Craft #85: Paperclay art (complete); Gummy Bear charms (WIP/Fail?);

PAPERCLAY ART

WIP no more. (The changes I made weren't even noticeable in this photo lol). Oh who am I kidding?! This will be a WIP UNTIL I coated it with acrylic emulsion.

But for now, this is complete!

GUMMY BEAR CHARMS

Kawaii, right? Or is it creepy? (You skewered and inverted them, Keeper!)

It would be more awesome if they dry and harden. HAHA!

Get Crafty Crafty's most recent craft tutorial had me buying a pack of gummy bears. And then I coated them with Sculpey gloss glaze.

That was Sunday afternoon.

It's Tuesday morning now and they're still sticky and squishy.

Hmmm... And it was only after  I coated them with glaze that I realized a few important things.

#1 I live in the Philippines. It's hot in the afternoons but cool in the mornings and evenings. I should have aired them first or let them dry before applying glaze. And I should have done this in the morning. The bears were melting as I glossed them haha!

#2 Our ants are vicious. I had to protect the perimeter with magic chalk to ward them off. The magic chalk didn't deter a few black ants but since the bears are already coated, they decided the bears weren't edible.

(Keeper, this is the reason why you always plan first before doing anything >_<)

I should have made a gummy bear mold to make polymer clay or resin charms.

Now they're drying by the window...

I will give them a few more days before I declare this a major craft fail.

Next on the list are Valentine's Day polymer clay charms. Here I go again. I've already told you before how picky my sister and mom are when it comes to gifts. Don't expect a thank you. Just be happy they accepted it, even if they don't use it.

I love giving my unnies gifts because they are always so happy with just about anything.

With my Dad, it's also hard to think of something that he would actually use. HAHA!  Yep. I trashed my handmade gift ideas for his birthday and Father's day. I just made a card, took a photo of it and sent the image to him. The card is still with me LOL But it would really be nice to give him something I made.

I really should finish everything I started. I have a problem of doing that recently, it seems. So before Valentine's Day, I should have made polymer clay earrings for my sis, something for mom, and dad... my unnnies. CC must be updated. Add a one shot or two because it's been a long time since I've written something new. And a KIS layout because that thread has been in hiatus since the start of 2015. Whew.

First, I should take care of the bands and the yarns. I must do something about them...
