BACKGROUND +
 「✕ THE BIRTH OF KIM YEON  kim yeon was born in a bright, sunny morning in 1997, november 11th and her mum was disappointed to be greeted by a girl, hoping for another son. because the family wanted the gender of their last child as a secret, her older sister jungah specifically stated that the surprise was a must. jongin didn't want another sister, no he wanted a best friend that he could hang with all the time and even he scrunched his nose and frowned at the girl. to say the whole family was disappointed was an understatement, yeon was born a girl and nobody seemed joyous about it. as the planned name was jongyul, her mum did not care for her much until jungah said kite out loud, which in korean is yeon, which later became her name. maybe also because her mother was tired after the childbirth and couldn't actually be bothered to write another hangul character down. as her mother couldn't bother for another character, the family left it as yeon and still to this day, her other three siblings fight on what the other character should be. everyday they argue about their youngest sister's second character is but yeon is fine with how her name is.

 「✕ THrOUGH HER CHILDHOOD  in her childhood, the family moved to seoul and it wasn't much of a change for the young girl. her mother didn't really care for yeon, she did but it wasn't  exactly as well as her mother treated the others. when jongin got a new car and other toy airplanes, yeon received her older sister's stuffed animal which she still carries this day. her older sisters got much better treatment because they were the oldest and yeon was the unloved maknae. due to this and the fact, jongin was babied around and when jongin got new clothes, she received her older sister's old dress. yeon and jongin had a small rivalry throughtout their childhood to gain their parent's affection. she came home with awards and certificates from academics and art while her brother came home from dance. her brother gained more affection and then yeon grew a pit of jealousy, hence disliking him. she loves him but she can't help but feel sad on how he got everything and she always was second to him, there wasn't a moment where jongin was second. yeon never understood why, it never happened with inhye and jungah. she was sick of being second, jongin was first in everything. their family wasn't that old-fashioned in her opinion, but the son was always first. yeon grew sick and in turn, treated her older brother like complete trash and ignored him. but in front of everyone else, she made it seem like jongin was the one ignoring her. to say that their relationship was messed up was true, if he got a new cellphone. yeon would most likely have smashed it and smile sweetly in the corner, like nothing was wrong at all.

  「✕ FOLLOWING OPPA IN HIS STEPS  she got through music by following her brother to dance, ending up singing along to the random pop songs on the stereo, they were instrumental so she sang random lyrics. ask jongin or inhye what dear yeon sang and they'd list a bunch of foods that yeon liked as a kid. then when it was singing along to her father's old korean pop music or singing with her sisters to the radio, yeon found a large interest in singing. her parents then, at the age of seven, sent her to vocal classes and then in turn, both siblings found a large love for music. both siblings had different tastes however, jongin loving the songs that were easy for him to miove and dance to. while yeon loved ballads, the songs that had meaningful or meaningless lyrics that had a good tune. where she could sing easily too. when her brother was scouted by sm when he was ten, being only eight, she didn't understand the concepts of auditioning. nor did she understand the concepts of kpop, except for the shinhwa her sister played. because her brother had went to sm, she didn't want to audition for the same company. she wanted to prove that she could be better than jongin, she could shine more. one day yeon would be first, over her brother. she wouldn't be second to her brother anymore. she could be better, maybe one day in kim yeon's mind, i can be on the same stage as jongin and we can finally be on the same level. hearing of kara and rainbow, she found an audition for dsp media and decided to audition. her brother did so and yeon would do the same, just for dsp instead of sm.

kim yeon is known to be quite confident, people are shocked at it you could say she's quite confiyeont *slapped*.she's confident in most situations, yeon is confident and knows it. she'll be there to remind everyone that everything will be fine and have her head high and smile. yeon's there with her confidence stacked high and knows that everything will be okay. oh yeah, she knows it really well. don't mind if she's pretending to be shy, everyone knows it's an act but please, her confidence is high enough to pretend. also, she can  be seen as quite an optimistic person, by others she is but she isn't the sunshine of the group. she's often seen giving a smile at most times and she manages to bring out the best in every situation. she comforts others and reminds them the positive side of everything, always cheering them up. she'll make sure to not remind them of the negative side and make sure they're happy. because as yeon says, 'anyone who's happy is immediately beautiful'. she might not be full of rainbows, but she can always think of the brighter side of things. yeon is also very hard-working and ambitious,sticking through thick and thin and remaining with the company, even though she was a fetus back then (inserts e n e).she has big dreams for prism and herself and isn't afraid to stay back for practice, she'll be there practicing despite the time and don't mind if you see the manager yelling at her for staying up late to practice. it's already hard on her despite her training, she feels unsatisfied with it. feeling like she could be much better. she goes to work with a diligent naturealso yeon can be sweet, nice and a blushing, embarassed mess. she's very sweet and nice,at times,to people and if you're mean and you decide to walk in and haven't got you license, yeah forget it. oh she won't be nice to then if you don't have it, so better think of an excuse before kim yeon gets on yo and kicks you to hell. she can be smiley and happy to do stuff for you, if you're nice. she'll smile and treat you to food and whatnot if you're nice to her, that's why a lot of others say that yeon is the sweetest thing alive.
 

ahowever yeon is quite blunt and sharp-tongued, blunt because they deserve the damn truth and sharp tongued because same thing. she's quite critically honest about things like when it's for evaluatuions, the others expect her to be nice and let them off but she ends up to point out their mistakes harshly. yeon never beats around the bush or flutter around the subject, pointing out everything in a straightforward manner. yeon hardly ever tells lies and mainly because she grew around with the harsh truth, she tells it to everyone. this girl will never lie to you, ever. also because of her sweet manner, it can also tend to be nicely put in a way. but in fact, she only does so if it needs to be either so she doesn't ruin her reputation. that's probably the only reason why'd she do so. she's also very curious and adventurous, like the lovely example of 'pushing two buttons',if one read 'don't touch' and the other read 'blehh', she'd press one randomly, curious much. she like to venture out and explore the lovely world.it tends to be bad because she's never satisfied with an answer.  yeon's curiousity is something that has annoyed others because she's never satisfied with one. there has to be more to it, that's how it works for yeon. she's also a tad childish, her eyes go sparkly when she sees pororo things in store or if it's on television. cher inner child sparks up whenever something that she loves happen and she tends to act a lot like a child, not most of the time. it's surprising to see yeon like this because on how professional she is on the outside with her calm and collected self but the other members always make fun of it. often seen to have a proper posture and having control of her emotions, it's really funny to see yeon like this but then everyone loves her no matter what. as well as being stubborn as a kid,she sometimes can be a handful. yeon just has the mind of a child and is stubborn like one, at all times. she'll kick you if you do something wrong and ever since she is a proper adult soon, yeon will thow a tantrum at times too. she tries to manipulate the others to buy her things, but it sometimes works sometimes never.maybe it works on the staff because yeon is just the epitome of an angel in their eyes, she's dsp's gem who's trained for so long and that's why everyone adores her because on how 'angelic' she is. yeon isn't seductive but actually cunning, due to a life without anyone giving her what she wants, she wishes to get what she wants.

was born on NOVEMBER 11TH, 1997 from a KOREAN father and a KOREAN mother in SUNCHEON, SOUTH JEOLLA-DO, SOUTH KOREA. Currently 18 years old, she grew up in SEOUL, GYEONGGI-DO, SOUTH KOREA and her native language is KOREAN. because yeon is the youngest in her family and it's a joke in the kim household that this would be her underground rapper name following all the rappers with little in their name. the name's also used as a form of affection because well, she is jongin's dear lil'sis. the name is mostly used her brother and her other siblings.

whenever yeon has introduced herself, they always think she's forgotten 'ji' from her name. it's happened so often that her brother began calling her kim jiyeon and then it somehow became kimchiyeon. it also doesn't help that her brother said she had a personality that was much worse than the smell of kimchi.
