Prologue Vs. Prelude

Prologue: A separate introductory section of a literary work.

Prelude: An action or event serving as an introduction to something more important.

Okay...

I'm a bit torn in what I should use...

Prologue's are typically or the one's that were oftenly use in writing. [fanfiction, novel, etc.]

And Prelude's were typically use in music, mainly musical scores.

But I read that Prelude can also be use in writing since it basically means the same as Prologue.

Which means a short  Introduction before the start of the actual story.

But to me I think it's just a matter of which one is more "fitting" to use in the structure of the story a writer is writing about.

But, I think Prologue's were too oftenly used these days that it feels redundant and boring already everytime I see one at the beginning of the story.

So, I'm thinking...

If I'll go with Prelude... Just for a change [^-^]

Or stick with the common Prologue...

So, help me???

Give some insight???

Hehehe!!!

Anyway, Thank you in advance to anyone that will pay attention to me little rambling...

The intent of the two are similar. If I were to write one for my current story, I would choose prelude. Not just because I like the sound of it better, but because it suits my story better. I think you should go with whichever you prefer.

hmmf much better if you'll going to use both :) it will be depending on the usage or rapport hehe :) .... maybe there were constructive criticism if you have wrong word. :)

hmmm... what you pointed out at the start is clear to me that the two have diffenrent purpose, perhaps? idk i'm not a writer lol...
but yeah like you said prologue's are the ones the were oftenly used in writing. so almost every reader were already use to it... but the thing is you're the writer :) just go for what you think suits best for your story :)

ps. i really don't read prologue's :p
i just re-read them again when the story gets shaky in the middle or when the author pointed out to it for reference because i find it really boring! hehehehehe :)
