( When + why did you become an Sm rookie ) : in 2017, her trainors considered her to be one of the best vocalists even though she may lack some holding of the high notes like the main vocals in the entertainment. she didn't really have a lot to work on anymore since her dancing skills were good and her rapping skills were fine as well, they decided to put her into sm rookies so that lee soo man would notice her and her talent.

( elaboration ) : seyeon is definitely more of the outgoing and smart girl. she loves a great debate and is very charismatic. she is really confident and she has a very eloquent manner of speaking that intrigues and draws people in. by being this outspoken, it is very easy for people to like her and would want to continue a conversation with her. since she is a debater, she exudes great confidence. this also ties in with her egotistical side. she has a great amount of confidence, not needing anyone's approval, knowing that she would do well. she's the person that would walk into a room and would turn heads. she's very proud. she is a very smart girl. she is great at thinking clearly and quickly, and is great at solving critical questions. since she is very intelligent and knowledgable, she uses her skills to solve difficult problems and to make sensible decisions. since she is a debater, she is very outgoing and energetic. she has a lot of energy and likes to use it to approach new people and hopefully make some friends. don't be surprised to see her go to every group and talking to them. lastly, she is also a very creative and original person. she generates ideas that are new and are outside of the box. her brain is like a computer's it's kind of crazy how smart and fast she is. even though she does have some positives, she has her bad times.

 

bossy and egotistical, she has a very big ego and thinks of herself as a person who could do everything great. having a big ego also leads to being bossy. since she thinks of herself as highly educated, she likes to control things. she is very close minded therefore she listens to new ideas from others but she doesn't welcome them. they find her to be very annoying at times. since she is a debater, she causes many arguments. she really enjoys a debate but sometimes these debates could turn into arguemnts and it's not like she has a short fuse, it's just that if the debate gets heated, she drops the, "good point but here is what i think..." and starts an argument. she is a very loud person as well so don't be surprised. she's a debater and is outgoing, no doubt this girl is going to be loud. she can be obnoxiously loud though so get ready. she is also an insensitive and vain person. she doesn't really care for another person's feelings when she says something. it's kind of sad. it's not like she doesn't care for people, she's just not one with people's feelings. finally, she is a vain person. she really cares about herself. about the way she looks, her style, and her wealth. you can kinda say she is a spoiled girl but trust me, she is more intelligent than a spoiled brat who is sad that her father gave her only 4,000 dollars to go shopping.

 

( background ) : the only child in her wealthy family, her parents really focused on her. they made sure she was getting the best of the best so that their daugher could be successful just like them. her father is the ceo of a mall in seoul while her mother is a fashion designer. you could say seyeon lived a very lavish life. while she was younger, her parents would sign her up for a bunch of things so that colleges would be impressed at how busy she is but how smart she is as well. in her childhood, she was always busy. tutors of every kind. piano, cello, singing, ballet, ballroom, tennis, golf, and subjects in school. she did all of these until she graduated high school. the only hobby that she actually connected to was singing and cello. she took singing very seriously and really wanted to improve. she hasn't ever thought about being a professional singer or a kpop idol. she originally never wanted to be an entertainer but a lawyer. that's why in school she was an overachiver. she always did the extra credit and did more work than what was necessary.

 

after middle school, she was offered to study abroad for her high school years in new york. she obviously took this oppurtunity and went to new york with her mom. she still did all of her tutoring in the states only this time, her mother added an english tutor into the mix because she was in america and only knew the basic words. in the summertime, seyeon studied a bunch of english so that she could manage in america. at the same time, she tried to squeeze in some time to practice her vocal skills. going into an american high school and all, she didn't know what to do. the only place she truly felt comfortable in was her choir class. she found that even if she did excell in her math or science class, she didn't feel as proud as she would be if she got an a in choir. at the age of 15, that's when seyeon knew that she wants to be a singer. to share her voice with the people around her.

 

when she graduated high school, her father came to her graduation and they had a family dinner. during this time, she already knew that she no longer wanted to a be lawyer. the lawyer thing would just be her back up if she doesn't make it as a singer. she quietly ate her dinner and her father noticed and asked her what was wrong. at first, she didn't know how to answer. so she just blurt it all out. the words kept falling out and she couldn't stop. she told them about her dreams and singing and how she didn't want to be a lawyer anymore but a singer. her mother understood. even though she can be a judgemental woman, she believed that you should follow your dreams. her father wasn't on board, but his wife convinced him enough so that he would let her do it only if she made it big in the next 4 years. if she didn't, she has to return and become a lawyer. seyeon couldn't believe her ears. her parents actually agreed. well her mother did, her father was still doubting her.

 

three days after her senior graduation, she returned back home to korea and continued to work on her vocal skills. a year passed and now she's 19. she was walking on the streets with her friends and they went into a cafe. as they were waiting in line, a woman probably in her 40's, came up to seyeon and another one of her friends and as asked if she would like to audition for sm. seyeon was shocked, excited, and kind of disappointed. shocked and excited because this was how she was going to begin her career and it was gonna be in the top entertainment industry in kpop. disappointed because she was only scouted because of her looks. she ran home and told her parents her big news and her mother agreed to drive her to the audition venue when the time came.

 

seyeon practiced all week to prepare for her audition. she wanted to prove to the judges that she wasn't just a pretty face. on audition day, she waited for hours until it was finally her turn. for her audition song, she sang iu's not spring, love or cherry blossoms. after auditioning, they told her that they wanted her to start training and after two years, she is now in sm rookies.

since jungkook found someone who is younger than him, he teases her a lot, but this doesn't bother seyeon cause she comes back with some smart that he brushes off or shuts him up. they have a friendship where they would go at each other's throat but would still care for each other. since jungkook is awkward with girls, she loves to about this and if they're hanging out together, she'd often try to push him into girls to see his reaction but that usually ends up crazy becauser of fans chasing their asses.

( Do you like the idea of there being 22 girls? ) : "with 22 girls, it definitely going to be harder to work with. i'm not so on board with competing with 21 other girls. it feels a bit brutal to have 22 girls but only having a small amount of girls debut. but then again, it has happened before. i'm not really liking the idea of 22 girls but nothing can really change that now."

( With there being 22 girls, do you think you can rank #1? ) : "i definitely think so. i feel like if i work hard enough, the trainers will see something in me and i can the #1 spot. nothing is impossible unless you don't try."

( What kind of group do you think sm is creating? mini Snsd? female version of exo? etc ) : i really hope it's going to be a mini snsd because that'd just be amazing to even be called a mini snsd. our sunbaes are so amazing and i truly have no words if sm is making a mini snsd."

( Could 22 girls debut in a group? ) : "that's a question a majority of people would say no to. with 22 girls, it's gonna be hard to distribute lines and strategies on how to get the spotlight would be hard no doubt because there is always that one member that outshines everyone else."

( Is there a rookie that you think will be hard to surpass?  ) : truthfully, a lot of them would be hard to surpass. i would consider myself one of the best vocalists even if i can't keep a high note that long, my tone is great and with practice i will get better. all of the rookies are talented as well and it's definitely going to be some tough competition to stand out. my worries are truly on the vocal side though. we have amazingly talented trainees and i can hope that sm will see something in me too.
