afternoon, jeon sayeon found herself surrounded by loving parents and an older brother that resembled a stuffed animal. she grew up in her father's bookstore, and as expected from parents who were book-lovers, sayeon grew up reading a bunch of books. every time her father came home with a new picture book, she would demand for him to sit down and read it to her, but aside from books, sayeon didn't have much going on in her life. she had a few friends, yes, but she grew out of contact with them, and she didn't really have anything interesting in her life, until her father thought that she would like this new genre of books: manga. her father led her to the manga section in the bookstore, and the first time sayeon opened up a book, she was hooked. the pictures spoke to her and she loved how every page was so detailed, especially the background.

so at the age of five, sayeon sat down and read manga everyday, and when she turned six, she decided to try her hand at drawing the characters that she loved to read about. granted, she was a terrible artist. her hands looked like spaghetti gone wrong and everything about her drawings screamed "monster." despite that, with the support of her family (the hanging of her drawings on the fridge really helped, honestly) and her love for drawing the characters, she never gave up on drawing, and now, she can draw a pretty good realistic portrait because of the many years of practice. when she started going to inhun high, she joined their anime club because frankly, that was the only club that seemed to be interesting, and it seemed small, which was a perfect amount for her, but little did she know, the girls there would end up being her good friends during her high school career. they were the ones to actually inspire her to start drawing manga during the end of her first year, and even now, she's drawing manga with their support.

trivia
- her dream school is the kyoto seika university in kyoto, japan

- because all she's ever done in life is sit down and draw, she's horrible with anything that has to do with her exerting tons of energy
- she works in her father's store for extra cha-ching
- sayeon follows the 'one mask a day' practice and that's probably why her skin is so nice and supple
- she actually has a pair of rounded, harry potter glasses, but she only wears them in class or whenever she has to read something and it's in small print
- though she's not the best at video games, sayeon is a great pokemon trainer - or so she thinks
- sayeon eats practically anything, but she hates eating zuccinis and eggplants whatsoever
- she doesn't read that much manga anymore, but the ones she does read are because she likes the art and wants to emulate it
- she hates drawing realistic portraits because she's such a perfectionist and her portraits are never perfect enough for her
- being the filial daughter she is, she works at the bookstore for free (but she's usually huddled up in the manga section, studying the art in the books, whenever she's not at the cashier).

me and my crew

family

father ; jeon yoohyuk ; 52 ; owner of ddeok bookstore ; intellectual, responsible, softspoken ; though he looks menacing and like a gangster sometimes, yoohyuk is actually a very loving and affectionate familyman. he owns his own bookstore and proclaims that reading is one of his loves, aside from his family. even though he's a loving guy, he doesn't go easy on his kids. ; fc: jang donggun

mother ; jeon misa ; 50 ; housewife ; easygoing, caring, shameless ; definitely acting as a chill mother, misa doesn't get too strict with her kids, unlike her husband. she can usually be found somewhere around their house, and shares a similar love for reading like her husband, but whenever she's out on the streets, she's embarrassing to be around because of her shameless nature. ; fc: kim heeae

older brother ; jeon junseok ; 22 ; cashier at ddeok bookstore ; gentle, kind, ditzy ; sayeon's teddy bear-like brother is the softest guy you'd ever meet. his gentle demeanor prevents him from even harming a fly, and everyone falls in love with how kind he could be. even sayeon finds herself being overprotective over her brother because he needs to be protected at all costs. he tends to be a liiittle ditzy sometimes, though. ; fc: kim dongjun

friends
best friend ; nam dohee ; 18 ; student ; kind, generous, shy ; though dohee happens to be a shy individual, the two met at anime club. admittedly, sayeon felt awkward at her first meeting, so she just said hi to the girl next to her, and their friendship has only blossomed from there. ; after getting to know each other through the years, sayeon is actually pretty close to dohee. she usually texts her about random things throughout the day, and if you asked her who the first person she'd ask for advice, her answer would be "dohee." dohee was actually the first person to read sayeon's manga. ; fc: jiho

love rivalhan yoomi (mijoo)
age 6.17.98 + 18
personality
the beauty kindhearted, gentle
the beast sly, clingy

beyond the soft brown locks and the sweet gaze she gives everyone is han yoomi; she's kindhearted, and always has a kind disposition towards others. whenever they feel like they've wronged her, yoomi doesn't get angry towards them, and is rather sympathetic towards them instead. she's an understanding person, and not to mention very gentle. she couldn't force herself to even slap a fly, and whenever she pats you or rubs your arm, you'll be shocked at how gentle her touch is. she treats others tenderly, almost as if she was a mother, and at times, you really do think she's actually a mother. it's almost entrancing, actually. her gentleness might come from her lack of muscle, but it doesn't matter, when her back rubs actually feel like angel hands on your body.

despite that, yoomi is an absolute devil. she has a strategically crafted reputation around the school as a "sweethearted beauty," but she is so much more than that - incredibly more so. underneath her kind and caring facade, han yoomi is a sly girl. she always has an ulterior motive for everything she does, and she's more deceitful than you would think she would be. she's always crafting up plans that benefit her, and dang it - she's just one tricky individual. she's also very clingy, and tends to sidle up next to the cute guys. she always has to be holding someone's arm, and if they leave her, they're bound to get an earful of her whining, and while sayeon thinks of her as barnacle that won't unstick from a whale, some guys actually enjoy her clingy nature.

background jeon sayeon had the displeasure of meeting han yoomi when she appeared in her math class during her second year. granted, she knew who she was, and heard from people that she was apparently one of inhun high's most coveted girls, but after seeing her in real life, sayeon has safely deduced that yoomi isn't as great as others make her out to be. maybe she just likes to rain on others' parades, but what's the hype about a girl that looks like a beansprout? in the beginning, sayeon just wanted to ignore yoomi as much as she could, but it's not that easy when the girl actually grabs onto everyone, kinda like a baby otter sticking onto its mother, but not as cute or adorable. of course, yoomi never ended up becoming sayeon's friend, due to her introverted nature, but thank goodness - she didn't even like her that much anyways, if that wasn't obvious enough. despite that, sayeon just ignored yoomi, who did the same - until a certain park jinyoung came in the picture.

interactions throughout her history with yoomi, sayeon has never made an effort to get to know her, and it's still the same now. nowadays, yoomi tries to in the conversation whenever sayeon's talking to jinyoung, but other than that, they don't talk to each other at all. initially, yoomi just thought of her as a plain jane that jinyoung wanted to work with because she was pretty smart and good with school wok, but after slowly seeing that he was falling for her, yoomi had to take initiative because "dang it, he's mine!" of course, she had a clingy and possessive disposition towards him, which got annoying for sayeon quick, but it wasn't anything major. it's actually annoying for the both of them; sayeon never really liked yoomi anyways, and yoomi felt like she was in a competitive rivalry with sayeon. whenever sayeon would be talking to jinyoung, yoomi just has to talk to him too; whenever sayeon would make him laugh, she would say a stupid joke to try to make him laugh; whenever sayeon impressed him, she would try to one-up her; god, when will this girl leave her alone?!

senpai, notice me!

love interestpark jinyoung, jr (got7)
backup love interest : lim changkyun, i.m (monsta x)
age : 09.22.98 + 18

personality
oh he's dreamy playful, friendly
oh he's a nightmare insensitive, conceited

meet park jinyoung, sometimes known to others as jr, but mostly known to be an idiot; he's a student at inhun high, and most people can recognize him from his head of blonde hair and his playful personality. he loves having a good time, and can usually be found teasing other people or laughing at other people's jokes. he's pretty easily amused, and that's probably why he laughs at everyone's cringeworthy puns, and hoots whenever people tell him a lame joke. you can usually find him playing around with others and teasing them, but avoid him whenever he's feeling particularly "punny" - those days are the worst. despite that, jinyoung is a pretty friendly guy, and you might be wondering how he knows practically everyone in school, but that's just because of his outgoing exterior. everyone loves him because he's just so pleasant to talk to, and it's easy too, so becoming friends with him is a piece of cake. afterall, who wouldn't want to be friends with the park jinyoung? that's right, keep asking that.

despite his child-like persona, jinyoung does indeed have traits that aren't so childlike. he tends to be rather insensitive to other's feelings, and doesn't particularly show much feeling or thought when he responds to them with a snarky comment. he's thickskinned, and sometimes, it might seem like he doesn't possess the capacity to actually put himself in other's shoes (which is true at times). he's also slightly conceited, and by slightly, he's actually extremely conceited. it's true that he's friends with practically everyone in school, and it's true that he's not that bad looking either, but he's taken that to heart, and now he just can't stop with the mentality that he's so good. he is quite proud and egoistical about himself, but hey, that's park jinyoung for you.

backgroundpark jinyoung has been a presence in jeon sayeon's life ever since he sat next to her in biology class during her first year at inhun high. being the introverted person she was, sayeon wasn't quite so friendly with jinyoung, who was literally stringing out ten sentences every minute to her. like gosh, how could someone be as talkative as him? sayeon had to admit, though, he was actually pretty funny and really friendly, and if he didn't talk so much, she might've actually felt like talking to him, but alas, he was quite annoying at times, and he was interrupting her from her drawing time. he would always comment on the doodles she made in her notebook, and would playfully ask her to draw him something, to which she would refuse, and there were times where she even growled for him to shut up because omg he's so annoying!!! despite that, jinyoung was a rather good friend to her, and he didn't exactly ignore her for liking anime, but he also didn't exactly go out of his way to praise her for liking anime either; he was just there. admittedly, sayeon would always look forward to what he had to say about her realistic drawings because he would always be straight to the point, and tell her what he liked about it, and make a suggestion on how to make it look better (despite him being an art amateur). as the years went on, sayeon progressively saw him less and less, since they didn't have a class with each other until her third year, but even then, he sat across the room from her, and she was completely sure that he forgot about her anyways, so she never really made an attempt to talk to him because why would she? but truthfully, she missed the days where he would praise her artwork and would always look at it in awe because for a few times in her life, they would actually make her pleased about her drawings. whenever they would have free time, and sayeon would hear jinyoung laugh, there would just be an aching in her heart because oh goodness, she missed hearing that laugh. honestly, she didn't think that jinyoung and her would ever start talking again, until they had a group assignment and oh... wait... park jinyoung asked her if he could be her partner?!

relationshiptruthfully, sayeon was shocked when he asked her that, and only nodded her head because she didn't know what else to say, other than a very loud internal voice screaming, "wtf!!!!" in her head. admittedly, she was lost. why would he want to be her partner? they haven't even been talking for such a long time now, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. though she was confused as to why he asked her, there was no denying that feeling of warmth and happiness flickering in her pits of her chest, and sayeon was actually pretty happy that the pair got to talk before they graduated. as expected, though, they were pretty awkward at first; it was a given since they hadn't conversed in months, but after a few days, they got back into their comfort zones, especially sayeon. she found herself oozing with happiness whenever he would talk to her, even if it was about the project that they were doing, mostly because oh god, park jinyoung is talking to me again!! there was a small voice in her head, practically squealing like every cliche anime girl ever when they talk to someone they liked, and it felt really nice. he wasn't as talkative as he used to be, and nearly not as childlike in terms of appearance, but other than that, he didn't exactly change that much. sayeon found herself actually being more open and talkative whenever he talked to her because dang it, he was just so amazing to talk to. she would never actually admit it, but she was head over heels for park hottie mchottie jinyoung, and little did she know, he was head over heels for her too. but honestly, why else would he have talked to her so much? and asked to be her partner? that's right - park jinyoung is crushin' on the resident mangaka-sshi.

my kokoro is going doki doki

comments(the secret club member) ahem, anyways, lovely fic! sorry for taking forever on my app omg and thank you sooo much for the extension!! ok so i made jinyoung a little insensitive and your typical puppy-love-with-this-girl type of dude, so yeah HAHa, and i feel like the love rival section is lacking eek... but i hope you like sayeon! <33

scene request(s)
- jinyoung asks sayeon to make a portrait of him, but she refuses cause she's not good at them
- he begs her, and she finally does it, but it comes out bad in her opinion, and he has to comfort her and tell her that it isn't bad
- after the whole portrait ordeal, jinyoung takes a picture of it and makes it his lock screen, and sayeon feels flattered? like she is really happy that he did that
- sibling interactions maybe???
- sayeon is working in the bookstore as a cashier one day, and jinyoung comes in ;-)
