Riddle me this. (Part 1)

Yes, this is a series of me asking questions about shipping and fanfic genres that I don't understand.

No other words needed so not gonna say anything else.....Yeah

This has been bothering me for a long time to the point of insanity

Why must Luhan always be bottom in HunHan??????

I MEAN C'MON PEOPLE JUST WATCH HIM INTERACT WITH XIUMIN FOR 5 SECONDS AND YOU WLL SEE HOW MANLY HE IS

Luhan is playful I understand that!!! But I wouldn't call him girly, looking yes but not acting wise.

I also hate HunHan for that reason.

I also hate when people always make such stupid stereotypes over people.

But I am not hating..even if it sounds like I am......

Can someone please explain why this is such a thing?

I'm not a huge fan of hunhan or any sort of ship in general, but I agree with CaptSunRiser's logic O.o

Not everyone is a broad thinker c;
Plus people simply have preferences - no matter how disagreeable it can be.
Take es for example! Although that might not be a good example...

I have two theories:

1) Because he appears more manly in real life, people may assume this is an act and that he is overcompensating. Coupled with his effeminate looks and (possibly) mannerisms and he must surely be the bottom.
2) Some people think of things differently to how they are. So, for example, when playing video games, they choose characters that are the opposite to how they are, or they develop characters that are the opposite to how they are. So if you are a skinny, scrawny waif that would be knocked over by a sneeze, then you may develop a big, powerful, muscular character. Similarly, a person that is very masculine may appear fictionally as the opposite to how he is in real life.

That being said, I can see that it would be so frustrating and I do sympathise with you, even though I haven't really seen it in my OTP ...and I can only say my OTP since I don't pay attention to many fics on here.

I have the same issue with a popular OTP of mine and like, it's so annoying but it just typecasts both of them in the same stereotype and I hate it with a passion

I hate hunhan because I don't like Luhan
But I think you already know that.
Most fanfictions are based on looks because characters are out of character. Physically, Luhan looks like a bottom, people write him as a bottom, the end.
