Spontaneous Writing 3

S.Coups smiled as he watched his girlfriend work on her crafts. She glanced up at him and noticed that he stopped reading to stare at her.

"What?" She giggled.

"You're gorgeous."

"What, in my no makeup, day two hair and sweat clothes? Right." She scoffed.

"You're always beautiful." He grinned. She rolled her eyes with a smile as she continued her work.

"Why do you like doing paper-craft so much?" S.Coups asked.

"Because the act of cutting paper is much less painful than cutting myself." She didn't hesitate to answer. S.Coups stared with wide eyes of worry. Did she cut herself? She looked at him again and laughed.

"I'm kidding. I don't cut myself. I cut other people."

-

"Yah, hyung." Hoshi poked his older friend to snap him out of his day dream.

"S-Sorry."

"Thinking about her again?" Hoshi asked as they looked back over at S.Coups' now ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend.

"Shut up, I wasn't." He muttered and drank his coffee. Really thinking about it, did she do that to other people? Or herself? He never recogized it.

"You obviously were. You dazed off after seeing her walk in." Wonwoo said.

"I just don't get how she's dating someone that much older than her. I bet she's a gold-digger now." S.Coups bitterly replied.

"She's not. When has she even remotely done that to anyone? Remember how many times you'd find money in your bag after you two went out or you bought her something?" Jeonghan nodded.

"Then, maybe she's only dating him for the se-"

"Why do you hate her so much? She has been nothing but good to you." Hoshi defended.

"Whose side are you on?" S.Coups asked.

"With you being such a about it, hers."

"It's been four months, Seungcheol. I think you should be over it now." Jeonghan softly said.

The four boys looked over to the couple and saw one of their friends there.

"What's Joshua doing over there?" S.Coups asked the group.

"You didn't know her well, did you? Joshua's her half brother." Wonwoo told him.

"What? Since when?!"

"Since forever."

"HEY!" She exclaimed as Joshua walked over to their table.

"Hey girl!" Joshua smiled and gave a brief hug to his sister.

"Hi again Taekwoon hyung." Joshua bowed as he sat next to him.

"Hello, Jisoo."

"What brings you here?" She asked her brother.

"I actually came because Coups called me out. But I saw you first, so I wanted to say hi."

"Oh? He's here?" She asked, then looked around. She saw her ex-boyfriend sitting at a table across the cafe staring at their table.

"Why is he staring at us?" She wondered, then turned to the boys at her table.

"Oh, who knows with him nowadays. He can be so salty sometimes." Joshua rolled his eyes.

"He gets that way when something bothers him." She told him.

"Whatever about him, I'm sure you've had enough of that. How are you?" Joshua asked his sister.

"I'm getting better."

"Have they gone away yet?"

"Just about. That's why she's finally wearing shorts." Taekwoon smiled at his girlfriend.

"I assume you've been helping her?" Joshua turned his head to the older man.

"Of course, I have. You know what, it helps me too. So it's great for the both of us."

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Joshua held his sister's hand and the back of it with his thumb.

"Don't apologize. I chose to keep it to myself for so long."

"Why did you?" Taekwoon asked her.

"I loved him." She softly smiled.

"I wish you'd told me." Joshua told her.

"What could you have done?" She laughed.

"I'm sorry."

"Oh, quit being such a poopy. Go hang out with your friends. I'll see you at Dad's party Saturday."

"Alrighty. Later." He smiled and kissed her on the cheek before joining his friends at their table.

"He's a good brother." Taekwoon noted.

"He's a GREAT brother. I love him."

"I hope some day he'll be my brother as well." Taekwoon winked.

"I'm only 19!"

"I didn't say right away. I'll wait until you're ready." He smiled at her. She felt herself falling for him easily. No one had been so kind to her.

Joshua sat down with his friends and Jeonghan slid him a coffee.

"How's your sister?" Jeonghan asked.

"Can we not talk about her?" S.Coups snapped.

"She's good. Her cuts have healed. She's wearing shorts again." Joshua smiled at Jeonghan.

"Aw, that's so cute. I haven't seen her wear shorts in forever!" Hoshi exclaimed. S.Coups sat frozen in his seat.

*So she wasn't kidding... She did cut herself.*

"I was hoping that you were talking about someone else when I overheard you and Jeonghan-hyung talking about cutting. She really did, huh?" Wonwoo asked.

"It was pretty bad. The last time she did it, I caught her, and I had to take her to a doctor because it was pretty deep." Joshua replied.

"Did she have to go to therapy?" Hoshi asked.

"Thank God she didn't. She hates stuff like that. I took her to Doctor Choi. She's close with him."

"Did she.... say why she cut herself?" S.Coups asked. The other four looked at the eldest man.

"You really don't know why she broke up with you, do you?" They all asked.

"You made her miserable, Seungcheol." Jeonghan truthfully answered.

"She changed after a year of dating you."

"She lost all of her friends because you practically caged her."

"But you know what, despite all of that, she loved you. That's why she kept on for so long." Joshua said.

=====================

The young adult girl was back at the art store for the third time that month and was looking around for supplies. She already had a stack of cardstock paper on her left arm as she looked around for more things.

S.Coups entered the art store with a list of painting supplies he needed. He was going to finally paint the sunset he'd promise the girl of his dreams. He walked over to the aisle of canvases when he saw her entering the aisle from the other end. They shared eye contact for a second before she smiled at him.

"Hello, S.Coups. Interesting meeting you here." She said, facing the aisle with tools.

"Y-Yeah... Jisoo said he wanted a few canvases, so I came." He replied as he faced the wall with canvases. They were speaking shoulder to shoulder.

"Oh, he's back at it. He took my suggestion then." She giggled.

"You need more paper craft supplies?" He asked.

"Unfortunately, yes. I used up all of my paper on my latest installment. And all my blades went dull."

"Sad to hear."

"Sad to experience. Do you have any plans this weekend?" S.Coups widened his eyes.

"Don't think so... What's up?"

"There's an art gallery at the museum, and Taekwoon's too busy working this weekend, I really want to go because I have a few pieces in there."

S.Coups was getting another chance to be around her, of course he was going to take it up.

"Sure. I'll come. I want to see your hard work up in a gallery. I think that'd be pretty neat." S.Coups smiled, then turned to face her.

"Yeah?! Awesome! Thank you! I was worried that I wouldn't have anyone to go with, but thank goodness you can."

"Jisoo can't?"

"He picked up an extra shift so we can go on a trip together."

"That's sweet."

"Tell me about it. He's such a great brother." The two continued talking until they reached the cashier. Before she could take out her wallet, S.Coups already paid for all of their items.

"Y-Yah!"

"My treat to you." S.Coups smiled at her.

"Aigoo.... Always paying for my art stuff." She snickered. The two walked out together and started making their way toward her apartment.

"So. What's the dress code for this gallery thing?"

"You and I have been to a gallery before, you should know." She laughed.

"Yeah, but I wanna know if it has to be extra special for you."

"It's the same dress, Seungcheol." She softly smiled.

"Alright, so the blue dress then." He joked. She hearitly laughed at his joke, which warmed his heart. He glanced at her with a large smile.

*I miss this.*

"There's my sweet little angel." The two looked over to the voice and saw Taekwoon.

"Hey, oppa!"

"How did I know that I would find you coming from the art store?"

"Because we were here last week." She giggled.

"Aigoo." He shook his head and ruffled her hair.

"Yah!" He took the bag from her with a smile.

"Hello, Seungcheol." Taekwoon greeted.

"Hi."

"Oppa, Seungcheol said he can come with me!"

"That's good. You have company."

"Great, huh?!"

"Let's get going, so I can get started on dinner, okay?"

"Sure! See you this weekend, Seungcheol!" The girl happily walked off hand-in-hand with her boyfriend and swinging arms. Seungcheol watched in jealousy.

*I probably can't have you anymore, can I?*

~~

S.Coups arrived at his shared house and was greeted by his friends.

"Hey hyung!"

"Welcome home!"

"Where were you off to?" Joshua asked.

"Art store." He replied, showing the canvas.

"Ooo~ Choi Seungcheol back on the canvas! What inspired you?"

"Something that came up."

"Interesting." Joshua helped S.Coups carry his things to the room dedicated to art down the hallway,

"I ran into your sister at the art store." S.Coups quietly said.

"Oh, you did? Did you guys talk?"

"We did. I even walked her home, kind of."

"Kind of?"

"We ran into Taekwoon."

"Ah, right. I keep forgetting that they live together."

"That quickly?"

"My sister moved in with you within a month."

"Right... To be fair, you were there too."

"You have a point. What did you guys talk about?"

"She invited me to the gallery."

"Are you going?"

"I am."

"Seungcheol-ah." Joshua gently gripped the other's arm.

"Look Jisoo. I may have only realized what I did to her now and was angry at her, but I miss her. I want to make it up to her for making her life miserable. I owe it to her." S.Coups quietly said. Joshua felt his heart hurt hearing the desperation in his friend's voice. He'd never shown a side like that before, and now that he didn't have her by his side, he felt lost.

"I at least owe her some happiness, don't I?"
