Background:
1 + 1 = one maliyah's parents met back in praia, cape verde because of mutual friends. her mother is from the phillippines and her father is cape verdean. after five years of relationship, they got married and had twins. the first one was a boy, Daniel and the second one was a girl, davina. three years later, another little potato was born in cape verde. it was none than maliyah. when maliyah turned three years old, the family moved to montreal, canada. since her young age, she liked sports. back in praia she would watch her older brother play soccer with his friends. but, when they moved in canada, maliyah got into hockey. when she turned five years old, her dad brought her to hockey. she was quite good and she had a lot of friends. maliyah at school wasn't the best student. she pretty much did the average and her parents didn't complain much about it.
THE NEW PASSION that moment shock her life was when her middle school best friend, Sera, introduced her into kpop. the first group she heard was super junior. she wasn't a huge fan of the group,but she liked it. the moment when kpop really hit her life was shinee. she started to gain attention to different groups and that's when she started to sing to. she would sing mostly in french or in english. her trying to learn kpop dances was funny. her best friend and maliyah danced to few groups, but maliyah's main passion became in singing. if she wasn't practicing in hockey, she would be singing.
NOT KEEPIN' IT FOR ME years later, maliyah finally went to her first jyp concert in toronto, canada with her sister and bff. she enjoyed the concert like tomorrow. miss a became her favourite group during those years. she kept this concert in her mind. she thought, "it will be my turn on the stage on day." even if she wanted to be on stage, she was mostly scared to try to audition for a korean company. i mean, she isn't korean... her korean isn't fluent but, she was more conversational thanks to her bff. also, she thought that the fact that she is part black would be looked down. then, her brother intoduced her to yoon mirae. it was the only reason why maliyah finally got the courage to audition. yoon mirae IS in fact half black too. so, that's why when she saw that jyp was doing an audition in toronto, her bff and her went for it.

WHATS MY MUSIC IS LIKE her music selection is quite surprising. especially her playlist that she named it "eargasm" it is full of dirty minded/ual songs. her top favourite are "slowmotion-trey songz" ; "mr. steal your girl - trey songz" ; "doucement - makassy" ; "do what we do - jay park" ; "turn off your phone - jay park" and lastly "birthday - jeremiah". she loves them y'all. she sings them out loud in the dorm, in the backstage, in the waiting room, in the car, in public~ everywhere she won't be scared to sing them.

Trainee Background: maliyah's trainee days wasn't easy for her. it starts first with her not knowing a lot about the korean language. she was pretty much conversational, thanks to her best friend. maliyah couldn't much make too many friends. she moslty stick with the trainees who were able to speak english. even if she wasn't fluent, she could understand and answer the best she could in english. the language was hard for her and luckily, she finished high school already so, it wasn't like she had to go to school too. her first year was hard to keep it up for her. during her hard time, she would be on the phone with her family members and talk to them. luckily, maliyah's sister moved to south korea to study at the national university. maliyah didn't lived in the trainee dorm, she was with her older sister now. maliyah joined the dancing and advanced singing class during that year. she didn't much tried her best to make friends, but she did tried. she had one or two friends in those classes.
her second year maliyah's korean was getting much better after being around koreans all day everyday of her life and hearing the language on daily basis, she was able to make a little bit more friends. she did had few problems and misunderstanding with trainees because of the language barrier and culture difference. despite those hard time, maliyah had the chance to see her one of her favourite groups perform on tv shows. she enjoyed it a lot and it gave her the strenght to keep working hard. she also became friend with momo during that time. momo was always there to help her in dancing while maliyah helped her in singing.
her third year was pretty much fun for her. maliyah had the chance to dance has a back up dancer for jyp's concert. even if she wasn't in the front spot, she loved it a lot. maliyah was quite sad to see that her close friend, momo was selected to join sixteen. yet, she was very happy for her girl. six months from now, maliyah got selected for allure's project. she kept working hard and whenever she felt down, her sister was always there for her.

AWN THAT CUTE BOY mino is the type of boy that maliyah dream to date. he's someone confident in himself. he doesn't like to show any weakness. when he's totally mad, he'll not show it. he will just tell you that he didn't liked what you did. he's pretty honest with everyone. he prefers to tell the truth without to be too harsh or rude. he's very patient. he can wait one hour for you and he'll do it without to complain except if you totally exagerate. he's very honest when he doesn't like something, he'll tell you that he didn't like it. he's a goof ball, he's can pass from the serious guy to a goofy boy in 0.3 seconds. First Meeting:they both met on a tvshow [you choose author-nim]. everyone had to introduce themself and show one of their talent. so, every members of allure does their own thing and there is maliyah's turn. maliyah introduced herself and followed it by showing off her speaking in different language (portugues, english, french + her saying the korean alphabet fast and backward ). after her impressive korean alphabet, everyone clapped and cheered. then, randomly, the mc asked mino what he thought about maliyah's talent.
"euhm, she is very good in languages."
then, the mc asks, "why did you hesited to say that?"
"no. i mean. it is the first time that i heard someone speaking in so many different languages."

later on, winner was on weekly idol and mino was asked which female idol he wants to collab with on stage. surprisely, he said that liyah was his choice. shocking the two mcs, dony was like " so you like her?"

then, he had to repeat it with a awkard voice. as soon it was allure's turn to be on weekly idol, when they saw her name tag, the two funny mcs pointed at her. "oh!!!!!!!! it is her!"

"there's a member from a group that said he wishes to collab with you."

maliyah start laughing and makes a heart. the whole groups ends up laughing at liyah's cringe worthy "aegyo".
it was only after dumping into each other and having short conversations that they finally exchanged phone numbers. which was maliyah who asked him since this girl ain't shy that all. they slowly became close friends. they would text often during their free time and hangout during free schedules. and then, they both called each other best friends.

THE TRUTH actually, they are both best friends each other ,but they have feeling for each other. all members of allure and winner sees the fact that they have feeling for each other. maliyah and mino doesn't even realise it right away. the members would try to tell them, but they would deny it. they both feel like they conect in a way, but they only sees it as a strong friendship and nothing else. the thing is that they aren't aware that they like each other. they actually do looks like boyfriend-girlfriend. they getteasily get jealous and having skinship. around each other, they are joking around, talking, having silly conversations.
PUBLIC in public, they are looking like two friends mostly because they don't want any crazy rumors about them. yeah, you know, crazy fangirls who doesn't want oppar to be close to a beautiful foreigner idol. they are both careful about both groups' reputation since allure just debuted and winner had a comeback since a long time. they don't want a big scandal to appear and ruin everything. so, they act like two close friends. they make up jokes together and laugh together like two crazy people.
